Merino Wool Yarn in Lime Green Twist

$22.00
100% Merino Wool (non-superwash)
4oz / 280 yards
11 WPI / DK (double knitting) weight

This 100% merino wool yarn is one of the more interesting yarns I've run across lately. When I got it, it was a uniform cream color. The second I dropped it in my dye pot, though, the magic started... one of the four plies absorbed the dye faster than the other three, so it is darker and gives the entire skein a subtle tweedy effect.

This skein weighs 4 ounces and is roughly 280 yards. It is *NOT* superwash, so it can felt/full/shrink. Hand wash gently in cool water and lay flat to dry. 11 wpi, DK weight.

This yarn is hand-dyed in my smoke-free cat-friendly home in the USA. After I'm done with the dyeing and packaging process, the yarn is stored in plastic bags to keep it away from my cats and their fur, but if you have allergies please take proper precautions.

$2 from the sale of this item will be donated to a fibromyalgia-related charity to further research and education about the disease. Please see my profile for more information.

© 2009 - All text, designs and images are copyright of Jen Hintz and are not to be used without prior consent.

Your days of dreaming are over, my friend!

This listing is for a 3 month subscription. Each month you'll receive one skein of hand-dyed yarn, plus other goodies such as buttons, notions, patterns, etc. You'll even get a discount when purchasing other items from me between shipments!

The Details
____________

1. Shipments within the US will ship via USPS Priority Mail. Shipments to countries other than the US will be sent First Class. All shipping fees are included in this listing; once you pay for this, that's all - you won't owe any further money.

6. Subscriptions shipped to North Carolina are subject to sales tax. Tax will be automatically included when you check out through PayPal.

7. $6 from the sale of this item will be donated to a fibromyalgia-related charity to further research and education about the disease. Please see my profile for more information.

*****Please note that the yarns pictured are not the specific yarns you will receive. They are examples of my past work and are used to give you an idea of the types you might receive. Colors, patterns, and yarn types will vary.

© 2009 - All text, designs and images are copyright of Jen Hintz and are not to be used without prior consent.

It's a rich blend of blue, green, red, and white. I made two skeins of this yarn; this listing is just for one, but if you'd like to buy the other skein too please look for it in my shop or contact me.

This is superwash wool, which means it is resistant to felting/shrinking, but for best results I recommend hand washing in cool water and laying flat to dry.

My home is my studio and I do share it with two cats, but all yarns and fiber are stored in closed containers out of feline range. If you have allergies, please take proper precautions.

$2 from the sale of this item will be donated to a fibromyalgia-related charity to further research and education about the disease. This skein is one of a kind; I may dye and spin more in these colors and this style, but it'll never be *exactly* like this one. That's the beauty of hand-dyed and handspun yarns!

Please note that this is *NOT* superwash wool so it needs to be gently hand-washed in cool water and dried flat unless felting is your intent.

My home is my studio and I do share it with two cats, but all yarns and fiber are stored in closed containers out of feline range. The superwash wool means it is washable and won't shrink/felt/full, and rayon made from bamboo makes it a little cooler for all-season wear.

This skein weighs 4 oz and is roughly 500 yards. It's 65% superwash merino wool and 35% bamboo, and size 2-4 needles are recommended, although I got pleasant results on needles anywhere from a 0 to a 6; it just depends on what you're making.

It's bold cerulean blue with some variations that are more towards cobalt and some that are more sky blue. This skein is one of a kind; I may dye and spin more in these colors and this style, but it'll never be *exactly* like this one.

If you have allergies, please take proper precautions.

$2 from the sale of this item will be donated to a fibromyalgia-related charity to further research and education about the disease.

$18.00
wool and sparkly synthetic fiber
56 yards / 38 grams
Thick and thin ranging from sport to bulky weight but averages out to approximately 9 WPI.

This one of a kind yarn originated as a batt from simplytwisted.etsy.com. It's white wool with liberal doses of sparkle in just about every color of the rainbow. The yarn is 2-ply; one ply has the warm colors in it (red, pink, orange, yellow) and the other has the cool colors (blue, green, violet) so there's a good mix of colors throughout the skein. It really is sparkly - I tried my best, but photos just don't do justice to the sparkle and shine!

Please note that this is *NOT* superwash wool so it needs to be gently hand-washed in cool water and dried flat unless felting is your intent.

My home is my studio and I do share it with two cats, but all yarns and fiber are stored in closed containers out of feline range.

It's luxuriously soft and would make a pair of extra-cozy socks or mittens because alpaca is even warmer than wool alone. This skein is one of a kind but I can dye a larger amount for you if needed. Please contact me for details.

Please note that this is *not* superwash yarn and can shrink/felt/full; launder with care.

This yarn is hand-dyed in my smoke-free cat-friendly home in the USA. Mill-end wool is perfectly good fiber that the machines in big factories can't use because it's in pieces too small, thick, thin, or uneven to feed through automatically. It's perfect for handspinners like me, though!

This skein weighs 39 grams and measures 96 yards. 8 WPI, Aran weight. It weighs 34 grams and measures 80 yards. It averages out to roughly 6 WPI but the variation in thickness is so great that I hesitate to classify it by that measurement.

Please note that this is *NOT* superwash wool so it needs to be gently hand-washed in cool water and dried flat unless felting is your intent.

My home is my studio and I do share it with two cats, but all yarns and fiber are stored in closed containers out of feline range. If you have allergies, please take proper precautions.

I spun this yarn from fiber I got from http://simplytwisted.etsy.com - she's not only a purveyor of all kinds of fibery goodies, but she's also a friend and one of my spinning inspirations. Go check her out too!

$2 from the sale of this item will be donated to a fibromyalgia-related charity to further research and education about the disease.
Superwash Merino and Bamboo-Rayon Yarn in Navy Blue

$24.00
65% superwash merino wool / 35% rayon made from bamboo
4 oz / approximately 500 yards
22 WPI
Navy blue. This yarn is almost entirely solid in color, but there are some very subtle highlights and lowlights.

If you want some luxurious socks, this is the yarn for you. The blend of merino wool and rayon made from bamboo is very silky-soft, and has a bit of a sheen to it. The superwash wool means it is washable and won't shrink/felt/full, and rayon made from bamboo makes it a little cooler for all-season wear.

Size 2-4 needles are recommended, although I got pleasant results on needles anywhere from a 0 to a 6; it just depends on what you're making.

$11.00
This is a soft, squooshy 2-ply yarn in dark heathered shades of lime green and dusky purple 100% mill-end wool. Mill-end wool is perfectly good fiber that the machines in big factories can't use because it's in pieces too small, thick, thin, or uneven to feed through automatically. It's perfect for handspinners like me, though!

This skein weighs 51 grams and measures 38 yards. Average of 4.5 WPI, Super Bulky weight, thick and thin. I spun 3 skeins of this - this listing is just for one skein, so please check my shop or contact me if you'd like to buy the other skein too.

$2 from the sale of this item will be donated to a fibromyalgia-related charity to further research and education about the disease. Please see my profile for more information.

© 2009 - All text, designs and images are copyright of Jen Hintz and are not to be used without prior consent.

It has been dyed using professional acid dyes.

I hand-painted this yarn yellow with black accents and intended to name it "Bumblebee". However, the dyes decided not to stay put the way they usually do...hence the name.

Hand wash and dry flat. This yarn is NOT superwash and will felt if not treated with care.

The yarn is made in Peru, and is hand-dyed in my smoke-free cat-friendly home in the USA.
