I make these bracelets out of little components that I create as studies of ideas and techniques-
each component is like a sketch that I then collage together with other pieces to make a composition.

The bracelet is then united on an Italian leather strap
with a handmade original design sterling silver buckle that
I created while living in Florence Italy. (where I studied my craft under Italian master goldsmiths)

If I had a catalog, I'd call these colors in this bracelet - "mottled salmon" pink, "lizard scale lime" green and white and green "speckled wintergreen".. All joined together with hammered Brass and silver links, oxidized to a deep "gunmetal grey" and "mellow golden" brass.

Swirling Paisley pattern encompasses the body of this gorgeous ring.

Paisley Silver was cast from a hand engraved and fabricated original. I created this piece during my years in Florence Italy, when I was enrolled in engraving lessons with a master Florenting engraver and stonesetter. (He now has a shop on the Duomo side of the Arno.. a stones throw away from Ferragamo and the Ponte Vecchio...pretty lovely spot)

Paisley silver is solid Sterling Silver, so it has a nice heft.. weighing in at 8.6 grams. (if it was hollow it would have weighed around 4 grams) This extra weight gives it an important feel.(as if it was platinum)

Mokume Gane is an ancient Japanese technique of working mixed layers of metals. A process of layering, hammering and filing different colors of metals results in this unusual and dramatic "WOOD GRAIN" effect. this process is really unique, and each pattern is ONE OF A KIND. (please allow for variations of pattern in the mokume)

Every once in a while I get the urge to do a really "Big" piece- something that takes a week or more to make- usually I make one of my strap bracelets...but this summer I decided to stretch into playing with torch fired enamels...

I love the look of torch fired enamels: the colors are slightly muted and smokey, the edges darken with oxides from the copper laying just below the glass surface...

this necklace , "Carnevale" is double sides as well, with colors of red white and lime green interwoven with mellow brass shape links- the centerpiece link has a Carnelian silver and brass motif on one side, a silver, deep red and brass motif on the other.

Shape Links are slightly domed, to enhance the playful surfaces. The clasp and chain links are hand fabricated and forged in sterling silver

Necklace sits high on the base of the neck and measures approx 17" (variable by 1/2" with adjustable link)
