Winter Wonderland is an Artisan Made lampworked tree bead that has been sprinkled with white enamel & fine silver wire. This bead was the view out the studio window during the New Years Day Nor' Easter! The tree is made with skinny dark purple plum and black stringers that are carefully placed on the bead to look like branches. Once the bead is made the bead is sprinkled with enamels and then decorated with fine silver dots to look like sparkling snow flakes.... there are tiny little whirl-winds hopefully spinning the snow off into someone elses yard so that I don't have to shovel it!

The bead is based on a technique I learned from Ana of Anastasia Beads at a workshop in Ottawa.

The focal bead is 43 mm (1.7 inches) hole to hole and has a max width of approx 31 mm (1.2 inches) and is 10. mm (.4 inches)thick.

I have a number of very helpful feline assistants that try very hard to be helpful! This is Zoom Zoom (I really wanted a Mazda Miata) He's just tested my new bags for the gallery and found them wanting!

Searching for the perfect autumn tree is an Artisan Made lampworked tree bead that has been sprinkled with fall coloured enamels. Lets face it... Even though it is now winter here I like Autumn a whole lot better than winter so lets celebrate my favorite season in the Maritimes with an Autumn Bead! (Hey were else do the broadcast leaf-o-meter ratings on the radio!) The tree is made with skinny little black stringers that are carefully placed on the bead to look like branches. Once the tree is made the bead is sprinkled with enamels and then decorated with dots to resemble fall leaves.... This bead does stand up so it could be added to your bead collection or it could be made into a necklace.

The bead is based on a technique I learned from Ana of Anastasia Beads at a workshop in Ottawa.

The focal bead is 38.1 mm (1.5 inches) hole to hole and has a width of approx 29.6 mm (1.16 inches) and is 11.9 mm (.47 inches)thick.

This bead was basically the view out my window yesterday while we were being slammed by another nor easter! The background under the white enamel is a very pale transparent lavender. The tree is made with skinny dark purple plum and black stringers that are carefully placed on the bead to look like branches. Once thebead is made the bead is sprinkled with enamels and then decorated with fine silver dots to look like sparkling snow flakes.... there are tiny little whirl-winds spinning the snow off into someoen elses yard...

The bead is based on a technique I learned from Ana of Anastasia Beads at a workshop in Ottawa.

The focal bead is 43 mm (1.7 inches) hole to hole and has a max width of approx 38 mm (1.4 inches) and is 10. mm (.4 inches)thick.

The relaxed cat in the final picture does annealing tests on most beads... after a long hard day of abusing beads she is relaxing in amongst the beads she has just tested for durability!

I commented today that I was going to go wade through my beads and find something to list... I'm sure if I gathered up all the beads that I have stashed on this property that I would end up with a pile of beads big enough to wade through... these are what was extracted for your viewing pleasure... actually there are 9 of these beads but I split them into two sets... (there is also another set of 6 that I made on another day but they turned out almost black.... so if you would prefer a set of little black hearts convo me!) My stash of beads grows daily... I really need to figure out a way to sell some of them.. varies charities get a box every spring but I'm still running out of floor space!

The hearts are discs made out of odd lot double helix... the holes are about 3 mm and the hearts are balanced so that the heart hangs point down if you run a wire through them! (I did plan it that way... it's nice when things work!) You could use these as buttons if you put a small delica on top of the hole lying sideways....

My beads are made by me one at a time in my Deer Island studio, all of my 'beads' go directly from my torch flame into my kiln where they are properly kiln annealed for strength and durability.

This (medium kalera) bead would make a great focal in a bracelet... the base is red effretti with a luscious dark silver plum heart swirled on top... I have included 4 complimentary spacer beads with my heart!

The heart bead is .75 (20 mm)inches hole to hole, .65 inches wide and .53 inches thick.

These beads have all been made on a 1/16 mandrel by me in my Deer Island Studio. All my beads are properly annealed and cleaned.

Fireballbeeds- The copper in Me - Artisan Large holed lampwork glass bead - ( 1 bead)

The copper in Me is a large holed Heart disc bead. This bead was made using copper green and EDP effretti glass on a large mandrel but I've filled some of the hole with COPPER! The remaining hole is 10.5 mm or (.4 inches). Once the bead was annealed it was electroformed to add the copper to the bead. Then it was thrown in a number of different solutions trying to get a nice patina... The Patina has been sealed with Renaissance wax.

You are getting:
1 hand formed glass heart bead that has been electroformed with copper. (7.5 mm thick and 26.0mm wide & 29.5 mm long)

Gumball Machine Artisan Made Lampwork Gumball Machine pendant

This is a really cute little lampworked Glass Gumball Machine... (It' is one bead the base and hollow globe are all one bead) The hollow glass globe has been filled with tiny glass gumballs (AKA seed beads! You wouldn't beleive how hard it is to put those beads in and make them stay there!). It has been wired with sterling silver & Fine silver findings so is ready to wear or since it stands on it's own it can just sit on a shelf full of miniatures!

The glass part of the gumball machine is just over an inch tall, with the silver findings it is 2.1 inches. The 'glass globe' on the gumball machine has a .8 inch diameter. I have a selection of sterling silver snake chains available if you want it to arrive ready to wear... Convo me for prices and lengths.

My Gumball Machine is like all my other 'fireballbeeds' it was made by me in my Deer Island Studio. All my beads are properly annealed and cleaned. Filling these is not fun!

"Does Rudbeckia come in Green" obviously it does... Just Look! This is a lampworked bead with a lite green core which is encasing a copper floral ribbon. The bead has been decorated with four Rudbeckia flowers. The details of the flowers and vines are done with hand pulled stringers. The design is drawn on the hot glass with the stringers.

The focal bead is 40. mm (1.5 inches) hole to hole and has a diameter of approx 18.2 mm (.7 inches) at it's mid point and is approx 12.1 mm (.47 inches) thick.

Multiple views of a bicone lampworked bead decorated with two Dichroic flowers. The base bead is black glass which has Gold Leaf on the surface. The details of the flowers and vines are done with hand pulled stringers which are used to draw the design on hot glass .

The focal bead is 38.9 mm (1.53 inches) hole to hole and has a diameter of approx 16.45 mm (.64 inches) at it's mid point.

This bead is very similar to Dichro & Glitz except it's a different shape and the vines and leaves are much paler and because it's flat it will lye flat! It has one large flower on the front and two on what I consider to be the back! The base bead is black glass which has Gold Leaf on the surface. The details of the dichro flowers and vines are done with hand pulled stringers which are used to draw the design on hot glass .

The focal bead is 37.2 mm (1.46 inches) hole to hole and has a diameter of approx 15.8 mm (.62 inches) at it's mid point and it's7.1 mm thick (.25 inches)

Xipe-Huemac The Aztec Love Bird

Meet Xipe-Huemac, he's Xipe_Topecs brother. They are Aztec Love Birds not sure why I've decided that these are Aztec Love Birds... But they are! The love bird part comes from their heart shaped wings.... Since they are Aztec (they do remind me of the carvings you see in Mexico...) I googled Aztec baby names Xipe-Huemac was born! Any beads sold between now and Feb 14 will come with a red heart bead in honor of Valentine's Day!

Xipe is 27 mm tall {1.1 inches} and can balance on his toes, he's wondering about ballroom dance classes? He's approx 10 mm thick and is flat so that he won't run around if you make him into a pendant! He was made using a 3/32 mandrel.

This hand formed cone bead would make a great focal in a necklace... the base is made from Lauscha (the colour chart says Dark Teal... I think it's a dark grey blue) The base is decorated with double helix murrini (made by me) and combed dots. There are three murrinis space evenly around the bead and 3 encased triton bubbles at the top. I have included 2 triton spacer beads.

The focal bead is 29.9 mm (1.12 inches) hole to hole, and it's way to lumpy to take an acurate diameter! The two spacers are 6.5 mm and 8 mm in diameter.

The 2 spacers have been made on a 1/16 mandrel and the focal was made using a 3/32 mandrel.

'Blue Hydrangea' is an Artisan Made large blue hollow bead with Blue and Orange Flowers. I love making hollow beads.. especially when they work! The bead is covered in little blue flowers with orange centers... I'm including 4 little orange spacers.

The bead is .74 inches (19.2mm) hole to hole..& has a diameter of 1.05 inches (26.7mm)The bead was made on a 3mm 3/32 mandrel. (the spacers were made on a 2mm, 1/16 inch mandrel). This bead has been carefully cleaned with a water pick to remove all the bead crap!

I just got back from NYC there is piece of Central Park Dedicated to John Lennon called Strawberry Fields... If your a Beatles fan this would be a great bead to add to your collection! This hand formed barrel bead would make a really pretty focal in a necklace... the core is black glass which has been covered in silver foil then thinly covered with a thin layer of Lauscha Strawberry . The base has then been decorated with green vines and tiny ivory flowers. Each flower has a carefully placed central bubble. I have included 6 grass green spacer beads. (I would quite happily change the colour of the spacer beads or add more if this isn't the right combination!).

The focal bead is .74 inches (18.8 mm)hole to hole, and has a diameter of approx. .65 inches (16.5 mm) The spacers are approx .28 inches.

The spacer beads have all been made on a 1/16 mandrel, and the 'flower garden' bead was made on a 3/32 mandrel.

A taste of Sunshine is an Artisan Made Oval Yellow Glass Focal Bead which has been flattened. This bead is 1.38 inches hole to hole and .75 inches wide and .29 inches thick.... The bead is made on a 3/32 mandrel and has been properly kiln annealed for strength and durability.

This bead is made using lausha's gorgeous yellow glass and is decorated with hairlike stringers dots and home made murini.

I listed this bead today because it's pouring and gloomy and it seems like forever since I last saw the sun!

Both sides of a rather sensuous bead... This bead 1.46 inches hole to hole, approx .75 inches wide and .30 inches thick.... It was made using a 2mm mandrel and has been properly kiln annealed for strength and durability.

The bead was made using one of my favorite colours of glass Opal yellow... I really like all the colour variations you get when using it! The bead is decorated with autumn flowers and thin black threads of glass

Fireballbeeds - Jellyfish Pendant

This pendant would make someone a great Christmas Gift! The main bead in the pendant has a Jellyfish floating happily through her kelp bead...

My jellyfish are inspired by the jellyfish tank in Honolulu & a tutorial by Mary Lockwood.... so if you don't have your own private Jellyfish tank to gaze into buy this it's a great substitute!

The pendant is wire wrapped with 18 gauge fine silver, Crystals and Bali silver findings.
The focal bead is .71 inches (18.3 mm)hole to hole, and has a diameter of approx. .72 inches (18.9 mm). The pendant is 47.48 mm (1.8 inches) long. (the piece of wire in image 5 is not included!)

I have made jellyfish earrings they are adorable... so if you need earrings to go with this pendant let me know... I also have silver chains as I run a gallery in the summer!

This bead would make a gorgeous pendant.. or you could just stand it up in your bead collection....The bead has two jellyfish both on the front, they are floating through kelp and rocks in their miniature glass aquarium, the water sparkles with flecks of dichro, and there are 3 hand made murini up one edge. My Jellyfish beads remind me of the jellyfish tank in Honolulu. So if you don't have your own private Jellyfish tank to gaze into buy this it's a great substitute! The jellyfish are based on the tutorial by Mary Lockwood....

The bead is 1.34 inches (34.2 mm)hole to hole, and has a width of approx. .90 inches (22.6 mm)and is .64 inches (16.6 mm thick. The bead was made on a (3mm) 3/32 mandrel.

The colours on this bead are a bit washed out in these pictures... we are suffering from a rare day of Sunshine!

This is a handformed white bead that has been decorated with Copper foil and enamels prior to having thread like stringers applied to make the Silhouette of a tree.

Trees in winter is 1.11 in hole to hole (26.8 mm)and has a .4 inch diameter at the top and .6 at the base (10 mm - 15mm diameter) It was made on a 3/32 in mandrel (3mm).

Fireballbeeds, Van Gogh's Iris Necklace

This piece was inspired by Van Gogh's painting "Irises!" I think it would make someone a great Christmas Present! It will come in a lovely necklace box ready to give....

I'm really pleased with the way this turned out.. the 'chain' is about 21 inches long and the Iris bead is attached with a lobster claw to the toggle so the necklace can be worn without the bead.

The iris bead is about 40 mm (1.57 inches) and hangs 94 mmm (3.7 inches) off of the toggle.

This hand formed white heart has a copper cutout cupid on one side and a copper cutout heart on the other.... Is Cupid looking for the heart on the back of his heart or is finding the one he is living on going to keep him happy? The heart also has enamels sprinkled on it...

The white heart is approx 18 mm hole to hole hole, it is approx 19.6 mm wide at the top, and is 12.3 mm thick .

This hand formed pink heart with it's tiny cobalt blue flowers, and silver leaves & vines, would look great wire wrapped and hung from a chain! I have included 2 spacer beads. OK so it's not quite Hollowe'en... but that's only 4 months to Valentines!

The pink heart is approx 18 mm hole to hole hole, it is approx 19.6 mm wide at the top, and is 12.3 mm thick The spacers are 7.5 mm and 8.1 mm.

The spacer beads have all been made on a 1/16 mandrel, and the pink heart was made on a 3/32 by me in my Deer Island Studio. All my beads are properly annealed and cleaned.

The last Picture is the reason why all my pictures have short black hairs in them... It's his photo cube!

Xipe-Topec the Aztec Love Bird

Meet Xipe_Topec my Aztec Love Bird not sure why I've decided that these are Aztec Love Birds... But they are! The love bird part comes from their heart shaped wings.... Since they are Aztec (they do remind me of the carvings you see in Mexico...) I googled Aztec baby names my husband picked the letter and Xipe_Topec was born!

Xipe is 27 mm tall {1.1 inches} and can balance on his toes, he's wondering about ballet lessons? He's approx 10 mm thick and is flat so that he won't run around if you make him into a pendant! He was made using a 3/32 mandrel.

This tube bead has a white base with Copper dolphins and an angelfish frolicking through the ocean. There are waves and sand and a palm tree visible under the gorgeous tropical sun! Just wish there was room on the bead for my chair so I could join the fun!

This bead is 1.47 inches (37.51 mm) hole to hole and has a diameter of .61 inches (15.73 mm).... and it actually stands up! My beads are all properly kiln annealed for strength and durability.

Look what I found in the crypt (kiln?) this morning. Not sure what it was the Marvin wrapped himself in to go to the party as a mummy... he's mostly white but if you sneak him into a dark room he has splotches that glow in the dark!

Marvin is just over an inch square and approx .5 inches thick... His hole is vertical, he was made on 3/32 (3mm) mandrel . He would love to be made into a pendant!

Meet Adonia the Goddess of Love! She stands just over 1.75 inches tall (she does stand up but is a bit wobbly... you would be too if someone forgot to give you any feet!) Adonia is made out of Pink CIM glass and is decorated with copper foil and enamels.. she is wearing a 'necklace' of Double Helix 'beads'.

Adonia is approx 1.77 inches 'knee - neck', and is just under an inch thick belly button to butt (She says, she's really only .87 inches thick)... however when I held here down long enough to measure her hip to hip I discovered that she's 1 .12 inches that way.. (she claims that measurement is irrelevant!)! The bead was made on a 3mm 3/32 mandrel. She does stand up but it is not as stable as some of my beads I wouldn't trust her not to lie down and take a nap if you turn your back on her!

Three different sides of in my opinion a REALLY NICE tube bead... (I guess I might be a little biased!) It is 1 1/3inches long and has a .45 inch diameter. The bead is made with the original double helix Kronos and Moretti dark silver plum. All my beads are properly kiln annealed for strength and durability. ..... It is so gloomy here today that I had to take the pictures on the rug by the window!

I love Black Eyed Susans or Rudbeckia, they are almost impossible to kill and last forever in the garden! This bead has a gold and red transparent base! The flowers and vines are added with handpulled stringers. There are two flowers on the front and one on the back, and because it's flat it will lie flat! (the last picture of the bead shows the bead upside down, as it stood up unsupported that way!)

The focal bead is 41.6 mm (1.63 inches) hole to hole and has a diameter of approx 24.73 mm (.97 inches) at it's mid point and it's 13.1 mm thick (.51 inches)

This hand formed barrel bead would make a great focal in a necklace... the core is black glass which has been thinly covered with aqua and then decorated with green vines and white & green flowers. Each flower has a carefully placed central bubble. This bead in sunlight has a beautiful aqua glow! I have included 8 spacer beads, 4 black, 2 aqua and two sage green (I would quite happily change the colour of the spacer beads it these aren't what you want!).

The focal bead is .81 inches hole to hole, and has a diameter of approx. .76 inches. The spacers range in diameter from approx .37 to .32 inches.

The spacer beads have all been made on a 1/16 mandrel, and the 'flower garden' bead was made on a 3/32 mandrel.
