Cloudery draws in pen & ink. Each drawing, using pens with points ranging from .2mm to .5mm, takes hours to create. There’s no prior sketching, and neither pencil nor eraser are involved. Unplanned, each grows where the pens take it. Also a chain maille artisan (with a shop at cMaille.etsy.com), I recently described my drawing compared to my other more traditional craft in an interview with Etsy Stalker:

“About a year ago my drawing style changed dramatically. I think that my drawings became very much influenced by my chain maille work: suddenly I am drawing with tiny-tipped pens (fractions of a millimeter) in the same way that I prefer to use the smallest possible rings [for my jewelry]. But I am drawing intricate, organic, abstract shapes that flow in a stream-of-consciousness way—it’s almost like ‘mailling’ on paper except I create the beginnings of patterns and then break, free-form—so, totally unlike chain maille. I guess in my artwork I get to exert my freedom to digress, change course, or just meander; that doesn’t happen with the jewelry.”

A bit more information:

• If you prefer, print can be 8.5 x 11 rather than 8 x 10; it can also be trimmed to the exact size of the original (between 5 x 5 and 8 x 8, but most are 5 x 7)
• With drawings that go right to the edge of the paper, you can either have it printed that way; or printed more towards the center of the page, with a thin black line around the drawing like a frame. See the last listing photo (number 5) to compare these two options.

Would you like to receive your ACEO ready to hang? This listing is for an UPGRADE, available only with the purchase of any Cloudery ACEO. Plywerk panels are handmade in Portland, Oregon "by sandal-wearing tofu-eating bike riders." They're constructed with a cabinet quality solid birch / alder core + a maple face veneer. The wood is FSC-certified to ensure that it is manufactured using environmentally sustainable practices.

Cloudery custom orders the panels in ACEO size (approximately 3.5 x 2.5 inches; see note below); they are 1/2-inch thick. Your ACEO will be mounted onto the panel with a pH-neutral adhesive that protects the image from the natural acids in the wood.

The panel has a keyhole slot in the back, so your small work of art will arrive ready to hang on the wall on a small nail or picture hook. The panels also stand upright, and would look lovely on a bookshelf or table with a little support behind, or placed on a small stand or easel.

>> If you are buying multiple cards, please let me know which card you would like affixed to the panel.

>> Please note that the panels come in either horizontal or vertical orientation (based on the position of the keyhole slot) and are not interchangeable. Please be sure you purchase the correct orientation for the card you want mounted. This listing is for a VERTICAL panel.

>> Plywerk panels are fabricated approximately 1/8th inch smaller than the size ordered — this is necessary, so that when the card is affixed to the panel it can be trimmed exactly flush with the edges. **Therefore the overall size of the mounted artwork panel will actually be about 3.325 x 2.325 inches.**

Would you like to receive your ACEO ready to hang? This listing is for an UPGRADE, available only with the purchase of any Cloudery ACEO. Please do not purchase this item if you are not also buying an ACEO — the sale will be canceled. You can buy more cards than panels, but not more panels than cards...

Plywerk panels are handmade in Portland, Oregon "by sandal-wearing tofu-eating bike riders." They're constructed with a cabinet quality solid birch / alder core + a maple face veneer. The wood is FSC-certified to ensure that it is manufactured using environmentally sustainable practices.

Cloudery custom orders the panels in ACEO size (approximately 2.5 x 3.5 inches; see note below); they are 1/2-inch thick. Your ACEO will be mounted onto the panel with a pH-neutral adhesive that protects the image from the natural acids in the wood.

The panel has a keyhole slot in the back, so your small work of art will arrive ready to hang on the wall on a small nail or picture hook. The panels also stand upright, and would look lovely on a bookshelf or table with a little support behind, or placed on a small stand or easel.

>> Please note that the panels come in either horizontal or vertical orientation (based on the position of the keyhole slot) and are not interchangeable. Please be sure you purchase the correct orientation for the card you want mounted. This listing is for a HORIZONTAL panel.

>> Plywerk panels are fabricated approximately 1/8th inch smaller than the size ordered — this is necessary, so that when the card is affixed to the panel it can be trimmed exactly flush with the edges. **Therefore the overall size of the mounted artwork panel will actually be about 2.325 x 3.325 inches.**

>> Since the back of the card won't be visible, I will title, date, number, and sign the back of the Plywerk panel.

Panels are well-wrapped in protective acid-free glassine; shipped via USPS Priority Mail in a small box in the U.S. and shipped internationally in a small box via first class international mail.

Cloudery draws in pen & ink. Each drawing, using pens with points ranging from .2mm to .5mm, takes hours to create. There’s no prior sketching, and neither pencil nor eraser are involved. Unplanned, each grows where the pens take it. Also a chain maille artisan (with a shop at cMaille.etsy.com), I recently described my drawing compared to my other more traditional craft in an interview with Etsy Stalker:

“About a year ago my drawing style changed dramatically. I think that my drawings became very much influenced by my chain maille work: suddenly I am drawing with tiny-tipped pens (fractions of a millimeter) in the same way that I prefer to use the smallest possible rings [for my jewelry]. But I am drawing intricate, organic, abstract shapes that flow in a stream-of-consciousness way—it’s almost like ‘mailling’ on paper except I create the beginnings of patterns and then break, free-form—so, totally unlike chain maille. I guess in my artwork I get to exert my freedom to digress, change course, or just meander; that doesn’t happen with the jewelry.”

Cloudery draws in pen & ink. Each drawing, using pens with points ranging from .2mm to .5mm, takes hours to create. There’s no prior sketching, and neither pencil nor eraser are involved. Unplanned, each grows where the pens take it. Also a chain maille artisan (with a shop at cMaille.etsy.com), I recently described my drawing compared to my other more traditional craft in an interview with Etsy Stalker:

“About a year ago my drawing style changed dramatically. I think that my drawings became very much influenced by my chain maille work: suddenly I am drawing with tiny-tipped pens (fractions of a millimeter) in the same way that I prefer to use the smallest possible rings [for my jewelry]. But I am drawing intricate, organic, abstract shapes that flow in a stream-of-consciousness way—it’s almost like ‘mailling’ on paper except I create the beginnings of patterns and then break, free-form—so, totally unlike chain maille. I guess in my artwork I get to exert my freedom to digress, change course, or just meander; that doesn’t happen with the jewelry.”

• If you prefer, prints can be 8.5 x 11 rather than 8 x 10; they can also be trimmed to the exact size of the original (between 5 x 5 and 8 x 8, but most are 5 x 7)
• With drawings that go right to the edge of the paper, you can either have them printed that way; or printed more towards the center of the page, with a thin black line around the drawing like a frame. See the last listing photo (number 5) to compare these two options.

Cloudery draws in pen & ink. Each drawing, using pens with points ranging from .2mm to .5mm, takes hours to create. There’s no prior sketching, and neither pencil nor eraser are involved. Unplanned, each grows where the pens take it. Also a chain maille artisan (with a shop at cMaille.etsy.com), I recently described my drawing compared to my other more traditional craft in an interview with Etsy Stalker:

“About a year ago my drawing style changed dramatically. I think that my drawings became very much influenced by my chain maille work: suddenly I am drawing with tiny-tipped pens (fractions of a millimeter) in the same way that I prefer to use the smallest possible rings [for my jewelry]. But I am drawing intricate, organic, abstract shapes that flow in a stream-of-consciousness way—it’s almost like ‘mailling’ on paper except I create the beginnings of patterns and then break, free-form—so, totally unlike chain maille. I guess in my artwork I get to exert my freedom to digress, change course, or just meander; that doesn’t happen with the jewelry.”

Original drawings range from 5 x 7 to 8 x 8 inches. The drawings are reproduced at actual size on 8 x 10 inch paper. At 8 x 10, the giclee prints easily fit a standard frame, or you can matte and/or trim them. The listing photos show 14 different drawings as they'd appear on an 8 x 10 page (please see the end of the listing for a bit more information on sizing and set-up).

• Professionally reproduced by a small independent fine art printery
• Printed on Epson Velvet Fine Art Paper, 100% Cotton Rag, Acid Free Base, 260gsm (lightfastness rated at 61 years)
• Please allow 2–3 weeks for delivery (ordering & processing time, shipping time to me so I can approve the quality, and then shipping time to you).
• Shipped via First Class Mail. Prints packaged in cellophane bag and sent in non-bending photo mailer for protection.

A bit more information:

• If you prefer, prints can be 8.5 x 11 rather than 8 x 10; they can also be trimmed to the exact size of the original (between 5 x 5 and 8 x 8, but most are 5 x 7)
• With drawings that go right to the edge of the paper, you can either have them printed that way; or printed more towards the center of the page, with a thin black line around the drawing like a frame. See the last listing photo (number 5) to compare these two options.
• For either or both of the above options, just let me know at checkout, or I may ask you, based on the drawings you choose.
