People had murmured about it and a few had bugged me to make it. Finally, a fabulous excuse came along for me to sit down and finally make it - the DIYscene Etsy Street Team's December theme! December's theme was 'Dark Circus', a fabulous excuse to indulge in a bit of circus-y, sexy, burlesque-y fun... Like what you see? This burlesque boob, whilst it may not be Dita-esque, is guarenteed to raise a titter when you pop it out of your bag or lunch box! Start a bit of controvery around the water cooler or, if you're a teacher, scare the kids in the classroom. Perhaps they'll learn the facts of life from it...

This charming fruit cover comes with a darling nipple tassel that you can button on to the front of the cover to cover up that big ol' nip if you fancy adding a touch of modesty to the proceedings... Then whip it off again to shock! Ha!

Liven up your lunchtime and make having your five a day a little more fun with this cute fruit pouch! Add an extra layer of protection to your orange... Or maybe you have a piece of fruit that wants to dress up as an orange? What the hell, let your apple play out its cross-dressing fantasies!

Handmade crocheted fruit pouch in orange and a touch of dark green.

The body is constructed in treble crochet and the green knobbly bit on top (What *is* that called?!) is made of double and half-treble crochets.

The orange's circumference is approximately 26 cm (approx. 10.25 inches); the zip opening is of approximately 16 cm (approz. 6.25 inches).

*IMPORTANT* It's made to fit what I would call an 'average' orange, i.e. a Valencia one. I'm not saying you have to go to the greengrocer's with a tape measure but be careful to choose oranges that'll fit!

100% mercerised cotton yarn used in construction.

Yarn colours may bleed during washing.

ATTENTION! UK double crochet = US single crochet; UK half-treble crochet = US half-double crochet; UK treble crochet = US double crochet.

NOTE: my delicious Valencia oranges aren't included - I need those for a light snack!

The body is constructed in treble crochet and the leaf and stalk are knitted. The leaf design may vary between individual apples as I try to shake things up a little bit - hey, variety is the spice of life!
