Baby hat - Crocheted acylic and rayon

I used Brunswick "sparkle twist" 80% acylic,20% rayon to make this baby hat. Wear over the ears or wear like a baret.

The ribbon is functional as well as giving the hat some extra "pizzaz. Losen the ribbon to open up the hat to it's full size or tighten the ribbon for a snug fit. Hat fits up to from 15" to 17" when measuring around the head just above the eyebrows. The "baby in the picture has a 15" head, but by pulling up on the ribbon, it fits fine. I didn't use a pattern. Just played it by ear the way most of my hats are done. How they come out is interesting sometimes. :D

This lovely variegated acrylic mohair yarn makes a wonderfully soft hat and scarf any little girl would want. The crocheted hat fits 15" to 17" when measureing around head just above the eyebrows. The ends of the knit scarf are sewn together at the base like a mobius so that it slips over the child's head and won't get lost. if laid flat the scarf would measure 4"X32" not counting the fringe.

My little model wears outfits for kids up to 6 months old or outfits for a child weighing 12-18 lbs., but you can see the scarf is down to her knees so it'll fit a taller child than my model who is 24" tall. The pattern is fan and feather.

Child's poncho and matching baret crocheted using a shell trellis stitch. A bit of acrylic mohair trim in variegated pink sets off the white Lion brand micro spun yarn very nicely in this attractive set. I love working with micro spun. It's so soft and drapes beautifully.

Hat fits up to 16 1/2" when measuring around head just above the eyebrows. Poncho will fit easily over the same size head and measures 8" from neck to bottom edge.

Charcoal grey hat with attached scarf. Felting is fun, but takes a lot of time so I don't do too much anymore. Therefore, the felt hats in my store will be the only ones I will be doing, although experience has taught me never to say "never".

I don't know what material the scarf is made of, but it appears to be rayon or something similar. I bought the scarf especially for the hat I made. It was an extra long scarf so I cut it in three pieces and sewed the pieces to the hat.
