This Christmas ornament is the result of many years of fiber arts study. He is created from my handwoven ivory lace fabric; the fabric shown is made from fine mercerized cotton and woven using a traditional 6-shaft huck lace pattern. My own ornament design.

The angel features wings made from 20 gauge copper wire which is silver plated. He can rest on a Christmas tree branch, or he can be hung from a branch. His face was hand drawn with permanent ink.

The angel measures approximately 5" high. He was made in my smoke-free New England home.

Handwoven ivory lace petal cone

This is a lovely alternative to a traditional flower girl basket. Mercerized cotton in ivory was woven into a pretty spot weave fabric that has a nice sheen. I designed this flower cone and added features that compliment the embellishments found on other items, such as the "Simple Gifts" ring bearer pillow. The petal cone is fully lined with a delicate floral patterned quilter's cotton. Swiss made double faced satin ribbon serves as a handle. A handwoven fabric covered button is sewn onto the front of the petal cone. The cone is not flimsy as it is lined with interfacing and fusible fleece materials. It should hold its shape well. This is a lightweight item, suitable for small hands. Measures approximately 9" high, not including handle, 16" long with handle, and 6" wide. Woven and sewn in a smoke-free home.

After your wedding, this petal cone can be filled with potpourri or silk flower petals; a pretty addition to a bedroom or powder room.

While the handle is sewn into the body of the cone, the color of the smaller, decorative ribbon used around the fabric button can be changed to suit your preferences. I currently have about 20 different ribbon colors in stock.

Yuletide feast - green handwoven table napkins - set of 4 - READY TO SHIP

Handwoven table napkins in a festive green will brighten up your holiday table this year. The table napkins feature a huck lace border repeat on top and bottom edges. These are pretty enough for Christmas dinner, but practical enough to use every day throughout the season (and they'd be great for St. Patrick's Day, too!). They are made of 100% mercerized cotton and are easy to care for (machine wash & dry, iron as necessary).

They will hold up well to repeated uses. Machine stitched edges. The lace border is featured on both ends of the table napkin. The napkins measure a generous 17" square.

This handwoven lace is made from finely spun mercerized ivory cotton and is my favorite lace to use for delicate accessories. The fabric is a traditional loom-controlled lace weave called "spot weave," which refers to the floats in the fabric. The floats lend a nice texture to the cloth.

I made this item as a "something blue" item for a bride's wedding day, but can personalize this tissue holder for you or to be used as gifts. I have many colors of embroidery floss and ribbon available. Please contact me with the monogrammed initial that you would like and what color(s) suit your preferences. Please allow 3-5 days working time so that your item can be handcrafted for you.

This handwoven ivory lace bridal capelet will keep your shoulders warm. I wove this spot weave fabric with finely spun mercerized cotton in ivory. Lined with coordinating cotton in a subtle beige floral pattern. This capelet will fit dress sizes 8-10. This item drapes nicely and is light-weight.

I designed this capelet to be pretty yet simple so that it does not overshadow or distract attention from you or your gown. My handwoven fabric yardage is narrower than the standard purchased, factory-made fabrics that are found in stores, making it necessary for me to design sewing patterns that accomodate the dimensions of my fabric and the behavior of the threads. The only embellishment on this capelet is functional; a handwoven lace fabric covered button and satin ribbon button loop.

I weave and sew in a smoke-free home. All fabrics have been pre-washed. Care/cleaning instructions are included.

The weaving yarn I used as the weft in this lace fabric is a luxurious silk/wool blend in winter white. Coupled with warp threads in mercerized cotton yarn, this fabric has a luxurious texture and a soft hand. This ring bearer pillow would be a nice addition to your fall or winter wedding celebration.

I designed this pillow to highlight your rings. The pillow is simply designed, pretty yet understated. A fabric covered button in the wool/silk/cotton lace is centered on the pillow; satin ribbon is used to tie on your rings securely. Finally, I placed a handmade satin ribbon violet on the back; violets traditionally represent good luck in floral bouquets. My family of four uses handwoven table napkins such as these at all of our meals. They are made of 100% mercerized cotton and are easy to care for (machine wash & dry, iron if necessary). They are pretty enough for special occasions, but practical enough to use every day. They will hold up well to repeated uses. Machine stitched edges. The lace border is featured on both ends of the table napkin. The napkins measure 17" square.

The table napkins shown here were woven in a pretty pumpkin spice shade. Pretty kitchen tea towel in bright red and white. Woven in an 8-shaft diamond twill pattern. 100% unmercerized cotton yarn. Measures 18"x22", plus an additional 1" fringe on each end. Hand hemstitched.

This handwoven cotton towel is very easy to care for: simply toss in your washer & dryer as you would with any kitchen item! I use my handwoven dishtowels in my own kitchen; many are over 10 years old and still in use!

Diamonds and Pearls handwoven lace ring bearer pillow

I wove a delicate, loom-controlled lace pattern that features a diamond motif for this fabric. Small, pearl-finish glass beads were then handsewn onto the lace. This is specially made fabric, worthy of a special item.

The ring bearer pillow measures about 8" square. It has a removable pillow insert so that you can care for the fabric. A 1920s, vintage inspired ribbon folded rose motif is centered on the face of the pillow (rose colors are pale pink, latte, and ivory; leaves are avocado green). You can tie on your rings using the ivory satin ribbons.

This garter is lined with a pretty beige and sage green cotton floral pattern. The elastic is encased so that it will not slip or fold over inside. The garter measures approximately 2" wide and will stretch comfortably to about 22".

This particular piece of lace is a standard "fat eighth" piece, measuring 18" high by 11" wide. There is enough fabric here for you to make your own ring bearer pillow or other small accessory for your wedding or other special occasion.

Woven from 100% mercerized cotton in a traditional spot weave lace pattern. Fabric has been pre-washed. Raw edges will be sent to you stay-stitched, to prevent fraying.

In addition to this lovely fabric, I will send you my pattern/sewing directions for handwoven lace sachets with your order at no extra charge. These make lovely small gifts. A fat quarter will make 2 sachets. (Please see the sample photograph in this listing).

A word of CAUTION: this fabric is made from fine threads (10/2 mercerized cotton, which is less than fingering weight), but is still loosely woven compared to factory made quilter's cottons or other manufactured fabrics. Simple, pretty, heirloom-quality. I wove a spot weave lace fabric for this item out of fine mercerized cotton weaving yarn. The ivory colored fabric has a subtle sheen and a delicate texture. My original sewing pattern designed for working with handwoven fabric. This drawstring pouch purse is small enough to carry with you as you greet or dance with your wedding guests. This particular piece of lace is a standard "fat quarter" piece, measuring 18" high by 22" wide. There is enough fabric here for you to make your own ring bearer pillow, several jewelry bags or a small purse, or even a baby bonnet.

Woven from 100% mercerized cotton in a traditional spot weave lace pattern. Fabric has been pre-washed. Raw edges will be sent to you stay-stitched, to prevent fraying.

In addition to this lovely fabric, I will send you my pattern/sewing directions for handwoven lace sachets with your order at no extra charge. These make lovely small gifts. A fat quarter will make a minimum of 5 sachets. (Please see the sample photograph in this listing).

A word of CAUTION: this fabric is made from fine threads (10/2 mercerized cotton, which is less than fingering weight), but is still loosely woven compared to factory made quilter's cottons or other manufactured fabrics. This handwoven scarf is made from rayon rick-rack boucle in spicy orange color. It is soft around the neck, has a pleasing texture, and drapes beautifully. The 6" fringe on each end is accented with square shaped glass beads; please see one of the close up photos. This scarf is a lovely addition to any wardrobe.

A simple yet elegant handwoven huck lace ringbearer's pillow. I made loom-controlled lace for this very special item. The fabric has an overall basketweave effect. Mercerized cotton weaving yarn lends a subtle sheen to this fabric. My original pillow design; sewing with handwoven fabric entails special handling. Backed with coordinating quilter's cotton in a pretty floral design (please see the photograph). A generously sized white silk ribbon is used so that you may tie on your wedding rings securely. Four handwoven and handpainted table napkin cuffs

These table napkin cuffs are a fun and easy-to-care for way to add handwoven textiles to your table. The cotton warp threads used for this fabric were handpainted in muted shades of purple, yellow, and blue to create this fabric. Weft yarn is 100% unmercerized cotton in purple. The fabric reminds me of a summer garden.

These table napkin cuffs are lined with a purple batik accent fabric, lined with fusible interfacing to add stability, and secured with a metal button and buttonhole. Fabric was prewashed.

Care for these items by placing them in a lingerie bag, washing in your machine on the delicate cycle, and laying flat to dry. They will take a hot iron.

Cuffs measure 2" wide by 8" long. Each cuff is slightly different as the handpainted, handwoven fabric varies in design.

Handwoven spot weave lace in fine ivory mercerized cotton was used to craft this special ring pillow. I wanted to design a ring pillow that eliminated the need to tie and untie on rings with ribbons (which can sometimes be a slippery task). Your rings will be safely carried in a pocket on the inside lining of the ring pillow, which is secured with a small Velcro button (please see the close-up of the pocket). Embellished with a handmade pale pink satin ribbon rose which rests on an avocado green ribbon loop; coordinating satin ribbon streamer in ivory. Sage and ivory ring pillow and bow tie ensemble

An ivory handwoven lace ring bearer pillow is pretty and delicate for you, and the coordinating bow tie for your ring bearer made from 100% cotton is comfortable for your dashing young man. My handwoven spot weave lace fabric was used to make this ring bearer's pillow. Mercerized weaver's cotton yarn in ivory makes a cloth with a subtle sheen and lovely texture. A button covered in handwoven fabric is centered on the pillow, around which is placed a pretty satin ribbon. I used a latte/tan-colored ribbon; other options are available. The back of the pillow is made of coordinating quilter's cotton in a delicate sage green and autumn leaf pattern (please see the picture). I included a satin ribbon ivory flower with amber-colored glass bead "stamens" on the back of the pillow. The bow tie is made from the same fabric as the backing cotton on the pillow and is sized for boys (and he may appreciate wearing something that doesn't have flowers on it!). Bowtie hardware is used on the tie, so that you can adjust the tie to suit your ring bearer's neck size. If you let me know the neck size of the boy who will be wearing the tie, I will tie it accordingly for you. Pillow measures approximately 6" square; just right for small hands. Handwoven diamond lace shawl in forest green

A traditional huck lace pattern that creates a diamond motif in the fabric was used to weave this bridal wrap. It is made from 5/2 mercerized cotton, which makes a fabric with a nice drape. The wrap/shawl has twisted fringe on each end. Dimensions are 19.5" wide by 65" long, not including 6" of twisted fringe on each end.

I weave in a smoke-free environment. This fabric was made entirely by me in my New England home; the shawl was not cut from factory-made fabric.

I intentionally wove this shawl to be pretty enough for your wedding or other special occasion, but simple in design so as not to detract attention from you or your gown. You might consider holding the wrap in place with a shawl pin or vintage brooch. This shawl can truly be dressed up or down.

This item is easy to care for, since it is made from cotton. The wrap can be machine washed in cold water on the delicate cycle, drip-dried, and ironed. If you'd like to see a sample of the yarn I used to make the shawl/wrap, please let me know. I'd be happy to send you a small sample of the yarn free of charge.

I am charging a slightly higher fee for this shawl, as opposed to the ivory shawl that is also listed. The weaving yarn that was used to make this wrap is thinner, making it necessary to use and to work with considerably more threads that are used with a thicker yarn.

This flower girl basket is pretty and delicate looking but not overly fussy. The basket would be lovely filled with petals or flowers. I constructed the basket out of a beige floral cotton fabric. There are stabilizing inserts in the bottom of the basket and the handle; the sides of the basket are padded and soft, yet not flimsy. A handwoven spot weave lace sash lines the inside of the basket. This lace is made from fine mercerized cotton weaving yarn; it has a nice sheen. Each corner has a satin ribbon bow. If you are interested in other ribbon colors, I have about 20 different shades in stock; please contact me to let me know your preferences. Should you need more than 1 basket I have plenty of materials on hand; please let me know how many you would like for your celebration.

I elected to construct my own basket for this item because I like things that are as handmade as possible! It almost seemed like cheating to use a purchased basket! The lightweight basket measures bottom measures approximately 6" x 4" on its bottom base; the handle is about 1" wide.

After your wedding, your flower girl can use this basket to hold special treasures. She may even save it for her own wedding!

Chapel Windows handwoven lace ring bearer pillow

Look closely at this loom-controlled lace fabric and you will detect small, rectangular-shaped "windows" in the pattern. I centered small, beige, lustre-finished glass beads throughout the inside of the "windows" to suggest light. This ring bearer pillow is made from a small, limited run of my handwoven lace and is worthy of a special item.

The ring bearer pillow measures about 8" square. It has a removable pillow insert so that you can care for the fabric. High-quality quilter's cotton in a subtle beige rose pattern is used to back the pillow (please see the picture). A 1920s, vintage inspired ribbon folded rose motif is centered on the face of the pillow (rose colors are pale pink, white, and ivory; leaves are avocado green). You can tie on your rings using the ivory satin ribbons.

Handwoven ivory lace petal cone for an Autumn wedding

This is a lovely alternative to a traditional flower girl basket. Mercerized cotton in ivory was woven into a pretty spot weave fabric that has a nice sheen. I designed this flower cone and added features that compliment the embellishments found on other items, such as the "Simple Gifts" ring bearer pillow. The petal cone is fully lined with a delicate floral patterned quilter's cotton. Swiss made double faced satin ribbon serves as a handle. A handwoven fabric covered button is sewn onto the front of the petal cone. The cone is not flimsy as it is lined with interfacing and fusible fleece materials. It should hold its shape well. This is a lightweight item, suitable for small hands. Measures approximately 9" high, not including handle, 16" long with handle, and 6" wide. Woven and sewn in a smoke-free home.

After your wedding, this petal cone can be filled with potpourri or silk flower petals; a pretty addition to a bedroom or powder room. You can easily change the ribbon colors to coordinate with your decor.

While the handle is sewn into the body of the cone, the color of the smaller, decorative ribbons used around the fabric button can be changed to suit your preferences. Weave Our Story Ring Bearer Pillow

Personal. Meaningful. Earth-friendly. Repurposed fabric found in old clothing, table linens, neckties (anything!) from the significant people in your life will be used to weave a ring bearer pillow for your wedding. This is an eco-conscious alternative to selecting a ring pillow made from factory-made fabric.

What do I do?
1) Decide which people you'd like to have represented in your woven cloth. This is a personal decision. Some possibilities include: a) bride & groom; b) parents of the bride & groom; c) bridal party members; d) children from previous relationships that will be part of a new, blended family.

2) Find pieces of clean unused clothing, household textiles and/or fabric that you would like to have repurposed for your new cloth. Here are some suggestions: a) unused clothes (don't forget baby clothes!); b) neckties and scarves; c) hankies; d) fabric remnants from previous quilting and/or sewing projects; e) table linens. Handknitted and/or crocheted items may not work well for this project.

3) Make sure you've got a sufficient number of items. It is better to have too much fabric available than not enough. I'll use fabric strips from all items sent to me, even if it is only a small portion of the whole. Some guidelines: 5-6 small items (baby clothes, neckties or hankies) or 3-4 children's or adult sized articles of clothing or approximately 1 yard total of fabric remnants/scraps at least 1" wide.

4) Send your items to me and I'll begin creating your own "Weave Our Story" fabric for your wedding. Please factor in a 10 day turn around time from the time that I receive your items for repurposing.

What happens next?
1) When I receive the fabric articles in the mail, I will recycle the items to create the fabric "weft" for your ring pillow. Random pieces of cloth from your various articles are then sewn together to make the "new" weaving weft.

2) Your "weft" is woven into cloth that is uniquely yours. I use a neutral colored cotton weaving yarn for the warp. Each pillow's final woven fabric is different, depending on colors and textures of the repurposed fabric used.

3) The cloth is then assembled into a ring pillow. The pillow's underside and decorative embellishments will be made from your repurposed items as well, provided there is enough material to use. The pillow will measure approximately 8 inches square. Note: Pillows are stuffed with new material only.

4) I mail your own "Weave Our Story" ring pillow back to you!

Be assured that I keep meticulous records (written and photographic) about which clothing/fabric samples belong to which clients. I will take great care with the items that you have selected. I have two looms in my home, and one is solely dedicated to "Weave Our Story" articles.

If an item is not suitable for cutting or if I believe that it will not hold up to the weaving process, I will return it to you along with your completed order.

Autumn leaves - ring pillow and bow tie ensemble

An ivory handwoven lace ring bearer pillow is pretty and delicate for you, and the coordinating bow tie for your ring bearer made from 100% cotton is comfortable for your dashing young man. My handwoven spot weave lace fabric was used to make this ring bearer's pillow. Mercerized weaver's cotton yarn in ivory makes a cloth with a subtle sheen and lovely texture. A button covered in handwoven fabric is centered on the pillow, around which is placed a pretty satin ribbon. I used a rust-colored ribbon; other options are available. The back of the pillow is made of coordinating quilter's cotton in a delicate autumn leaf pattern (please see the picture). I included a satin ribbon rust flower with amber-colored glass bead "stamens" on the back of the pillow. The bow tie is made from the same fabric as the backing cotton on the pillow and is sized for boys (and he may appreciate wearing something that doesn't have flowers on it!). Bowtie hardware is used on the tie, so that you can adjust the tie to suit your ring bearer's neck size. If you let me know the neck size of the boy who will be wearing the tie, I will tie it accordingly for you. Pillow measures approximately 6" square; just right for small hands. Woven and sewn in a smoke-free home. My own pillow design; sewing with handwoven fabrics necessitates some special sewing modifications.

Start your own family tradition with this handwoven and crocheted lace wedding garter. The simple violet flower is traditionally used to symbolize good luck in bridal bouquets. This is surely a keepsake that will remain in your family for generations.

Handwoven spot weave lace. Hand crocheted scalloped shell edging. Ribbonwork ivory violet with amber glass bead "stamens" rests on a taupe ribbon figure eight motif.

This garter is lined with a pretty beige cotton floral fabric. The elastic is encased so that it will not slip or fold over inside. The garter measures approximately 2" wide and will stretch comfortably to about 22".

If you need a different size, please send me your thigh measurement and I will create a garter just for you.

Handwoven in a smoke-free home. My original pattern design.

Handwoven ivory lace petal cone -- Fall Edition

This is a lovely alternative to a traditional flower girl basket. Mercerized cotton in ivory was woven into a pretty spot weave fabric that has a nice sheen. The petal cone is fully lined with a delicate patterned quilter's cotton in sage green with small brown leaves (please see picture)and matches the "Simple Gifts" ring bearer pillow, fall edition. Swiss made double faced satin ribbon serves as a handle. A handwoven fabric covered button decorates the cone along with a latte/tan colored ribbon. Other ribbon colors are available; I have a growing stock of ribbon colors with 25 currently on hand. The cone is not flimsy as it is lined with interfacing and fusible fleece materials. It should hold its shape well. This is a lightweight item, suitable for small hands. Measures approximately 9" high, not including handle, 16" long with handle, and 6" wide. Woven and sewn in a smoke-free home.

After your wedding, this petal cone can be filled with potpourri or silk flower petals; a pretty addition to a bedroom or powder room. You can easily change the ribbon colors to coordinate with your decor or with the seasons.

Sage green handwoven scarf with beaded fringe

This handwoven scarf is made from rayon rick-rack boucle in a sage green color. It is soft around the neck, has a pleasing texture, and drapes beautifully. The 6" fringe on each end is accented with green glass beads as well as a handful of stone beads; the beads pick up just the right amount of light. This scarf is a lovely addition to any wardrobe.

Brides, this item would make a lovely gift for your attendants. Scarves can be made to order in the quantity that you request.

The scarf measures approximately 6 feet long, not including the fringed ends. The scarf is 5.25" wide. The scarf is easy to care for: handwashing is recommended; the scarf will take a hot iron. I weave in a smoke-free home.

Over the Garden Gate ring bearer pillow

The lacy weave I used for this pillow reminded me of a trellis or gate pattern. This ring bearer's pillow would be lovely for your garden or floral themed wedding. Finely spun mercerized cotton yarn in champagne/ivory yields a subtle shine when woven. Rosebud embellishment is handmade from satin ribbon and is sewn on, not glued. (You could select a different colored ribbon for this as well; please send me a message describing your needs and timeframe). I designed the lace and the sewing pattern for this special item. Back of pillow is made so that you can remove the handmade insert for cleaning/care purposes. Pillow insert is included also. Woven and sewn in a smoke-free home.

Handwoven flower girl basket

This flower girl basket is constructed from my handwoven ivory lace fabric. It is pretty and delicate looking but not overly fussy. The basket would be lovely filled with petals or flowers. There are stabilizing inserts in the bottom of the basket and the handle; the sides of the basket are padded and soft, yet not flimsy. A subtle, yet pretty, beige floral design is used to line the basket and to make the handle. This lace is made from fine mercerized cotton weaving yarn; it has a nice sheen. Each corner has a satin ribbon bow. The front of the basket features a satin ribbon flower, which can be easily customized to fit your color scheme (please see the photos for different examples of ribbon flowers). If you are interested in other ribbon colors, I have about 25 different shades in stock; please contact me to let me know your preferences. Should you need more than 1 basket I have plenty of materials on hand; please let me know how many you would like for your celebration.

I elected to construct my own basket for this item because I like things that are as handmade as possible! It almost seemed like cheating to use a purchased basket! The lightweight basket measures bottom measures approximately 6" x 4" on its bottom base; the handle is about 1" wide.

After your wedding, your flower girl can use this basket to hold special treasures. This basket would look very pretty in a powder room or sitting on a small table, filled with potpourri.

As with all of my items, this is an original design created to feature my handwoven lace. Woven and sewn in a smoke-free home.
