The Jane Eyre Teacup....Beautiful Hammersley Cup and Saucer

$32.00
This is a fine quality, bone china cup and saucer made by Hammersley, England.

"No sight so sad as that of a naughty child," he began, "especially a naughty little girl. Do you know where the wicked go after death?"
"They go to hell," was my ready and orthodox answer.
"And what is hell? Can you tell me that?"
"A pit full of fire."
"And should you like to fall into that pit, and to be burning there for ever?"
"No sir."
"What must you do to avoid it?"
I deliberated a moment; my answer, when it did come, was objectionable: "I must keep in good health, and not die."--Jane Eyre's theological discussion with Mr. Brocklehurst, from Charlotte Bronte's novel.

This cup reminded me of Jane because it was both demure and defiant--wild, swirling clouds of blue flowers restrained by delicate, ladylike ribbon festoons. Passionate, like the character of Jane Eyre, yet self-contained and controlled. The color on this set is BRILLIANT! Very pretty! Cup measures roughly 2" without the saucer and is approximately 3-3/4" from rim to rim. Saucer measures approximately 5-1/2" from rim to rim.

CONDITION: Absolutely mint--no chips, cracks, crazing, fleabites or wear to the pattern or gold. Very nice!

Shipping is $6.00 Priority Mail within the Continental U.S. If you live elsewhere, please convo me for a shipping quote.

Mrs. DeWinter Inspired Teacup...Beautiful Vintage Castleton Tea Cup and Saucer in Peony Pattern

$28.00
This is a top quality china teacup in mint condition. I have additional cups and saucers if you need more than one.

Although Mrs. DeWinter's world was in the 1930's, this lovely teacup looks just like the sort of thing that would have graced the elegant, ominous, Manderley. Sitting under the chestnut tree, sipping tea with Jasper at her feet...

Very pretty, graceful elegance! Bone cream-colored china with deep pink peonies and sage green leaves. Lots of stylish decorative beading, in both gold and relief. Graceful, balanced symmetry--delicate, yet strong! A very nice addition to your collection.

Cup measures roughly 4" across from rim to rim and stands about 2-1/4" without the saucer. Saucer measures about 6-3/4" from rim to rim. Shown here with my very rare Castleton teapot in the Gold Medallion pattern, also available in my store.

CONDITION: Absolutely mint--no chips, cracks, crazing, fleabites, or wear to gold or pattern. Colors are slightly deeper than my photo shows.

Shipping: Shipping is $6.00 within the Continental U.S. If you live elsewhere, please convo me for a shipping quote.

The Catherine Earnshaw Teacup....Beautiful Hammersley Footed Tea Cup and Saucer Pink Roses

$35.00
This is a top-quality item in excellent vintage condition. Not sure of exact age, but I know dates as far back as the 1950's. This set is rather rare; not even Replacements Ltd. has any in stock. I have additional cups and saucers if you need more than one.

"Catherine's face was just like the landscape--shadows and sunshine flitting over it in rapid succession; but the shadows rested longer, and the sunshine was more transient..." Emily Bronte, Wuthering Heights.

And so Catherine Earnshaw was a complex being, recognized as such by Heathcliff and likely one good reason why he both loved and tormented her. But I like to think of this charming and pretty teacup embellished with pink cabbage roses as a reflection of her brief and relatively happy period as Catherine Linton, living in a graciously decorated home and enjoying its comforts....

This is an absolutely beautiful vintage Hammersley cup and saucer, made in England. Soft white porcelain with stunning deep pink roses and green leaves, lavishly decked with gilding on the scalloped rim of both cup and saucer, on the footed edge, handle, and around the cup's girth. Cup stands roughly 2" tall and measures just shy of 4" from rim to rim. Saucer is just a bit of 5" across from rim to rim. This set has a wonderfully delicate look combined with strength and weight. A sturdy set, despite its apparent fragility--much like Catherine Earnshaw.....

CONDITION: In excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks, crazing, but there is the tiniest fleabite of wear on the gold trim on the cup's rim. The fleabite appears to be in the gold, not in the porcelain itself. It is so small I nearly missed it, and does not diminish the set's beauty. Glaze and pattern are clear, bright, and shiny. One note--the handle on this fancy cup is larger than most, able to accommodate my rather large fingers and hand well.

Shipping is $6.00 within the Continental U.S. If you live elsewhere, please convo me for a quote.

Self Published Fiction AUSTENIAN WICKED WIT AND FUN...An Original Fiction Story by Lori Bragg...THE LIBERTINE LETTERS Audio Cd Book Package

$19.80
SUMMER SALE--10% OFF! Was $22, now $19.80

This audio book/softcover book combination contains no foul language, no graphic violence, no explicit sex, and no sexual situations. Fun for the whole family...

A Victorian Comedy of Errors, Told in 24 Letters! All right, I started scribbling with a pen and paper, then pulled out a tape recorder; then my husband bought a microphone, and the end result is THE LIBERTINE LETTERS...A production worthy of Hollywood.

EXCERPT: "...Mr. Fontaine is a plague worthy of a tragic novel! He hovers and rambles and delineates until we are all pressed to the screaming edge. And in the most ridiculously florid language! I can only imagine what his letters to you must be like...For the life of me, I cannot recall how we became entrapped by this nitwit's presence. But then, it is all your doing, is it not? Indeed it is, for I know your propensity to flitter about, smiling and teasing, like the social butterfly you think you are. You must reform your bad habits, daughter. You are subjecting us to a steady parade of useless nincompoops, and we simply haven't the energy for it....Once again, you must tear yourself away from frivolities--sit down at once, and write this young man, refusing his proposal. If you do not, we shall never be rid of him, and the desolation that comes with knowing the two of you shall propagate an assembly-line procession of equally annoying, diaper-clad reproductions. Never may this be! I would hang myself in despair..." END OF EXCERPT

Synopsis: Phillip Fontaine is desperately--ridiculously--in love with Constance Libertine, and has asked her to marry him. But, Constance has left for a holiday in New York with her Aunt Edwina, without giving him her answer. While Phillip writes long, adoring, anxious letters, other letters are being written, opinions expressed, and events taking place that may interfere with the young couple. Then, there is the question of Constance herself--will she live up to her first name, or her last?

What the Package Includes: 24 Letters and envelopes, containing a few surprises within, and reading instructions to help the reader avoid frustration from lack of story continuity, one audio cd, running time approximately 55 minutes, a sachet of potpourri, and a drawstring bag to hold it all together. A slightly less expensive version is available in book form, in the audio section of my store.

Shipping is $7.50 within the Continental U.S. Canadian shipping is $9.50 First Class Mail International. If you live elsewhere, please contact me, as this audio cd may not play on your electronic equipment.

(And for the record, it is now widely accepted that Marie Antoinette never actually said, "Let them eat cake!")

A beautiful set of four exquisite French Limoges cups and saucers, perfectly suitable for a revolutionary tea party! Very pretty scalloped saucers with embossed beading. Cups also have light embossing around the outside of the rim.
The Queen of Hearts Teacup...Alice in Wonderland Vintage Tuscan Bone China Cup and Saucer

$24.00
A fine quality, bone china teacup and saucer in near-mint condition!
PLEASE NOTE: This teacup runs on the petite side; please read the item description carefully.

"Who's been painting my roses red?
WHO'S BEEN PAINTING MY ROSES RED?
Who dares to taint
With vulgar paint
The royal flower bed?
For painting my roses red
Someone will lose his head!"

The Queen of Hearts from Lewis Carroll's ALICE IN WONDERLAND

And so the Queen's courtiers frantically paint her white roses red, in order to save themselves from an almost surely fatal mistake...Well, the roses are ALL red on this charming English bone china teacup and saucer, lavishly embellished with heavy gilding and bright green leaves. A very colorful and elegant cup, truly fit for a queen! Tuscan cups and saucers run a little small, somewhere between a demitasse and a regular-sized teacup--but their petite beauty is part of their charm! The footed cup measures roughly 3-1/4" across from rim to rim, and stands about 2-1/8" tall without the saucer. Saucer measures a fraction over 5" from rim to rim.

CONDITION: Near mint--no wear to the pattern (roses are a bright, red-pink with deep, kelly green leaves) or gilding. Lots of heavy gilding here! No chips, cracks, or crazing--only one teeny fleabite on the BOTTOM of the footed cup, which does not show when displayed, and can be seen in my photos. A very pretty set!

Shipping: Shipping is $6.00 Priority Mail within the Continental U.S. If you live elsewhere, please convo me for a shipping quote.

$100.00
At LAST! A party tray that meets all your needs--large enough to accomodate a sizable amount of glasses, and with all the beauty and elegance of rich mahogany that WIPES CLEAN WITH A DAMP CLOTH. How is this possible? This tray is coated with three coats of quality Minwax SPAR Urethane, a sealant normally used in marine items such as boats or water skis, designed to repel water completely. This tray has been put to the TORTURE TEST: A glass of ice water was set on it and left standing for an hour. Normally you would shudder to think of the awful white ring that would leave--but as you can see, there's not a mark on it! Wipes clean with a damp cloth. At last you can have all the beauty and elegance of real wood without the stress.

This tray is very large (as you can see by the 12 full-sized party wine glasses setting on it) measuring 19-1/4" X 13-1/2" (interior dimensions) and an exterior dimension of approximately 14-1/2"x20-1/2". The 1-1/4" sides with handles are solid mahogany; the interior bottom and underside are mahogany veneer. Shown in a rich Cherry stain and constructed in such a way that the wood is allowed to breathe and expand with temperature changes, which will avoid your tray warping.

My husband is the foreman of Atlantic Custom Woodcraft, an extremely reputable woodworking and cabinetry shop here in Florida, with many years of quality service as a track record; he knows what he is doing :)

PLEASE NOTE: This is a custom item. Please allow up to four weeks for your tray to be constructed. For a custom tray suited to your special needs, please contact us and we can work out the details.

SHIPPING: Shipping is $12.00 Parcel Post within the Continental U.S. If you need faster shipping or live outside the Continental U.S., please contact me.

SALE Pretty Victorian Crescent Hall Table...Mahogany...Detailing and Sheraton Legs

$135.00
This item is located in Palm Harbor, Florida. If you wish to save on shipping, you can arrange for pickup.

On sale! Was $165, now $135! PLEASE NOTE: This final sale price is FIRM.

My husband and I bought this table several years ago in an antique store. It was in pretty rough shape, and we decided to refinish it, since simple restoration would not have solved the issues in its finish. We began to strip the old finish off, only to discover the burled top was a faux finish! Oh brother...thank goodness, my husband is a cabinet-builder, used to working with wood, and he replaced the faux finish with mahogany veneer. He did a very nice job, as you can see from the photos.

How old is this table? We don't know; it could be a genuine antique from the Victorian era (Victorians loved to do faux finishes!) or it might be a quality reproduction from the 1920's, 30's, or 40's. In any case, it is a solid, well-built little table, with no loose joints or construction issues. The finish has been maintained over the last ten years with orange oil, but there is a little finish wear along the curved edge of the table top. This can be easily fixed with a little cherry stain or furniture crayon. Table displays beautifully, especially with a pretty doily on top.

Measurements: Tabletop measures 12" from front to back, and approximately 25" from side to side. Table height is 23". Has a lot of nice detailing.

SHIPPING: Shipping is $25.00 UPS GROUND within the Continental U.S. If you live elsewhere, please email me for a quote.
Tea Time Necessity....Set of Four Vintage Royal Grafton Tea Cups and Saucers Footed

$88.00
These are very good quality, bone china cups and saucers in excellent condition. I have additional cups if you need more than four.

With regard to the color: I pulled out my box of 64 Crayola Crayons and the crayon marked 'sea foam green' was a near perfect match--except the cups are a lighter, more pastel version of the crayon color :)

Wow! These pretty sea foam green teacups decked with deep pink roses, yellow daisies, and bluebells are a friendly sight! Add a splash of pretty color to your table and enjoy their delicate beauty....Cups have nicely curved handles with gilding. Both the cup and saucer edge is gently scalloped and also gilded. Although the title description states that these are footed, the foot is very short and also gilded, as is the center of the saucer. The saucer is very curved and the cup sits rather low (see pics). Cup measures approximately 2" tall without the saucer and 3-3/4" from rim to rim. Saucer measures roughly 5-1/2" across. Bottom is stamped "Royal Grafton Bone China Made in England". I'm not certain of the age of these cups and saucers, but judging from their initial condition before cleaning, I would say they are fairly old! Don't worry--these have been thoroughly cleaned, and even the inside of the handles had the benefit of a Q-tip dipped in cleaner :)

CONDITION: In excellent vintage condition--no chips, cracks, crazing, or fleabites. Very minimal wear to the pattern and gilding. Glaze is bright and shiny. Ready to accompany your prettiest linen and best silver.

SHIPPING: Shipping is $16.00 Priority Mail INSURED within the Continental U.S. If you live elsewhere, please convo me for a shipping quote.

This pretty teacup made me think of Gwyneth Paltrow's charming protrayal of Jane Austen's well-loved protagonist, and I can even see her wearing a gown in the same lovely shade of green-aqua! This is a very fine quality vintage Paragon teacup and saucer, and highly collectible. The footed teacup stands approximately 2-1/4" tall and 4" across. The saucer is roughly 5-1/2" in diameter. The colors are a medium green-aqua with deep pink roses, spring-green leaves, and tiny yellow buds. Lots of intricate, filigreed gilding that makes this cup so outstandingly beautiful! The bottom of both cup and saucer are stamped, "By appointment to her Majesty the Queen, China Potters, Paragon, Fine Bone China, England, Regd."

CONDITION: Excellent--near mint! Virtually no wear to the extensive gilding, no chips, cracks, crazing, or fleabites. There are a couple of very minor scratches in the cup well and saucer, but they can be seen only upon careful and close inspection. Virtually no wear to the pattern--very clear and bright! The glaze is bright and shiny with no crazing. This teacup is in sparkling display condition :)

SHIPPING: Shipping is $6.00 Priority Mail within the Continental U.S. If you live elsewhere, please contact me for a shipping quote.

I took one look, and thought of Jane and Michael's charming nursery in the Disney film, "Mary Poppins"--quaint, old British charm! Somehow I can picture Mary Poppins sipping tea from this cup while astride her complacent, lavender merry-go-round horse smiling all the while, eyes closed!

CONDITION: This cup is in very good condition, with some scratches on the saucer that are only noticeable upon close inspection. No chips, cracks, crazing, or fleabites. Pattern is clear and bright, gold trim intact. Slightly flared cup measures almost 4" across and 2-1/4" high (without the saucer). The saucer measures 6" across and has a slightly scalloped edge. I've only seen one other cup like this (apparently Franconia Gloria is rather rare :)

Shipping is $6.00 within the Continental U.S. If you live elsewhere, please convo me for a shipping quote.

I send no compliments to your mother. You deserve no such attention. I am most seriously displeased." Lady Catherine de Bourgh's scathing criticism of Elizabeth Bennet in Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice"...

Well, we all know what a stiff-necked pain-in-the-neck Lady Catherine could be, do we not? However unpleasant her personal quirks and traits may have been, she DID live in opulent luxury, with beautiful china, draperies, and furnishings about her...Therefore, when I saw this ornate and exquisitely gilded Foley cup and saucer in the Broadway pattern, I was reminded of her. By the way, my favorite version of Pride & Prejudice is the A&E/BBC production starring Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle. What's yours?

This beautifully ornate set is done in shades of turquoise, deep pinks, spring greens and touches of mustard. Both the cup rim and foot, as well as the saucer rim, are gently scalloped and gilded. Background is white. Cup measures roughly 3-1/4" from rim to rim, and stands about 3" tall without the saucer. The saucer measures roughly 5-1/2" from rim to rim.

CONDITION: Near mint--no chips, cracks, crazing, fleabites or wear to pattern. Only the most minor wear in spots to the gilding. Absolutely beautiful!

SHIPPING: Shipping is $6.00 Priority Mail within the Continental U.S. If you live elsewhere, please convo me for a shipping quote.

$75.00
A beautiful Olga nightgown with a beautiful pair of coordinating beaded slippers!

PLEASE NOTE: This gown may look orchid pink on your screen. It is NOT--it is a deep, brilliant hot fuchsia. I simply couldn't capture the intensity of the color; think deep hot pink with a purple cast to it.

An unusual gown in the respect that it features two layers of soft, sheer nylon inserts in the bodice, instead of being all lace as most Olga gowns. The dress form measurements as shown are BUST 36", WAIST 30", HIPS freeflowing. The gown fit comfortably on the dress form (at least I didn't hear it complaining). The coordinating beaded/sequined mules/slippers are size 7-1/2 to 8 medium. The slippers are done in burgundy/hot pink/fuchsia tones and should coordinate well. If you have a hot pink or burgundy gown of your own, consider these an added perk!

CONDITION: Gown is near mint--no holes, stains, rips, or tears. Two small tiny pics on the back of the bodice. Slippers were only very lightly worn (purchased new by me and worn two or three times around the house). Both items will be shipped gift wrapped as shown. A great gift for that bride that loves vintage, for your wife on her anniversary, or maybe you want to treat yourself. Gown has been freshly laundered, and is ready to wear! Comes from a clean, non-smoking home.

FREE SHIPPING WITHIN THE CONTINENTAL U.S. If you live elsewhere, please convo me for a quote.

RARE Castleton Teapot Gold Medallion Pattern...Vintage and Very Beautiful, Near Mint GREAT WEDDING GIFT

$650.00
I will gift-wrap this item for you at no additional cost.

THIS TEAPOT HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED AT LAST! It is a very rare Castleton Teapot in the Gold Medallion pattern, manufactured between 1963-1972. Replacements Ltd. does not even have this teapot in stock, but other Castleton Teapots with the same body style and differing pattern begin at $800+ in their store. It has taken me a year to finally learn who made this teapot :) To understand why, read on:

This is a truly beautiful, quality teapot, in near mint condition--except for one thing: the maker's mark has been etched away from the bottom! Don't know why anyone would do this; I purchased the teapot in this condition sometime back from an antique store.

Other than this peculiar flaw (which can only be seen when the teapot is turned upside down) the teapot is in great, very slightly used condition--no chips, cracks, crazing, or fleabites. The teapot base color (gallery picture is the most accurate) is a bone cream color, with lots of elegant gold detailing, and a peacock-style medallion. I have taken pictures of both medallions on front and back of teapot; front medallion is slightly larger. The teapot is approximately 10" from the handle to the tip of the spout, and 6" from the base to the top of the finial. The beauty of the teapot lies in its exquisitely balanced proportions, rendering it a very graceful elegance; no clunkiness here!

Shipping is $10.00 within the Continental U.S. Canadia Shipping is $14.00 First Class Mail International. If you would like them arranged, please convo me for a special order. With crepe paper, the sky is the limit!

Looking for a way to liven up your wedding, anniversary party, or any party in general? These handcrafted crepe paper roses, both pretty and festive, will do the trick! Color is a deep royal blue or peacock blue, whichever term you prefer. The roses are securely hand-twirled by me onto wooden skewers, and stand approximately 12" tall and 3" across. I have not put leaves on, but I will upon request at no additional charge. Please note that because these roses are attached to skewers and not wires, they are not as readily posable, because they are not bendable. If you prefer your roses on wires, please contact me for that adjustment, with an additional $8.00 fee. This is due to the greater difficulty in getting the roses to stay on those skinny little wires :)

I have included a photo to show how these roses may be used as a party or wedding decoration. I've inserted an 8-1/2"X11 piece of colored cardstock (rolled into a tube) into an inexpensive clear vase, and topped it with shredded paper fill for a strikingly colorful centerpiece. With cardstock and paper fill available in a large variety of colors, the combinations are endless! You can leave the cardstock uncut (as I have) for a taller arrangement, or cut the cardstock to fit your vase. Cardstock, vase, and paper fill are not included with your purchase.

I can make your roses in virtually any color or combination of colors you would like. MORE COOL COLOR COMBOS COMING SOON!

Please note--These roses are not arranged in a bouquet, but sold loose for you to arrange as you would like. If you would like a bridal bouquet made up of these roses, please contact me for a price.

Looking for bridal decorations that are both pretty and festive? These charming stylized crepe paper roses will do the trick! A baker's dozen true red roses whirled around wooden skewers to a finished height of 12" and 3" wide. Because these roses are fastened to wooden skewers and not wire, they are not posable. If you need posable roses on wires, it is an additional $8.00 due to the extra effort involved (they tend to want to slip off the wire more readily :) If you would like your roses in a different color, just let me know--I have many colors available.

These roses are wonderful as bridal shower centerpieces, party favors, or wrapped in tissue paper and given to the Lady of Honor on her special day. They are great for anniversaries, too! These roses do not have leaves, but if you would like a leaf attached to each rose, let me know and I will do so at no additional cost.

I have included a photo as an example of how these roses may be used as a decoration. I took an 8-1/2"X11" piece of colored cardstock, rolled it tightly into a tube, and inserted it firmly into an inexpensive glass vase, then topped with shredded paper fill. With so many colors of cardstock and paper fill available, the combinations are endless! Leave the cardstock uncut (as I have done) or cut to level with the vase before inserting. Sprinkle glitter around and let the party begin....Vase, cardstock, and paper fill are not included with your purchase.

$24.00
Looking for party flowers that will make a statement? Try my handcrafted stylized crepe paper roses! Pretty and delicate, with punch! These roses are fashioned on wooden skewers, so if you need roses that are posable and bend, they are not for you. If you would like your roses on wires, it is an additional $8.00, largely because the roses are harder to create on a wire stem and require more time. Just convo me if you wish this adjustment made.

I have not put green leaves on these roses, but I will upon request at no additional charge. The roses shown in the photos are a true, hot red, but these roses can be made in virtually any color you desire, and I will be posting various colors over the next few weeks. Just let me know what color you would like, and I'll put it together for you!

Roses are approximately 12" tall with their wooden skewer stem.

RED and AQUA Crepe Paper Roses Stylized Handmade Baker's Dozen

$24.00
For more roses in a variety of colors, browse my Crepe Paper Creations section. MORE COOL COLOR COMBOS TO COME! If you like these and need a color not available in my store, contact me and I'll make a custom listing for you.

Throwing a party and looking for an expensive way to decorate? Or maybe you're a bride with a wedding to plan, or bride's best friend about to throw her wedding shower. Whatever the occasion, these festive and pretty crepe paper roses will liven things up! This listing is for 13 red and aqua roses fashioned onto wooden skewers to a finished height of 12". Please note: The aqua is a very blue aqua, almost a powder blue; I say this because all monitors are a little different. Roses measure approximately 3" across. These roses are shown stylized without leaves, however I will add leaves upon request at no additional cost.

These roses are fashioned onto wooden skewers, which may not be as posable as your needs require. If you need roses on wires, I can make a special listing for you for an additional $8.00, due to the extra labor involved (they are more difficult to make and require more time).

I have included two photos of how these roses may be used in a simple way to decorate tables--an inexpensive glass vase, some marbles and a little shredded paper fill, and you've got a colorful and stylish decorative piece. This would be even more striking if colored marbles were used, but this was all I had on hand :) In the second photo, a simple piece of colored 8-1/2X11 cardstock was rolled into a tube and inserted into this small glass vase. Topped with a little shredded paper fill, and you've got an easy, colorful, inexpensive decoration. The cardstock may be left tall (as I have done) or cut to level with the vase. Vase, marbles, and cardstock are not included in your purchase, just a suggestion for your usage.

I am a skilled and competent packer; rest assured your roses will arrive uncrushed, ready for display!

Shipping is $8.00 Priority Mail within the Continental U.S.

Pretty Vintage Footed Royal Halsey Japan Teacup and Saucer Deep Pink Roses

$15.00
A very pretty vintage teacup and saucer, made by Royal Halsey (Japan). Both the cup and scalloped saucer are in near-mint condition, with no wear to the pattern and only very minimal wear to the gilding. Pretty sprays of deep red-pink roses, green leaves, and tiny blue flowers decorate the front and back of the cup and saucer. The cup measures just under 4" across and a little over two inches tall alone. Saucer measures 5-1/2" in diameter.

The bottom of the saucer is stamped, "Royal Halsey, Very Fine". I would like to point out that though this is a pretty cup in excellent condition for display or use, it is not the quality of some of my other teacups listed, and the price reflects that. I am an honest seller that will never knowingly misrepresent my merchandise. If you are looking for very fine quality teacups and saucers, browse my store for others listed. I will also be listing more teacups and saucers in the coming weeks.

SHIPPING: Shipping is $6.00 within the Continental U.S. If you live elsewhere, please contact me for a shipping quote.

If you are sensitive to fragrance, please convo me for a special listing.

Here is a set of three large gift tags based on my own original artwork (see photos). The gift tags feature a princess in shades of pink and turquoise with a hot pink ribbon, a stylized Merry-go-round-style horse in shades of pink and muted lavender and aqua ribbon, and a comic prince in shades of turquoise, red, and green, sporting a green and white striped ribbon. The prince bears the caption: 'For My Goofy Little Prince'. Gift tags are suitable for that special little princess that loves horses, and the comic prince would be suitable either for a young man or your husband, if he has a sense of humor :)

The prince and princess gift tags are a little over three inches square, and the horse is roughly 3-1/2"X2-3/4".
Possibly WATERFORD CRYSTAL Set of Six Vintage Petite CLEAR Cut Crystal Cordials...TOP QUALITY

$65.00
SPECIAL NOTE added 3/9/09: I spoke with a woman from Ireland recently; she owned quite a bit of Waterford Crystal and informed me that early Waterford was not signed, and in fact none of her Waterford was signed. (Waterford was manufactured in Ireland; from what I have been told Waterford has now gone out of business and no longer manufactures crystal) Therefore, these crystal cordials may well be Waterford, due to their high quality, in spite of the fact that they are unsigned.

These photos do not do this set of six brandy cordials justice--the quality is superb! I bought these in an antique store years ago as a gift for my husband, who loved them instantly! Now, however, we have acquired so many wine glasses, cordials, and vintage Tiffin I'm running out of space...I saw an identical set in another antique store, and they were in pretty rough shape--all crazed and crackled, so somebody loved them a little too well. These are in MINT MINT MINT condition--no chips, no cracks, no fleabites, no crazing, no clouding. The cuts are sharp and clear and superior to modern crystal (they really knew what they were doing back in the old days!) I had great difficulty capturing the sparkling brilliance and clarity of these with my limited skill with a camera--photos do not do them justice! Cordials stand approximately 3-1/2" tall and are roughly 1-1/2" from rim to rim.

The cordials have a nice, weighty feel to them that comes with quality while still remaining delicately beautiful. They sparkle beautifully in a lighted china cabinet.

If you are looking for a gift for a special man, this is one that will definitely be remembered!

Shipping: Shipping is $5.50 PRIORITY MAIL within the Continental U.S. Canada shipping is $7.50 First Class Mail International. Then add this sweet little jam jar by Royal Chelsea to your next private tea party! The jar (without lid) stands roughly 2-1/4" tall and 2" from rim to rim; with lid and finial it stands about 3-1/4" tall. Underplate is 4-1/4" across from rim to rim, and I have included a very small spoon (not original to the set) made by Oneida Community Stainless. Sprays of pink roses, blue, yellow, and orange daisies and green leaves adorn the jar and underplate. Bottom is marked, "Royal Chelsea, English Bone China, Made in England".

CONDITION: Excellent! No chips, cracks, crazing, or fleabites. No wear to pattern or gold trim. There is some very minor discoloration within the glaze (too minor to capture with my camera) on the jar's lid, that appears to have been a minor factory flaw. Glaze is bright and shiny, ready to adorn your tea party.

Shipping: Shipping is $4.00 within the Continental U.S. If you live elsewhere, please convo me for a shipping quote.

Tea Time Necessity....Stunning Poole Silverplate Scalloped Footed Bowl

This is a really beautiful, quality silverplate serving bowl made by Poole. VERY heavy, solid piece (the bowl itself weighs more than four pounds) in near mint condition! Use it to serve muffins, cookies, your favorite homemade breads--the possibilities are endless! Or, you could wrap all your best silver in your favorite linen-and-lace napkins and use the bowl for displaying them. Very pretty addition to your china cabinet when not in use :)

This large bowl measures approximately 13-1/2"X12" and stands roughly 2-1/2" tall. Bottom is stamped: Old English Silverplate by Poole, 5033.

CONDITION: This piece is virtually mint--no wear to the silverplate, virtually no scratches, no dings or dents. Polished to a high degree--so much so that, as you can see, it was hard to keep my own reflection out of my photos :)

There is a very small manufacturing flaw where the silverplate mold didn't quite seal completely, very minor but I mention it only for an accurate description.

A very pretty, sturdy, and elegant bowl for your next high tea!

SHIPPING: Shipping is $17.00 insured, Priority Mail within the Continental U.S. If you live elsewhere, please contact me for a shipping quote.

A Tea Time Necessity....Beautiful Baroque Silverplate Candy Dish with Repousse Roses

Add this charming vintage silverplate candy dish! Gorgeous roses in perfect relief, on both the inside bottom and all along the scalloped edge. Freshly polished and waiting to grace your own lovely china, linen tablecloths, and gleaming silver!

This appears to be silverplate over brass, in excellent condition with only minute wear primarily on the bottom interior (which will be covered with chocolates anyway, right?) The wear is so modest it is visible only upon close inspection under strong light, but I like to disclose anything less than perfection so that YOU know what you are purchasing. Measures approximately 9"X6" and the dish ends curve slightly upward.

Bottom has no maker's mark, but I purchased this in an antique store, promptly took it home, and polished it within an inch of it's finish, LOL. This piece appears to have some weight and solidarity to it, and is well-made.

Shipping: $5.00 within the Continental U.S. If you live elsewhere, please contact me for a shipping quote.

This story contains no foul language, graphic violence, explicit sex, or sexual situations. Fun for the whole family!

And here we have poor Lady Pandora, about to fling herself into the Thames...

STORY EXCERPT: "...The family's finances quickly sank. Pandora was forced to find work as a scullery maid in order to support her family. Seven years of poverty and back-breaking labor ensued. One day Pandora, depressed, without money or prospects, flung herself from a footbridge into the Thames River. The modest fall of six feet failed to end her life, however, and she was rescued by then Chief-of-Police, William Laslow, who just happened to be on holiday and taking photographs with a new camera. Pandora's desperate attempt was actually captured on film (pictured). Chief William Laslow was immediately smitten with Pandora's work-worn hands, and courted her with violent fervor. He made her his wife on January 6, 1849, and the couple settled into a modest living just outside London's fashionable district..."

This short story is featured in my hardcover book, FABRICATED FAMILY--A COMEDY OF VICTORIAN BIOGRAPHIES, VOLUME I. I'm a freelance fiction writer that enjoys copyrighting and handcrafting my own books. If you like the ironic humor, abrasive wit, and sense of the ridiculous that was Jane Austen's trademark style, then you may enjoy my similar writing style.

This story will be shipped in a protective cellophane cover.

Shipping is $1.00 First Class Mail within the Continental U.S./$3.75 First Class Mail to Canada.
$5.00
PLEASE NOTE: Cardstock cover may vary from the color shown. This story contains no foul language, no graphic violence, no explicit sex, or sexual situations. Suitable for the whole family!

This story also features Edgar Allen Poe's poem, THE BELLS

EXCERPT #1: "...In the summer of 1844, Lyman's Jewelry Store was robbed. The burglary was a peculiar one: various pieces of jewelry were dropped throughout the store and left trailing through the open front door. The front door had been propped open with a cast iron boot scraper. Perhaps the greatest oddity of all was the shop bell hanging on the front door: a loop of string had been run through the ring from which it dangled--and at the other end a large, yellow kite fluttered in the breeze. Thus, the bell rang continuously with each jerk of the kite..."

EXCERPT #2: "...I now understood at last why Carson had moved across the street--his jealousy of Michael ran with such depth that he could not bear to let him out of his sight for long. Because Michael loved Christiana, she became the prize to be attained. I don't think Carson would have had the slightest interest in her otherwise. This is the way things began, at least. I quickly realized, however, that though Michael was the initial target, Christiana's disdain and rather mocking personality intrigued Carson more than even he expected. Carson was very proud, with no tolerance for humiliation. Christiana could humiliate him with one sentence, and leave him unable to make the smallest reply without looking like an idiot. Carson developed an obsession for her, and went to great lengths to win her over. It was as though he were a child let loose in a candy store, with all its contents at his disposal, and had been told only the lollipop on the top shelf could not be had. Like any spoiled child, all the other sweets lost their allure, and now he wanted only the one lollipop. That is the kind of hold Christiana had over him..." END OF EXCERPTS

There is no denying the fanatical belligerence in those eyes...The London Ringer is first mentioned in the story of Lady Pandora Laslow, and his capture changes her life forever. His story is one of mystery and suspense...he has all London at his mercy, and it seems no one can capture him, until he develops a manic passion for his brother's fiancee. Will his obsession prove to be his undoing?

This story is the longest story in my collection, from my book, FABRICATED FAMILY--A COMEDY OF VICTORIAN BIOGRAPHIES, VOLUME I. This story is 23 pages long, two-sided printing on 24 lb paper (13 actual sheets; the last three pages are single-sided special additions to the story) Handstitched with German upholstery thread and bound in pale celery green cardstock. Printed in #11 font.

SHIPPING: Shipping within the Continental U.S. is $1.50 First Class Mail. Canada shipping is $3.75 First Class Mail International. This story contains no foul language, no graphic violence, no explicit sex or sexual situations. Suitable for the whole family!

EXCERPT: "...In a desperate attempt to help her beloved parents, Lavonia applied for a job at the Savannah Social, a news rag popular with wealthy socialites for its unceasingly vicious gossip. Chief Editor Fraser Tidwell, a short, balding, extremely married man, was immediately smitten with Lavonia's physical charms. He hired her instantly, and instantly made advances. Lavonia had always been tormented by boys when she was young and awkward, and thus disdained all men in the present. She reacted by whacking him violently in the kneecaps with her parasol. Tidwell was a man of greedy appetites and explosive temper; she would have been unhesitatingly fired under normal circumstances. But Tidwell needed genuine help with his newspaper, and had foolishly insisted on a ridiculous amount of testing before concluding she was indispensable. It was his misfortune to know she typed 273 words per minute and could spell 'surreptitiously' without looking it up in the dictionary..." END OF EXCERPT

Lavonia survives unexpected beauty, wealth, and male attention--only to face financial disaster. She pulls herself up by her bootstraps to become a financially successful writer, with plenty of laughs along the way. Read on to learn how she finds true love at last.

SHIPPING: $1.50 First Class Mail within the Continental U.S. Canada shipping is $3.75 First Class Mail International. This story is 12-1/2 pages long (7 sheets of paper)

Looks like she'd make a good prison warden, doesn't she?

STORY EXCERPT: "...The account of General Sherman's invasion at Gingertree was told and retold over several generations, with occasionally comic embellishments. It seemed Sherman sometimes had a glass eye that fell out when confronted by both Delia's and Almeda's stare; on other occasions the modest molasses barrel was an empty coffin filled to the top with powder and exploding with such force that it felled several trees. Other ornamental details included the entire household pelting the retreating Union Army with rocks--highly unlikely, in view of the burning house--and Almeda actually hitting Sherman in the forehead with the bucket, leaving behind a permanent scar..." END OF EXCERPT.

It's the middle of the War between the States in Morgan County, Georgia, and Almeda Blue must somehow hold her household together amid the scourge of typhoid, Union soldiers, and her own hardheaded approach to all things challenging...She manages some surprisingly creative solutions to the struggle of making ends meet and dealing with an enemy greater than herself.

I am a freelance fiction writer that enjoys copywriting and handcrafting my own books. I will be standardizing all single story covers over the next few weeks.

This short story contains no foul language, no graphic violence, no explicit sex, and no sexual situations. Fun for the whole family...

All stories printed in #11 font, two-sided printing. To see a page sample, look at the photos in my hardcover section. This story is 8-1/2 pages long (5 sheets of paper)

Are you a beer-swilling, potato-chip chomping, football-watching male that likes to read? (Something besides the TV Guide and Sports Illustrated, that is)...Escape that boring rut with Rufus McGraw, Spy--a Victorian adventure that makes a pirate's life seem dull. Although both sexes enjoy this tale, men seem to especially like it...

STORY EXCERPT: "...Rufus was a force to be reckoned with. According to Lenolia, he: "...never went on a mission without a pocket knife, six feet of fine rope coiled in his petticoat, and a pistol tucked in his garter. He carried an extra pair of black gloves, a bottle of pure alcohol, and a large packet of cayenne pepper. The pepper was slid inside his basque, to be retrieved quickly..." END OF EXCERPT.

Poor Rufus--looks like a girl, doesn't he? Well, we can't all be born with great genes...It's 1866 North Carolina, and the SS of Vine (Secret Society for the Salvation and Preservation of Vintage Southern Wine) needs a spy to retrieve some 5,000 bottles of vintage southern wine that has survived the Civil War. Only one name stands out in this hushed circle--an unusually creative chemist named Rufus McGraw. There is only one drawback; at five feet tall and 118 pounds, Rufus will attract attention, jeopardizing both himself and the mission. The solution? That he should masquerade as a woman, thus rendering himself virtually invisible. And so, Rufus dons corset and petticoats to become one of history's most elusive, evasive spies...

I am a freelance fiction writer that enjoys copyrighting and handcrafting my own books. Fun for the whole family!

Looking for that special gift for the person that LOVES to read? You know who I mean--the kind of person that likes to garden, try new recipes, sip tea in the afternoon, and read a good book! Give them the escape they need with this comic, Victorian five-story collection of my own original writing. They'll get a chance to step back in time and enjoy a slower pace of life--a time when women read novels while lounging in their corsets and men relaxed with a good book and a snifter of brandy. Excerpts of three of the stories are listed below. YOU ARE PURCHASING ONLY THE BOOK SHOWN. Check out my positive feedback, and buy with confidence!

EXCERPT of RUFUS MCGRAW, SPY: "...In addition to his native English, he was fluent in Italian, German, French, Spanish, Chinese, Apache, and Zulu--though how he conquered Zulu was a mystery to us all, since he never left the North American Continent....He was a masterful actor and very convincing. He once persuaded a visiting Spanish aristocrat that the tiny pebbles in his soup (placed there by Rufus himself) were actually lentils imported from Venezuela. The nobleman cracked three teeth, and while he screamed for a doctor, Rufus made off with sixty bottles of Apple Nutmeg Wine, and a case of vodka." END OF EXCERPT

Synopis: The SS of Vine needs a spy to retrieve some 5,000 bottles of rare wine displaced after the Civil War. They decide that Rufus McGraw, a brilliant and inventive chemist ready to take a risk, is their man. But Rufus is distinctive at five feet two and 118 pounds; such unusual stature will make him stand out, jeopardizing the mission. The SS decides he must masquerade as a woman...And so, Rufus dons corset and petticoats to become one of history's most elusive, evasive spies--ever.

EXCERPT: LADY PANDORA LASLOW: "One day Pandora, depressed, without money or prospects, flung herself from a footbridge into the Thames River. The modest fall of six feet failed to end her life, however, and she was rescued by then-Chief-of-Police, William Laslow....William Laslow was immediately smitten with her work-worn hands, and courted her with violent fervor..." (END OF EXCERPT)

SYNOPSIS: Pandora rides the rollercoaster of life in Victorian England, rising from poverty to move about in Queen Victoria's court. But the rollercoaster is still plunging recklessly forward, and Pandora unexpectedly finds herself confined to the Tower of London.

EXCERPT: CARSON SOLGATE (The London Ringer): "...In the summer of 1844, Lyman's Jewelry Store was robbed.

SYNOPSIS: Mystery, suspense--hilarity! Carson Solgate torments all Victorian London with his strange, unusual thieving. At Queen Victoria's command, the authorities struggle to capture this illusive thief--to no avail. Then Carson falls hard and fast for his brother's fiancee, Christiana Balfour (pictured on the book cover). Will his passion for her ensnare him at last?

Two more stories included: LAVONIA BLUE LAWTON and ALMEDA BLUE.

This book is 63 pages long and includes a total of six antique photo reprints of the 'characters' included in the 'biographies'. The cardstock cover is overlaid with pretty sage green and white decorative paper (a little deeper in tone than I could capture in my photo) and embellished with pink and green ribbon detailing, pink fabric roses, pink pearlized beads, and sparkling green beads.

If you live outside the Continental U.S. and postage is not posted, please convo me for a shipping quote. Eight of the lighter stones appear to be a green aurora borealis. Condition is excellent, with only a small area of discoloration on the very center of the pin bar (no doubt from being slid through fabric over the years) but this, of course, would not be at all visible when worn.

I have worn this brooch several times, receiving many compliments on its beauty, but the pin is rather large for my five-foot-two frame; it tends to dominate me! The brooch measures approximately 2.25" across, and it always looks a little too big on me. So, if you're a tall, statuesque woman looking for a beautiful piece that won't get lost on your person, you've found it.

Shipping: $2.50 within the Continental U.S. Canada shipping is $4.50 First Class Mail International. White with cascading pink and yellow roses and green leaves. Gold trim has minimal wear and pattern is excellent. A great bowl for that shabby cottage look, except there is nothing shabby about this bowl! No chips, cracks, crazing or fleabites. Bowl measures approximately 8-1/2 inches from rim to rim and stands about 2-1/4" high. Very pretty!

NOTE: The colors on this bowl are actually very strong, clear, and bright; they look a little paler in my photos. Was $22, now 19.80

This collection of stories contains no foul language, no graphic violence, explicit sex, or sexual situations. Fun for the whole family....

PLEASE NOTE: Due to a sagging economy and rising shipping costs, all hardcover books and some softcover books will be shipped MEDIA MAIL. If you wish speedier shipping and would like PRIORITY MAIL, please contact me for an adjusted invoice.

Do real men read Jane Austen? Indeed they do! Although Jane's voice as a writer was ladylike, prim, and suitably proper, she often stated bald truths with all the timidity of Rooster Cogburn charging to meet the enemy, swinging a rifle in one hand with the bridle reins clenched between his teeth. Are you a real man that reads Jane Austen? Then you may enjoy my similarly ironic wit and abrasive humor. In that case, you won't want a book sprinkled with flowers across the cover, but a book for a man's man--like this bold black-and-burgundy chevron stripe. On the other hand, if you have all the physical characteristics that technically define you as male, but must first ask your mama before taking a risk on a new writer, then you are in the wrong store.

This hardcover book features all five of the biographies displayed in my softcover section: Rufus McGraw, Lady Pandora Laslow, Carson Solgate, Lavonia Blue Lawton, and Almeda Blue. For detailed excerpts, please check my softcover section. Below is a little about Rufus McGraw:

RUFUS McGRAW was a real man, even if he did look suspiciously like a woman. Below are some excerpts from the book offered--FABRICATED FAMILY--A COMEDY OF VICTORIAN BIOGRAPHIES, VOLUME I:

"'...he weighed only three pounds, two ounces when he was born, and matters improved little as he advanced.'...By the time Rufus reached eighteen, he stood five feet two and weighed a mere 118 pounds. In time, his diminutive size and androgynous features would make him one of history's most evasive spies."

"Rufus was a force to be reckoned with...He could carry up to five bottles of wine in his petticoats and move swiftly without clanking...In addition to his native English he was fluent in Italian, German, French, Spanish, Chinese, Apache, and Zulu--though how he conquered Zulu was a mystery to us all, since he never left the North American Continent."

"He once persuaded a visiting Spanish aristocrat that the tiny pebbles in his soup (placed there by Rufus himself) were actually lentils imported from Venezuela. The nobleman cracked three teeth, and while he screamed for a doctor, Rufus made off with sixty bottles of Apple Nutmeg Wine, and a case of vodka."

BOOK DESCRIPTION: This book is constructed of durable 1/8" Masonite and cabinet-grade Formica, both covered in cotton fabric. The book measures roughly 9-1/2"X12" and weighs two pounds--it has a nice, solid feel that must be experienced to fully appreciate. The 63-page manuscript is hand-stitched with German upholstery thread and printed on 24 lb paper. The book features five glossy antique photo reprints, a ribbon bookmark, colorful end papers, and my original signature.

A NOTE ABOUT SHIPPING: Shipping is $5.00 MEDIA MAIL within the Continental U.S. If you are in a hurry and would like to save money, I can ship your book $9.00 PRIORITY MAIL--just contact me for an adjusted invoice. Handcrafted with quality crepe paper onto a wooden skewer, this rose meaures approximately 4-1/2" across and a finished height of 13 inches.

I have included a photo as an example of how this rose may be used for parties, weddings, and showers.
$22.00
Looking for a festive, yet inexpensive way to create that party atmosphere? These charming pink and white crepe paper roses arranged in a vase are stylish yet fun at the same time! Suitable for anniversary parties, bridal showers, baby showers, graduation parties, or even as an unexpected gift for that friend who loves girly things! This arrangement is shown in pink and white, but virtually any color can be done, and if you have a specific request, please convo me and we'll work it out.

How This Is Constructed: Crepe paper is twined on wooden skewers, and then green silk leaves are added. A 'vase' is constructed out of white cardboard and expertly covered with heavy cardstock. The 'vase' is then weighted slightly for stability, and the roses arranged in foam. Filled with shredded fill paper and then topped with ribbon curlicues, these arrangements are a lot of fun!

A photo of this arrangement with a teacup has been shown to give scale. Teacup is not included with your purchase.
