This necklace combines textured rose-gold-filled chain with beads in a variety of pinks: smooth rose quartz, vintage-looking coppery rose and pink pearls, luxurious rhodochrosite, subtle rhodonite, and one spectacular Venetian glass bead lined in silver and gold foil. I made this necklace extra long, at about 40 inches. The necklace closes with a toggle clasp surrounded by tiny rose quartz beads. Rose gold gets its color from the copper in it.

I’ve created matching earrings, also available in my shop, using vintage-looking pink pearls, rose-gold-filled earwires and rose-gold-vermeil pins.

This necklace is made of mosaic turquoise beads that are primarily aqua blue and moss colored. Each bead is a startlingly lovely work of art! Zoom in to see the amazing detail! This necklace combines red jasper with exquisite wood beads handpainted in Yorkshire, England, by a very talented fellow Etsian: Sweet Cherry Pie, http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5450749. It reminds me of walking through the flower markets of Amsterdam, looking at the amazing varieties and colors of tulips and gerber daisies.

The red jasper gemstone beads are a rusty orange color and are shiny and lovely. The gorgeous handpainted wood beads have an orange base with rosey-orangey-red-brown flowers. Zoom in and take a look! I’ve finished the necklace with a pretty brass pewter toggle clasp that’s super easy to use.

Rusty Orange Color Block Necklace

In this double-strand color block necklace, I’ve completely indulged my love of enormous beads! The necklace is still fairly lightweight, though, because these bold beads are made of wood.

The beads at the top of the necklace are a neutral beige color and are fairly small at 10mm (24.5mm = 1 inch). The next beads are a medium brown and are about 14mm. My favorite part of this necklace are the enormous (20mm!) rusty orange beads. The toggle clasp is antiqued gold pewter.

This is truly a statement necklace!

Rose Quartz and Vintage Copper Twist Necklace

The first time I saw the two vintage copper twist beads I included in this piece, I actually sucked in my breath! I’ve never seen anything like these two beads from the 1960s -- the copper has the most beautiful pink glow. The natural rose quartz beads are a lovely light pink color; they’re big, 12mm (about half an inch) in size, to go with the sizable (20mm by 12mm) copper twists. I added a bright copper clasp and subtle pink seed beads to complete the piece.

This necklace is 34 inches long and can be doubled to wear short. It's a heavy necklace -- wonderfully substantial! If you'd like for me to make the necklace with slightly smaller beads so it's lighter, please convo me.

Hot Pink Peony Bracelet - Jade and Sterling Silver

This bracelet combines the most amazing jade beads with sterling silver chain that I oxidized myself. Each hot pink bead is decadently large and looks like a peony in full bloom (albeit an abstract one!). The bright color contrasts with the deep charcoal of the 6mm silver chain. The jade beads are 18mm wide (24.5mm = 1 inch). Have a look at the last picture to see how the bracelet falls perfectly over the wrist!

This bracelet is almost 8 inches long in total and is adjustable. It fits wrists up to 7.25 inches. You can adjust the bracelet by locking the lobster clasp into any of the links on the chain and letting the rest of the chain dangle. Snorkeling in Wainapanapa Necklace - Turquoise, Coral, Sterling Silver

A long time ago I went snorkeling on a black sand beach along the Road to Hana. The water was the exact color of these turquoise beads -- an amazing blue-green. Having grown up in Los Angeles, I couldn’t have imagined there was actually ocean water this color! :) The bright red coral bead I’ve set asymmetrically against the turquoise reminds me of the vivid sea life I could see even before submerging in that lovely water. In between each large bead is a tiny, luxurious blue topaz bead. I've finished the necklace with a shimmery sterling silver toggle clasp.

Each turquoise oval bead is about an inch (25mm) long. The entire necklace is about 18.5 inches. Convo me if you’d like a different length.

This necklace combines gorgeous golden brown bronzite gemstone beads with exquisite wood beads handpainted in Yorkshire, England, by a very talented fellow Etsian: Sweet Cherry Pie, http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5450749

The painted beads are 18mm and 12mm (24.5mm = 1 inch). Each wooden bead was handpainted with tiny flowers. Zoom in to have a closer look! I've alternated these beads with bronzite of various sizes (16, 10 and 8mm). Each bronzite bead is unique -- the gemstone is subtly sparkly with metallic flecks.

Rainbow Soocho Jade Bracelet - With Garnet and Sterling Silver

This bracelet makes a colorful, feminine, bold statement. The gorgeous gemstone beads are called rainbow soocho jade. I’ve separated each jade bead with a tiny garnet gemstone bead and finished the bracelet with a hammered sterling silver toggle clasp.

The exact color combination of each strand varies (yours will be unique!). The colors are a bit more muted than the Rainbow Soocho Jade Necklace (made of the same gemstone), also available in my shop. The colors on the bracelet generally include greens, browns and pinkish burgundy. The necklace and bracelet coordinate beautifully with each other.

The beads in this bracelet are 14mm (between half-an-inch and two-thirds of an inch), and the bracelet is about 8 inches long. This length fits a 6.5-inch wrist perfectly but fits a range of wrist sizes from 6 to 7 inches. Let me know if you'd like a different length.

Carnival Necklace - Carnelian, Vintage Chalcedony and Vintage Brass

I designed this necklace to frame the three gorgeous, vintage, coral-colored chalcedony beads you see here. In the end, though, I decided I loved the wild, retro, festive combination of colors and textures just as much as I loved the original beads. In addition to the 30-year-old coral pink chalcedony, I’ve used vintage brass beads from the 1960s. Surrounding these vintage goodies are luscious carnelian gemstone beads that are shiny reddish-brownish orange. I finished the necklace with tiny brass spacer beads and a brass pewter toggle clasp.

Half Wild Necklace - Dalmatian Jasper, Onyx, Sterling Silver

I bought these beads when I was in the mood for animal print -- done tastefully, of course, and definitely faux. :) These exotic beads were just the thing (although the gemstone beads are in fact real dalmatian jasper and black onyx). The neutral colors keep the necklace from being over the top, which is how the necklace got its name. Half wild is still a long way from tame, though.

I’ve mixed stunning dalmatian jasper, which has a beige background with brown and black spots, with shiny black onyx -- all in a 10mm (between one-third and one-half of an inch) round shape. I’ve finished the necklace with tiny black glass seed beads and a bright sterling silver toggle clasp. Wear it long, at about 35.5 inches, or double it up. The primary gemstone beads in this necklace are a soft, watery blue color -- the stone, amazonite, is named after the Amazon River. I’ve combined them with super shiny black onyx and subtly sparkly pyrite, also called Fool’s Gold. Placed among the gemstones are incredible vintage Lucite beads from the 1960s. These Japanese beads combine black, teal and gold in a splatter pattern. In between each of these beads I've place a tiny brass separator bead. I’ve finished the necklace with a brass pewter toggle clasp.

The Big Sky Necklace - With Agate and Vintage Brass

These amazing gemstone beads, called larimar blue crazy lace agate, remind me of fluffy clouds floating in the bluest of blue skies. The color is somewhere between ocean and sky, with a twist of aqua in the mix. In this round shape, the beads look more like the sky than the water. I’ve combined the agate with vintage brass beads, and the contrast makes the blue look even more dramatic! Each of the agate beads is separated with a tiny teal glass bead. I finished the necklace with a brass pewter toggle clasp, so you can double the necklace easily if you’d like to do so.

This super-feminine necklace is made of a dark purple gemstone called sugilite. The beads graduate from 6mm to 16mm in size (1 inch = 25.4 mm). The stones are really lovely, and they’re substantial without being heavy. They have some inclusions that make them unique and mark them as real stone. The spacer beads are pretty purple Czech glass. I’ve finished off this piece with a sterling silver clasp that I’ve oxidized to a rich charcoal color.

This necklace combines one vintage Italian brass bead with big, bold aventurine and tiny, glowing citrine. The rich, earthy colors remind me of Tuscan architecture, so I’ve named the necklace after the medieval bridge over the Arno River in Florence. The colors of each strand of this luscious aventurine vary but generally run from light peach to yellowy orange to reddish orange to terracotta. Red Glass and Oxidized Silver Chain Earrings

Put these earrings on and feel like a siren! These glass beads are true, rich, sultry red. They have a wonderful patina on the edges. Each bead hangs from a sterling silver chain that has been oxidized to a mysterious, deep charcoal color. The chain retains a bit of sparkle through the mostly matte finish. The French hook ear wires are handmade of sterling silver, then oxidized.

Midnight in the Garden Earrings - Sterling Silver, Rhinestones and Gunmetal

These earrings are swingy, feminine and gritty. The bright, clear crystals contrast with the dark gunmetal and oxidized sterling silver, creating a vintage look. The beads are fairly small, at 9mm (about a third of an inch), and I’ve connected them with sterling silver that has been oxidized to a deep shade of charcoal to coordinate with the gunmetal beads. The handmade ear wires are sterling silver as well. The earrings hang a little over 2.25 inches in total.

Law of Opposites Necklace - With Vintage Lucite and Sterling Silver

I’ve been hanging on to these spectacular vintage Lucite berry beads, wondering what to pair them with. Similarly, I fell in love with these swirly teal handmade polymer clay beads but wasn’t sure what to do with them. Then I decided I’d like to see how they looked together: girly girl glamour and earthy gorgeousness! I’ve paired these two scene-stealers with a big turquoise bead and thick sterling silver rolo chain (3.5mm wide) that I’ve oxidized to a deep charcoal color. The necklace closes with an oxidized sterling silver lobster clasp.

The berry bead is 15mm (about two-thirds of an inch) and has an aurora borealis finish. The polymer clay bead is the same size and has a matte finish. The turquoise bead is 16mm. This necklace should fit close to the neck. I can make it whatever length you'd like, but the standard length is about 16 inches. (My own version of this necklace is an extra inch and a half longer to fit me better -- I'll send you the 16-inch version unless you let me know otherwise in the Notes to Seller section of checkout.) This necklace combines icy shades of yellow gemstone beads in a colorblocked pattern with a little bit of sparkle! The golden yellow beads are made of yellow fluorite. The pale yellow, almost clear beads are made of yellow quartz. I also used a few warm vanilla-colored aragonite beads and rhinestone beads for contrast with the icy coolness of the yellow. Each one of these beads by itself is amazing, and I love the effect of the various reds all together. The large focal bead is made of deep ruby-red Venetian glass. I’ve surrounded it with equally luxurious loveliness: There’s a pinkish red vintage fossil bead, two vintage chalcedony beads the deep red of glamorous 1940s lipstick, one bright red fossil bead, one Murano glass bead, one brick-colored red jasper bead -- the rest of the necklace is made of deep orange-red carnelian. Deep Cover Earrings - With Hand-Blown Glass and Sterling Silver

These earrings combine hand-blown hollow glass beads with swingy sterling silver hoops that I’ve oxidized to a rich charcoal color. If you look at these earrings in low light, the red glass is a deep, quiet sort of red -- like red wine. But get them anywhere near a light source and they transform into seductive, sexy, reddest red. I recommend wearing them with your hair up (or with short hair) to let the light come through the glass beads and set the earrings alight!

These earrings are big big big, but they’re lightweight because of the hollowness of the handblown glass beads. The hoops are 40mm across (more than 1.5 inches), and the red beads are 12mm (half-an-inch). The glass charms are removable, in case you’d like the option of wearing the hoops alone. The vintage amber and black glass beads in this necklace remind me of lions, tigers, gazelle -- all kinds of wild animals with gorgeous brown fur and skin. The beads are from the 1950s and they have a matte satin finish. I’ve combined them with plump, semi-matte jet beads and shiny sterling silver. These earrings coordinate beautifully with (but don't match exactly) my Photo Safari Necklace. The glass in the necklace is a bit darker than the glass in the earrings.

The jet beads are 12mm (half-an-inch), and the earrings hang about 2.25 inches from top to bottom. They’re very easy to wear because jet is so lightweight.

Purple Venetian Glass Earrings

When you put on these modern-looking earrings, you’ll be transported back 800 years: Venetian glass-making was developed in medieval times, and many of the same processes are used today. So wear a little history on your ears! These earrings combine 1-inch sterling silver hoops with swingy light purple (almost pink) Venetian glass. The beads have a white core surrounded by amethyst colored glass, resulting in a light-medium color -- somewhere between amethyst and lilac. I've set them on handmade sterling silver pins. The beads are 10mm (25.4mm = 1 inch), and the earrings are 1.5 inches total. If you would like these beads suspended from sterling silver hooks instead of hoops, convo me.

The final picture shows these earrings with a bracelet made with a larger version of these beads (along with purple sugilite stones). They make a nice, not-too-matchy-matchy combo!

Amethyst Necklace with Cloisonne Beads

This necklace makes you feel glamorous and fun at the same time, and what’s sexier than that? The beads are lustrous, dark, Grade A natural amethyst -- beautiful quality and color! Interspersed among the stones are three red and purple cloisonné beads that remind me of tiny umbrellas or carousels; two tiny amethyst beads surround each of these small wonders. The necklace is constructed of the highest quality wire, which just happens to be red, so the small amount of wire that peeks through adds to the design rather than detracting from it. The lobster clasp is gold-filled.

The amethyst beads are 8mm (about a third of an inch). The necklace is about 31 inches long and slips easily over your head. Plus, since it closes with a clasp, it can be doubled to wear as a very short necklace. Convo me before purchasing if you'd like a different length.

Storm Clouds Bracelet - Venetian Glass, Larvikite, Sterling Silver

I made this bracelet to go with my Stormy Sea Necklace. The pair complement each other but aren’t too matchy-matchy. The larvikite beads (sometimes called black labradorite) are mostly charcoal color with flecks of black and lighter gray -- they have some flashy sparkle, too. They're gorgeously huge, at 16mm (24.5mm = 1 inch). I’ve placed one dramatic gray Venetian glass bead at the end of the bracelet, next to the shiny sterling silver toggle clasp. The small spacer beads are sterling silver.

This bracelet is about 8.5 inches long and fits a larger wrist (7-inch wrist), but I can make one in your size if that doesn’t work for you. Bracelets with large beads need to be longer than bracelets with smaller beads in order to fit the same way.

This necklace combines vintage Lucite beads in the most beautiful shade of sunset orange with antiqued brass-plated chain. The beads really are stunning -- they're a dark amber, a vivid harvest color you'd see on a tree in New England in the fall.

Each teardrop bead is big, at about an inch (25mm) long. The chain is about a third of an inch (7mm) wide. The total length of the necklace is about 19.5 inches. The necklace closes with a lobster clasp. If you’d like your necklace to be a different length, convo me.

This piece combines modern-looking, genuine black onyx beads with show-stopping sparkle! The onyx beads are 10mm in size and are subtly pretty. The silver-plated rhinestone fireballs are also about 10mm but couldn’t be more different from their companions -- there’s nothing subtle about the all-out glamour of these beads! The sterling silver toggle clasp and accent beads are bright and shiny.

Planet Earth Necklace - Larimar Blue Crazy Lace Agate and Sterling Silver

This necklace is made of a gorgeous gemstone called Larimar blue crazy lace agate. Each of these beads looks like a picture of the earth from space -- the swirling, changing, vivid blue of the atmosphere. This breathtaking blue is also the color of the sky on a brisk, sunny fall day.

These beads are spectacular on their own (there are swirls of white and brown among the blue), so this necklace is simple: I've separated each agate bead with a tiny brown glass bead and finished the necklace with an adjustable sterling silver toggle clasp.

Each agate bead is 14mm (between half and two-thirds of an inch). The necklace adjusts from about 18 to 20 inches.

This necklace combines glossy, rusty red gemstone beads with pyrite, aragonite and rose-gold-filled beads. The gemstone beads themselves are 10mm each and are so lovely! (24.5mm = 1 inch) The deep orange-red is smooth, shiny carnelian. Next are beads made of pyrite, also called fool’s gold. The orange-red rust beads are natural red jasper. There are also matte aragonite beads, which are a golden ivory color, and 6mm rose-gold-filled bead accents. I used tiny brown spacer beads and a copper clasp.

This piece combines modern-looking, genuine turquoise beads with vintage ribbed brass beads. At 16mm, the turquoise beads are gorgeous and huge; the 14mm brass beads are subtle and lovely. I’ve placed tiny blue topaz seed beads between each bead and added a retro-looking brass clasp.

Bracelets with large beads need to be longer than bracelet you’d normally wear. This particular bracelet is about 8.5 inches and fits a larger wrist (wrist measurement of 7 inches), perfect for us plus-sized women. This necklace combines so many wonderful things! I used mirror-shiny, vintage onyx gemstone beads that are 30 years old; carved jet beads; spectacular lava beads to contrast with the smooth gemstones; and one fine silver Hill Tribes bead. Each of these beads is a whopping 16mm (24.5mm = 1 inch). The necklace isn't heavy, however, because lava is so lightweight. I finished the necklace with sterling silver spacer beads and a gorgeous fine silver Hill Tribes toggle clasp. This necklace is about 19 inches long.

I originally made this necklace for my friend Julie. She likes glamour and symmetry, so I decided to combine shiny, almost shimmery white dolomite marble with two exotic, matte black beads made to look like vintage cinnabar. This necklace combines all sorts of beautiful blue beads with silver chain and wire. The colors in the vintage cloisonné bead in this necklace remind me of medieval tapestries -- the way they would have been originally, before centuries faded their bright colors. The bead has raised enamel cloisonné on a gold background -- the pattern is Chinese. It’s at least 30 years old. I set this treasure among modern gemstone beads made of gorgeously vivid blue agate. I finished the necklace with a brass pewter toggle clasp and blue-green seed beads.

Each agate bead is 12mm (about half-an-inch). The necklace is almost 34.5 inches in length. This is a heavy necklace -- wonderfully substantial!

My Own Way Necklace - Onyx, Cinnabar and Pyrite

This piece combines modern-looking, shiny black onyx beads with a matte, lipstick red, carved cinnabar bead and two pyrite nuggets. I finished it off with a bright sterling silver clasp and black spacer beads.

This necklace was inspired by early ’80s style, in particular the Duran Duran video for the song that this bracelet is named after. The vibrant black and red, almost flamenco-looking style of that video has stuck in my mind all these years. (My best friend Tina had a copy of the probably-not-suitable-for-junior-high-school-age collection of Duran Duran videos, and we used to sneak off to watch it.) :)

The necklace is 36.5 inches long and also looks great doubled. The black beads are 10mm each, and the cinnabar bead is about 1.25 inches.

I named these bracelets after the wall built 1900 years ago by the Roman Emperor Hadrian to keep the Picts of ancient Scotland from crossing into Roman-occupied Britain. (I’ve always found the mysterious Picts to be fascinating!)

One day I was wearing my Law of Opposites Necklace, and a friend said, “Oooh, what are those sparkly beads?! You should make a necklace entirely out of those!” So I did. Other than the oxidized sterling silver clasp, this necklace is made entirely out of the most wonderful, luxurious, vintage Lucite berry beads with a gorgeous aurora borealis finish. It also happens to be extremely comfortable and lightweight -- it’s the jewelry equivalent of a cashmere sweater.

Each bead is 16mm (between one-half and two-thirds of an inch). The necklace adjusts from about 16.5 to about 18.5 inches. Convo me if you'd like a different length.

Antelope Canyon Necklace - Sterling Silver Chain With Vintage Fossil, 1960s Lucite and Brass

This necklace combines three earthy, gorgeous beads: a vintage mod Lucite bead from the 1960s, a vintage etched brass bead that has a rich, almost-copper color to it, and a vintage fossil bead that's the color of red earth in the desert Southwest. To contrast with the warm colors of these beads, I've set them on sterling silver that I oxidized myself. The links on the sterling chain have a wonderful surface that makes even the deep charcoal color flash with light. The necklace closes with a sterling silver lobster clasp.

The beads in this necklace are 11-12mm (about half-an-inch). This necklace should fit close to the neck. I can make it whatever length you'd like, but the standard length is about 16 inches. (My own version of this necklace is an extra inch and a half longer to fit me better -- I'll send you the 16-inch version unless you let me know otherwise in the Notes to Seller section of checkout.) This necklace combines fluorite gemstone beads with tiny amethyst rounds. The fluorite beads are beautiful shades of blue, purple and watery green. Each bead is more lovely than the last!

This necklace has all the drama of a Victorian novel! Mirror-shiny vintage teardrops swing from gold-filled chain. These beautiful vintage beads are made of black glass. The chain is sizable (4.5mm round links) but delicate. I've finished the necklace with a gold-filled lobster clasp.

The necklace in this picture is about 20 inches and falls perfectly on a plus size woman (above a v-neckline). This piece combines luscious, vivid teal glass beads with show-stopping sparkle! The ocean blue beads are 8mm (about one-third of an inch) and are subtly pretty -- and so unusual looking! The gunmetal rhinestone fireballs in this necklace are also about 8mm and are all-out glamorous! I've oxidized a sterling silver clasp to coordinate with the charcoal gunmetal of the fireball beads, and I've added an oxidized sterling silver extender chain with a tiny, beautiful crystal at the end.

This bracelet is a collection of stones and metal beads that are all stunning on their own, but I love the effect of them together even more: the cool turquoise and smooth, sparkly bronzite with the warm, vintage brass and vintage copper. The turquoise beads are bright and huge, at 16mm (almost 2/3 inch). The bronzite beads are 16mm and are a spectacular combination of chocolate brown and bronze. The 14mm ribbed brass beads are from the 1960s, and the single vintage copper bead is from that decade as well and is made of Lucite covered with woven copper metal beads. My favorite part of this bracelet is the fun brass clasp that pulls it all together.

Bracelets with large beads need to be longer than bracelets you’d normally wear. This particular bracelet is about 7.75 inches and fits a smaller wrist. However, I’d be happy to resize it to your particular specifications. Just let me know your measurements (the smallest and largest parts of your wrist).

Modern Hatshepsut Necklace - Lapis Lazuli and Sterling Silver

Whenever I see lapis lazuli, I think of ancient Egypt. Lapis has been mined for so long that it was around during predynastic Egypt (although it was even mined 3000 years before that time). The ancient Egyptians used it in everything from jewelry to eye shadow. Cleopatra and Nefertiti may be the most famous of the ancient Egyptian queens, but my favorite has always been Hatshepsut, the woman who was a queen but who also made herself pharaoh. I created this necklace as a modern tribute to her.

Each bright blue lapis stone is 12mm by 16mm (24.5mm = 1 inch). I’ve used tiny sterling silver separator beads and an adjustable sterling silver clasp. The necklace adjusts from about 18 inches to 19.5 inches.

The pink and silver Italian beads in this necklace were made in the 1930s and are so drop-dead gorgeous that I named them after a movie starring Sophia Loren, the Italian sex symbol who was also born in that decade. Zoom in to see the amazing baroque glass lined in silver. I’ve paired these rare finds with German vintage glass beads in a dark pearly silver color, made in the 1940s and just as lovely as the Italian beads. I've surrounded them with 12mm (half-an-inch) crystal quartz beads that are very high quality and perfectly clear. Faye Necklace - Olive Jade and a Vintage Tuareg Bead

I made this necklace for a friend's birthday. I thought the olive jade would bring out her hazel eyes, which it does, beautifully! It turned out I liked the result so much, even on the non-hazel-eyed among us, that I decided to add the design to my shop.

This necklace combines smooth, shiny olive jade (serpentine) rondelles with tiny antiqued brass spacer beads and an antiqued brass pewter toggle clasp. The accent bead (set asymmetrically) is a brass bead made many years ago by the Tuareg people of Mali. The bead is vintage and exotic but also very modern-looking, too.

The jade beads are 14x10mm (24.5mm = 1 inch), and the necklace is about 19 inches long. Necklaces with large beads fit more closely than those with smaller beads, so it fits similarly to an 18-inch necklace.

The word amethyst comes from the ancient Greek meaning “not drunken” because the gemstone was supposed to protect its owner from drunkenness. A Hot Day in Rome Necklace - Orange Calcite, Aragonite, Murano Glass

You’ve spent a long afternoon exploring the Colosseum and walking on 2000-year-old Roman roads. Just as you're about to grab a nap before heading out for the evening, you spot a gelato shop. That’s what this asymmetrical necklace reminds me of: The calcite gemstone beads have swirls of orange and vanilla; the creamy yellow aragonite looks like vanilla with a little bit of lemon; the two topaz Murano glass beads reflect the sun on the hot pavement outside.

I've finished this necklace with beautiful, tiny citrine gemstone beads between each of the other beads, and the necklaces closes with a brass pewter toggle clasp. The necklace is long, at about 37 inches, and it doubles easily.

Turquoise Color Block Necklace

In this double-strand color block necklace, I’ve completely indulged my love of enormous beads! The necklace is still fairly lightweight, though, because these bold beads are made of wood.

The beads at the top of the necklace are a neutral beige color and are fairly small at 10mm (24.5mm = 1 inch). The next beads are a deep brown and are about 14mm. My favorite part of this necklace are the enormous (20mm!) turquoise beads. The toggle clasp is antiqued gold pewter.

This is truly a statement necklace!

This bracelet combines blues, greens and grays into a moodily gorgeous whole. It makes me think of the line in Princess Bride when Buttercup describes Wesley as having “eyes like the sea after a storm.” ;) All the beads are huge at 16mm (1 inch = 25.4mm). This is a substantial bracelet! Every bead is a gemstone except for one spectacular gray Venetian glass bead that I’m absolutely in love with. The beads include peacock blue apatite, bright smooth turquoise, carved turquoise, carved malachite and amazingly iridescent larvikite beads. The spacer beads are sterling silver rounds, and the clasp is an unusual sterling toggle. Enlarge the pictures to see these lovely stones and the fantastic clasp up close!

This necklace reminds me of the Ice Hotel in Sweden, above the Arctic Circle -- shimmering buildings carved from ice! I tried to re-create the glowing beauty of the hotel by using two strands of high-quality crystal quartz beads, highlighted with super-shiny sterling silver beads scattered throughout. I've finished the necklace with an adjustable sterling silver hook-and-eye clasp.

This necklace combines rich blue lapis lazuli gemstone beads with one pyrite bead, set asymmetrically. The crackly pyrite (also called fool’s gold) glows against the night-sky-blue lapis. The effect is very subtle –- like a starry night instead of blinding daylight. Lapis has pyrite in it, so the solid pyrite bead especially compliments the other beads. This necklace combines blues, greens and grays into a moodily gorgeous whole. It makes me think of the line in Princess Bride when Buttercup describes Wesley as having “eyes like the sea after a storm.” ;) Every bead is a gemstone except for one spectacular gray Venetian glass bead that I’m absolutely in love with. The beads include blue apatite, bright smooth turquoise, carved turquoise and carved malachite. The necklace is primarily made of amazingly iridescent larvikite beads. Enlarge the pictures to see these lovely stones up close! The spacer beads are sterling silver rounds, and the clasp is a lightweight sterling silver toggle. Hot Lava Necklace - With Onyx, Jet, Lava, Fine Silver

This necklace contains combines so many wonderful things! I used mirror-shiny, onyx gemstone beads; spectacular lava beads to contrast with the smooth onyx; two carved jet beads; and one fine silver Hill Tribes bead. I finished the necklace with sterling silver spacer beads and a gorgeous fine silver Hill Tribes toggle clasp.

***Each of the beads is 12mm (half-an-inch). Please note that the jet beads I am now using for this necklace are shaped like a knot and are smaller than the carved beads pictured (they're the same size as the onyx and lava beads in the necklace). Convo me if you'd like to see a picture.***

Screen Siren Necklace - Mother of Pearl and Swarovski Crystal

The beads in this necklace remind me of the glamorous movie stars of the 1940s. There’s something about the combination of mother of pearl with sparkly Swarovski crystals that makes me think of sultry, strong-willed screen sirens who knew what they wanted and how to get it.

I’ve combined 10mm mother of pearl beads (zoom in to see the gorgeous, swirly, shiny and yet matte cream color of these lovelies) with Swarovski silver-plated rhinestone rondelles. 24.5mm = 1 inch. The necklace measures about 18 inches in length and is finished with a sterling silver toggle clasp.

Mini Diva Necklace

I named the original Diva Necklace (also available in my shop) after my friend Renee, who runs the shop decoratethediva, since she loves pink so much! This version of the necklace, the Mini Diva, is for people who want the same show-stopping glamour but prefer slightly smaller beads. Each genuine rose quartz bead in the Mini Diva is 16mm (24.5mm = 1 inch), compared to 20mm in the original Diva Necklace. The spheres are slightly translucent pink. I’ve separated them with iridescent glass beads and finished the necklace with a gorgeous Hill Tribes fine silver toggle clasp. Get ready to turn heads when you wear this necklace!

Girl in Blue Necklace - With Vintage Porcelain and Sterling Silver

Even though the blue and white porcelain bead in this necklace is vintage Chinese, it reminds me of delft from the Netherlands. I’ve given this bead, which is more than 30 years old and displays the symbol for longevity, a modern twist by setting it asymmetrically among deep blue fossil beads and tiny mother of pearl spacers. The fossil beads are 12mm (half-an-inch) and are a lovely, rich blue -- somewhere between cobalt and navy. The clasp is a shiny sterling silver toggle.

My Own Way Bracelet

This piece combines modern-looking, shiny black onyx beads with a matte, lipstick red, carved cinnabar bead. The red is bright and is on the brick side rather than the pink side. I also have a gorgeous vintage cinnabar bead of the same size that's a true red (it coordinates well with the My Own Way Necklace) -- I don't yet have any pictures of the bracelet with that bead, but convo me if you'd like to see it! I've finished off this bracelet with a bright, hammered sterling silver clasp and small sterling silver spacer beads.

This bracelet was inspired by early ’80s style, in particular the Duran Duran video for the song that this bracelet is named after. The vibrant black and red, almost flamenco-looking style of that video has stuck in my mind all these years. (My best friend Tina had a copy of the probably-not-suitable-for-junior-high-school-age collection of Duran Duran videos, and we used to sneak off to watch it.) :)

Bracelets with larger beads need to be longer than other bracelets to fit the same way. The bracelet in the picture is about 7.5 inches long, which fits a smaller wrist, but I can easily adjust it to fit an average or a large wrist (or to your specific measurements). This necklace is made of hand-blown hollow glass that is unbelievably lightweight. The glass is actually fairly strong, too, as I know from having accidentally knocked my own necklace off the dresser! The beads are gorgeously retro (and also very modern) in bright cobalt blue. Between each hollow bead is a small silvery blue glass bead. The necklace closes with a sterling silver toggle clasp that I've oxidized to a rich charcoal color.

The beads in this necklace graduate from 12mm (half-an-inch) to a whopping 25mm (a little more than an inch). The necklace is about 19.5 inches long. Convo me if you'd like a different length.

Snapdragon Necklace - Hand-Blown Glass and Vintage 1960s Lucite

This necklace combines hand-blown glass beads with an amazing vintage Lucite bead from the 1960s. The hollow glass beads are unbelievably lightweight and fairly strong, too, as I know from having accidentally knocked my own necklace off the dresser! The vintage Lucite bead is a lighter violet purple color and is absolutely stunning -- semi-matte with a subtle glow. The glass beads are a deeper, richer purple. I’ve set the Lucite asymmetrically among the glass and finished the necklace with an adjustable sterling silver toggle clasp that I’ve oxidized to a deep charcoal color.

The glass beads are 15mm (about two-thirds of an inch), and the Lucite bead is 34mm by 30mm (about 1.5 inches by 1.25 inches). The necklace adjusts from about 17.5 to 19.5 inches.

This bracelet is made of stunning green mosaic turquoise beads that remind me of Ballachulish, a lovely town in Scotland. Everything in Ballachulish is greener than green -- mossy greens, vivid greens, brownish greens -- and each of these beads contains all those colors. Each is a startlingly lovely work of art! Zoom in to see them! Each measures 20mm (24.5mm = 1 inch) long. I’ve finished off this piece with an antiqued brass pewter toggle and antiqued brass spacer beads.

This color combination of deep red and black reminds me of something Mae West might have worn in a movie about the Old West -- a glamorous lacy corset or a jaunty hat. I’ve given this combo a modern (and office-appropriate) interpretation by combining lovely dark red lampworked glass beads with one mirror-shiny, vintage onyx octahedron. These earrings combine handmade 1-inch sterling silver oval hoops with swingy vintage glass teardrop beads. The beads are the most amazing shade of green, just a tad on the teal side. They’re vintage, made in West Germany in the 1950s, and they have swirls etched into their satiny finish -- such tiny works of art! It’s anachronistic of me to think this, but the beads look a bit Art Deco. The beads are about 11mm long (25mm = 1 inch), and the entire earrings hang about 1.25 inches.

Against the Grain Necklace - Agate and a Vintage Tuareg Bead

I've made this necklace with a gemstone called wooden agate. Set asymmetrically among the agate is a vintage brass bead made by the Tuareg people of Mali.

Wooden agate beads vary in color from a light grayish brown to a deep earth brown, with everything in between. In the last picture, I’ve shown two of these necklaces to demonstrate some of the variation among strands of this gemstone. I’ve finished the necklace with tiny brass spacer beads and a brass pewter toggle clasp.

Each wooden agate bead is about half-an-inch (12mm, and the necklace is about 18 inches long.

Rock Candy Necklace - Rock Crystal, Sterling Silver and Vintage Tuareg Bead

This necklace combines the most wonderful matte rock crystal nuggets with oxidized sterling silver and a bead handmade by the Tuareg people in Mali.

The matte finish of the rock crystal contrasts with the faceting of these beads to give a modern look -- the contrast results in stones that are truly unusual and quite stunning! I’ve been holding on to these amazing rock crystal beads for quite a while now, not sure what to do with them. Then I found the handmade silver-colored metal bead made by the Tuareg people many years ago. I added some sterling silver beads and a lightweight sterling silver toggle clasp that I oxidized myself, and this necklace was born!

Each of the rock crystal beads is about an inch long (24-25mm). The necklace is about 19 inches long. Disco Wrecking Ball Earrings - Vintage Austrian Crystal and Sterling Silver

These earrings combine vintage, faceted Austrian crystal beads with industrial-looking oxidized sterling silver chain. The beads sit on beautiful handmade sterling pins, and the chain hangs from French hook earwires also handmade of sterling silver. All the silver has been oxidized to a pretty charcoal color.

The beads are very reflective and are between a quarter- and half-an-inch (10mm) long. The earrings measure 3.25 inches (about 8.25cm) total, including the earwires. If that’s too long for you, let me know and I’ll shorten them before shipping.

Rusty Geometry Necklace - With Carnelian, Pyrite, Red Jasper, Aragonite

This necklace combines glossy, rusty red gemstone beads with pyrite and aragonite in a striking pattern that appeals to the math nerd in me. The beads themselves are big (half-an-inch or 12mm each) and are so lovely -- zoom in to see them up close! The deep orange-red at the bottom of the necklace is smooth, shiny carnelian. Next in line are beads made of pyrite, also called fool’s gold. The beads above those are natural red jasper -- these are an orange-red rust color. On top are matte aragonite beads, which are a golden ivory color. I used tiny brown separator beads and an antiqued brass pewter toggle clasp.

This necklace is about 33 inches long, and it also looks good doubled (check your neck measurement to see if doubling works for you -- large beads make necklaces fit smaller). The necklace is substantial -- these are real gemstone beads so they’re not lightweight! If you'd like for me to make the necklace with slightly smaller beads so it's lighter, convo me. Dinner by the Water Bracelet - Carnelian and Sterling Silver

These amazing carnelian beads look like glitzy beach pebbles -- the shapes and patterns are all a bit different -- and the colors are those of a vivid sunset. I’ve combined the reddish, rusty, peachy orange carnelian with bright sterling silver. The end result reminds me of an evening on some tropical beach. Take your pick whether you’re sitting in a romantic restaurant or whether you’ve brought a basket full of goodies and are sitting on the sand.

The flatteringly chunky nuggets range in size from about 12mm (half-an-inch) to about 18mm. The toggle clasp is shiny sterling silver, as are the small beads in between the carnelian. This particular bracelet fits a 6.5- to 7-inch wrist perfectly (note that this is WRIST size rather than bracelet length!), but I would be happy to resize according to your needs. My Favorite Mistake Necklace - Amazonite and Vintage Italian Brass

The gorgeously textured, Italian, vintage brass bead in this necklace originally arrived in the mail by mistake. One of my favorite bead sellers sent me the wrong type of bead by accident -- but I opened the package and was immediately smitten with this nearly 30-year-old bit of loveliness. I decided to create a necklace around it, setting it asymmetrically among beads that are beautiful enough to suit it. Most of the beads are stunning Russian amazonite that are 12mm (half-an-inch) in size. I’ve also used 12mm turquoise and amazonite rounds as well as an amazonite nugget. I’ve separated each bead with tiny teal green glass beads and finished the necklace with a Hill Tribes fine silver toggle clasp.

The necklace is between 18.5 and 19 inches long. If you would like a different length, convo me.

Things on Top of Other Things Earrings - Vintage Chalcedony, Rose Quartz, Sterling Silver

These earrings came together after I searched and searched for something spectacular enough to complement the amazing vintage gray chalcedony octahedron beads. I finally pulled out some sparkly rose quartz beads, and that was that! I’ve never seen anything like these chalcedony beads -- they are the most gorgeous color, a gray with purple and blue undertones. I’ve set these gemstones on sterling silver wire and handmade pins that I’ve oxidized to a rich charcoal color for contrast. The ear wires are handmade sterling silver as well. The chalcedony beads are 12mm (half-an-inch).

The name of these earrings may seem a bit incongruous with the glamorous pink and gray gemstones, but it comes from the Monty Python skit about the Royal Society for Putting Things on Top of Other Things. And, well, in these earrings, I’ve put no fewer than one thing on top of other things. Google the skit and enjoy!

Silk Road Earrings - Vintage Chinese Porcelain, Venetian Glass, Sterling Silver

These earrings combine artistic traditions from East and West. The brilliant cobalt blue beads are Venetian glass, which is made in much the same way now as it was 800 years ago. The lantern-shaped vintage Chinese porcelain beads look like shards of an ancient vase. I’ve set these tiny works of art on sterling silver pins and wire, and I've finished them with handmade sterling silver ear wires.

The Venetian glass beads are 10mm (between one-third and one-half of an inch), and the porcelain beads are about 15mm long (between one-half and three-quarters of an inch).
