This gorgeous piece of rainbow ammolite has been waiting for ages for me to make something from it - here it is!

The ring is entirely handcrafted of sterling silver, with 4 glittering, diamond-like cz's and a beautiful piece of top quality ammolite, with a faceted cap!! The facets on the protective clear spinel cap catch the flashes of blue, reds and green and make them even more eye catching.

This ring is size 7 3/4 and cannot be sized.

What is Ammolite?

***Ammolite is the mineralized remains of the fossil Ammonite Placenticeras. Ammonites were a hard-shelled squid-like creature similar to the modern Nautilus that lived during the Cretaceous Period. The gemstone material is formed from the compacted remains of the shell which was exposed to eons of tectonic movement, mineralization, intense pressure and heat. Gem-quality Ammolite is only found in the Bearpaw formation that extends from southern Alberta to Saskatchewan. There is only one area that is actively producing gem material, located near Lethbridge, Alberta.

How old is Ammolite?

***Ammolite is about 70 million years old.

Is Ammolite a gemstone?

***Ammolite was granted official gemstone status in 1981 by the CIBJO International Commission of Colored Gemstones.

Is Ammolite rare?

***It is considered to be one of the rarest gems on earth, if not the rarest, because of the extremely limited geographical area that the gem is found in.

Is this Ammolite treated?

***Nearly all the Ammolite jewelry sold by Crowsnest Mountain Jewelry is in triplet form. Ammolite gem is very thin, less than 1mm, and quite delicate and prone to flaking. This Ammolite has a backing of stone, and there is a clear spinel cap on the gem to protect it from fading and damage. This is the same treatment that is done to opal.

How do I care for my Ammolite?

***The most important thing is keeping it out of water. If you are wearing an ammolite ring, and wash the dishes, water can seep in under the cap and the stone, and ruin your gem. A little water won’t hurt it, but do not let it soak. A polishing cloth is provided to keep the silver bright.

This ring has a white cultured pearl in one "dish" and in the other is a faceted (sparkly) round London blue topaz. Lovely!

This is an interesting ring! It is entirely handcrafted of sterling silver, and oxidised then polished so the dark parts will keep getting darker and the high points stay bright. The stones are cultured ruby and cubic zirconia. Cultured ruby is physically, chemically, and optically identical to mined ruby, except it is grown in a laboratory and not mined.

I wanted this ring to look a little bit dark and brooding, I call it the tangle ring because it looks a bit like its been bound. When I think about new love, I remember it being easy to obsess about, like its always on your mind, to the point of being uncomfortable sometimes! This ring is similar - it is comfortable, but you know it is there, the wires always reminds you that it is on your finger, or that you have love on your mind!

This ring is size 4.75 and I'm sorry, it cannot be sized. It is one of a kind, and ready to ship!

this ring will be an eye catching conversation piece!

I handcrafted the ring out of sterling silver, adding delicate twisted hearts and spirals all around the band, and using the tops of two hearts to hold to stone in. The ring has been oxidized, and will keep getting darker with time; enhancing the contrast; while the spirals and hearts are highly polished and will stay bright and shiny.

The stone is a beautiful light pink rose quartz, with a checkerboard cut on the top of the stone, giving it a lovely sparkle! It has a soft look to it, giving it a moonstone-like quality. My photos can't portray how beautiful this stone is! It is just over 13mm across, a very large stone!!

This ring is size 5.5, will fit size 6, but tightly because of the wide band. This is truly a one of a kind piece!

Structural Pink Sapphire Ring

This ring is my favorite yet! Its big and very sparkly, entirely handcrafted by me in sterling silver. The main stone is a huge cultured pink sapphire, 9mm across. There are also two small cubic zirconias set on either side of the round bar running under the sapphire.

This ring is a size 7.5. It is stamped .925 (sterling silver)

Cultured sapphires are grown in a laboratory, not in the ground. The physical, chemical, and optical properties are the same as a mined sapphire, they are virtually identical except for the way they are formed. Hardness is 9. (diamond is 10.)

As a gemologist, I always disclose each and every stone I use in my jewelry. It can be very easy to confuse or miss-sell a natural stone for a cultured one, as even chemical (R.I.) tests will not differentiate between the two.

In the case of this ring, it is many times more affordable than a ring with a mined stone of this size and quality! Enjoy wearing this ring and the compliments you will inevitably get on it!

This little dish ring has a slightly squared band made of sterling silver (stamped .925) and in the little cup is a white cultured freshwater pearl - but this time I did something a little different and set a small cubic zirconia into the top of the pearl. The cz is very small, only 1.5mm, so it just gives a tiny little glint that makes you do a double take. its very subtle!

Cocktail Ring - bicolor quartz filigree scrollwork

This is a great ring for holiday parties, and such a unique stone!!

The stone is cultured bi-color quartz, (which is man-made) and the interesting thing about it is that this stone is a mistake!

It was created using the hydrothermal proceess: what they do is use a 'seed plate' which is the white/colorless layer of quartz, and then the process 'grows' layers of quartz from that first seed plate, in pretty much any color or combination. Hydrothermal quartz should never show the seed plate, which is why this stones is a bit of an oops. It should only show green and yellow!

Hydrothermal quartz is identical in every way to mined quartz, except for inclusions inside the stone.

I only have one more of these stones, and I'll never find more like them, so this is a one of a kind ring!

The ring is solid sterling silver, with a lovely vintage-y looking filigree pattern down each side of the stone. I have oxidised and polished the ring to highlight the details!

This ring is a size 7.

This listing is for a single Golden south sea pearl pendant. The pendant pictured is NOT for sale - shown as a demonstration of what your pendant will look like.

While completing my gemological credentials in Asia I had the opportunity to attend several gem and jewelry shows (please see my profile for more information,) and purchased 5 individual Golden south sea pearls. These are authentic south sea pearls, not "shell" pearls which are made of ground and reconstructed oyster shells.

The oyster pinctada maxima takes a minimum of 2 years to produce one pearl, and these pearls are considered rare and very valuable. They are characterized by their large size and soft, satiny luster.

If you would like a pendant, I have 4 large (9mm to 13mm) semi-round golden south seas ranging in color. They will be put on a bail of your choice, solid 14k white or yellow gold.

This pretty little ring is made of sterling silver, with a cultured peach pearl and three little copper "eggs."

The ring is size 7.5, and very slightly adjustable. it can go up one size, or down one size without soldering, just by slightly squeezing it. (great for cold winter days when your fingers seem to shrink a little!!)

I can make more of these rings with white or pink pearls, convo if you're interested!

These earrings are handmade from sterling silver, they have a teardrop shaped turquoise cabochon set into them, and to dress them up a bit, a 4mm glittering white cubic zirconia. They have handmade shepherd hook earwires to give them movement and sparkle when you turn your head.

The total length of these earrings is 2.5cm. They are quite light and easy to wear!
