Medieval Magic Bookmark made from recycled materials

This bookmark was collaged on to a base of cereal box cardboard.

The "front" side is covered with a wallpaper sample in gold, dark blue, black and burgundy, and collaged together with a red sun rubber stamp image, a piece of a celestial map from an encyclopedia, an image of an old tarot card, and a medieval lady.

The "flip" side is covered with burgundy wallpaper, two old tarot card images framed with gold crinkle paper, and a bizarre medieval illustration collaged onto a distressed medieval bit of ephemera.

The tassel is made from distressed strips of various fabrics: maroon upholstery fabric, multicolor upholstery fabric, blue/black textured polyester, burgundy lace, indigo lace, and green/gold trim.

A great way to hold your spot in your favorite illuminated manuscript. :)

Collage Travel Tags/Embellishments from recycled materials

This listing is for the pictured set of 9 tags.(There are five in the main picture, the other four are in the second picture) Each tag was handmade by me from recycled cardboard packaging. The tags measure 1 1/2" x 2 1/4", and are white (and blank) on the backs.

Each tag is unique and was collaged together using various scraps from other projects such as maps, postage stamps, image scraps, handmade paper bits, etc., and accented with colorful fibers and ribbons to match the design.

The theme of the group is world travel, so naturally there are various ethnic elements (asian papers, paris street maps, foreign language snippets, etc.) throughout.

Ideal for scrapbooking embellishments, altered books/art, or gift tags! Add some fun from around the globe to your projects!

Grimey Coffin Tags made from Recycled Cardboard

This hideous listing is for a dreadful handmade set of 8 revolting tags made from recycled cardboard packaging. The atrocious details on these are varied, so no two are the same. The backs are blank. They measure 4" high and 2" across at the widest point.

I mangled the cardboard by first smearing and rubbing it viciously with brown and black ink. My next vile deed was to stamp it repeatedly with various skulls and other spooky stamps (several of which I carved mercilessly myself), and then splattered with black ink. As the cardboard was screaming in terror I cut it into coffin shapes and laughed maniacally as I punched holes in the top through which I then strung tattered lace embellished with plastic death head beads.

Then I smiled malevolently, thinking that these would be great to use for terrible crimes like scrapbooking, altered art, making goody bags, or even such despicable uses as...small bookmarks.

If you hate cardboard as much as I do, then perhaps you will enjoy its further torture by finding a place in your blackened heart for these piteous pieces of paper.

On the sheet are 9 different Loteria Cards in 3 different sizes that were collaged together by me.

You will recieve a 8 1/2" x 11" 300dpi JPG or PDF (please specify in the message to seller box which you would prefer) via email within 24 to 48 hours of ordering. Obviously, no need for shipping costs! Yay!

The watermarks will of course not appear in the purchased file. Please note that colors sometimes appear differently on different monitors.

You may print as many as you like for YOUR ARTWORK provided you respect the terms of use.

Terms of Use:

You may use these in making your handmade crafts: collage, jewelry, scrapbooking, ATC, ACEO, Altered art,magnets, bookmarks etc. for both personal use and in TANGIBLE handcrafted items which you intend to sell.

Exotic Travels Bookmark

This bookmark was collaged on to a base of cereal box cardboard.

The "front" side is covered with pieces of a map of spain, "passport stamps" from a credit card solicitation, scraps from a cost plus bag, and printed images of geishas and an Egyptian scarab.

On the "flip" side, we see decorative paper with a postcard theme, a scrap of a paris map stamped with a fleur de lis, a postage stamp sticker, an image of asian money and a chinese fortune.

The tassel is made from distressed strips of various fabrics: green china silk,orange embroidered china silk, gold/purple china silk,maroon upholstery fabric, and cream upholstery fabric. It is accented with brigthly colored wooden beads.

Whether you are marking a page in your Fodor's travel guide, or sitting on the riviera reading Baudelaire, this bookmark will certainly help you not lose your place.

Playing Card Bookmark

This bookmark was collaged on to a base of cereal box cardboard.

The "front" side is covered with black paper from a wallpaper sample book, and decorated with various snippets from a playing card package, card scraps, and tiny playing cards. The Queen of Spades is on the front.

On the "flip" side, we again see the black paper embellished by various playing card bits, but with the King of Spades at the top.

The tassel is made from distressed strips of various fabrics: Black chiffon, hand dyed red brocade, red sparkly polyester, red and black velvet flocked fabric, and black cotton.

A great gift for card playing fanatics, perhaps even a lucky charm at the poker table. :)

***5 sheets of handmade recycled paper (made from junkmail)-some are marbled, flower petal inclusions, tea leaves, glitter, etc.

***2 vintage dictionary pages, 1 vintage encyclopedia page, 1 page from a vintage crossword puzzle dictionary, 1 page of vintage ads, and one vintage page from an old reader's digest story (All this stuff dates back from the late 40's to the early 60's)

***a colorful selection of handmade handmarbled paper scraps left over from other projects (great for writing or stamping accent words on, using for borders/frames, punching, etc.

***4 different playing cards, (including a round one!) one formica sample (they make great heavy duty tags!)

***6 assorted handstamped paper embellishments- (made from handmade paper and the stamps are handcarved too!) that can be used as is or trimmed around the edges and applied.

***a small handfull of fancy fabric scraps (brocades, metallics, upholstery fabrics, etc. and small colorful trim scraps- just the right size for ATCs!
