One of the many traditions of the Airship Officers Guild is to present the spouse of each officer with a beautiful piece of jewelry. This is the necklace that is presented to the wives of Airship Officers. The number of stones on the necklace symbolize the rank of her husband. It is considered quite a status symbol to have and ware one of these necklaces.

The Guild is very firm in its belief that members be jugged on their abilities and job performance, not their gender of sexual orientation. Accordingly, if an officer's spouse is a man, he is presented with a brooch (rather than a necklace) representing the rank of his spouse.

This necklace is hand made using the highest quality pewter, with brass and Swarovski crystals. The chain is brass (not just brass plated) and is secured by a lobster claw clasp. I made the pewter part first, from 9 different pieces of metal. I then had pewter castings made of it. To a casting, I added the three brass components and the two segments of chain. Then came the connecting links for the clasp (100% soldered chain and connecting links) and finally the Swarovski crystals.

The necklace is about 1 1/4 inch (4.5 cm) wide and the chain is about 16 inches (41 cm) long. If you need the chain longer or shorter, I can do that for you. Please convo me BEFORE purchasing if you need a different chain length.

The Pirates of the Central Coast region have unleashed a new weapon upon the commerce and the people of the area.

In recent years, the pirates of the Central Coast area have had their way with shipping in area waters. Many hapless seamen had the misfortune of serving on a vessel that the pirates had set their eyes upon. Fortunes were lost. The cost of life and limb, and the disruption of commerce caused great distress among the people of the region. Even the formation of the Central Coast Marine Militia (CCMM) three years ago had little effect on the havoc wreaked by these scoundrels. That was the case until the CCMM contracted for the services of Elite Marine Engineering Ltd to build an advanced submarine. "The Avenger" as she was christened turned the tables when she sank the pirate flagship "Darklady". Soon after the seas of the Central Coast were pacified under the watchful eyes of the CCMM. The rule of law prevailed.

Though they had been driven from those waters, the pirates were soon to return to the Central Coast area. It seems that resourcefulness is a quality well worn by this dastardly bunch. If the seas were taken from them, then the skies would be there's!

An extraordinarily fierce airship was build. Dubbed "Revenge", those who first saw its destructive abilities could hardly believe their eyes. Surely these thieving pirates did not possess such extraordinary airship building capabilities! Indeed, it has been said that disgruntled employees of Elite Marine Engineering aided the pirates by secretly passing on advanced technology. Regardless of the truth of these accusations, there was no denying the power of the ship. Among its weaponry was a model EM-667 gun, said to bring destructive force greater than Satin himself to any who lay in its way. The ship also features a forward ramming armature and, hidden behind the port porthole, an antique cannon. It is unknown if the pirates chose to place such a relic aboard in a fit of nostalgia, or if they simply had no other weaponry available (antique or not, it proved to be deadly). It is known that even though the pirates went to the considerable trouble to "obtain" the advanced EM-667 gun, they chose to buy a cheap rotating gear for it. As a result the gun does not rotate clockwise & counter clockwise as smoothly as it should; resulting in the occasional escape of an intended victim.

Never the less, the well being of the population of the Central Coast area is in jeopardy!

This brooch/pin was the winner of the esteemed Etsy SteamTeam "Make it Work" award for a SteamPunk Style design with moving parts.

This piece is incredibly detailed and contains nine (9) moving parts. The EM-667 gun barrel moves up and down; the gun and its rotating gear move clockwise & counterclockwise (although not as smoothly as the pirates might like); the port porthole door opens and closes; the antique cannon inside rotates; using the control wheel and linkage bar the rudder moves left and right; and the propeller spins. All of this action and detail in a brooch that is only 2 3/4 inch (70 cm) long.

Note that ALL parts were made by myself (excluding the pinback parts). I made this piece from: a pewter block, brass rod stock, brass sheet, angle & channel stock, brass wire, copper wire, copper sheet, nickel silver tubing and pre-made nickel silver pin catch, joint and pinsteam.

Mlle Tounet cane

This is a lovely and truly unique piece. The beautifully carved sculpture of Mlle Tounet is carefully mounted on an exquisite piece of lignum vitae wood. The wood is perfectly shaped to comfortably fit the hand; and it is always lovely to have ones hand on Mlle Tounet's back.

This cane is the perfect accessory for a steamy night on the town. It goes great with a top hat!

This cane is intended for display, and light use only. Putting ones weight on the pewter figure could result in damage to the figure, and damage to the person trying to support themselves on it!

The cane is about 31 inches (77 cm) long; figure is about 4 1/2 inches (11.2 cm) in greatest dimension.
Yes, I sculpted the figure of Mlle Tounet; I had someone else make pewter castings for me. The lignum vitae was rough cut by a furniture maker* (I forgot his name), intended to become a table leg. I did all of the final shaping and finishing of the lignum vitae and fit the sculpted figure of Mlle Tounet onto it.

*The furniture maker rejected the "leg" and gave it to me. The furniture maker and his wife used to own an art gallery named "One Door, Many Welcomes" c. 1968 in Great Neck, NY. I had the very first exhibition of my sculpture in that gallery. Around 1970 they moved to Vergennes, VT so that he could pursue a career as a hand made furniture maker full time. Now that I am in Vermont too, I would love to get in touch with them. Anyone know them? Convo me if you do.

FYI, lignum vitae is the hardest wood known to man! Note that I obtained this piece of lignum vitae in the 1960's, long before exotic wood harvesting threatened tropical forests.

Adlie Jackman's Airship brooch/pin

Mr Jackman is a blacksmith and steam mechanic from Chicago. He is a man of great strength, moral conviction and motivation. He built this airship in his barn by himself. Crude by current airship standards, his ship has two seats. In addition to the pilot, there is room for one passenger. Reportedly, it takes a brave soul to be his passenger.

Unfortunately, Jackman's barn was located next to the barn of a certain Mrs. O'Leary. Jackman's barn caught fire soon after O'Leary's. Fortunately for the neighborhood (and possibly the entire city!) the resulting explosion extinguished the blaze. Jackman's airship was a total loss.

This is a one-of-a-kind, very detailed, hand made brooch/pin. The gondola swings on its chains and the propeller spins. Lots of fun for those who like to play with their jewelry. Time Traveler Insignia brooch pin

An extraordinary artifact was recently discovered in the ruins of a small farm structure in the rural lands to the South. Professor Maurice Jenkins, renowned tinkerer and reputed genius, was exploring the ruins after he became aware of reports that the structure had met its demise in a manor unexplainable by authorities. In a transaction between Jenkins and the farmer who owned the structure, Jenkins secured the exclusive rights to anything that he might find in the ruins (it is said that these rights set Jenkins back a tidy sum). With the assistance of two of his favorite students, Jenkins spent nearly two weeks at the site.

Little is known about the scope of the project, or the particulars of what Jenkins uncovered. What is knows is that one artifact has been put up for sale; an emblem of curious design. The good professor has said very little about the significance of the object, but others have offered their opinions.

Horatio Egbert Wallace PhD offered this: "There are time travelers among us. Beings form worlds too complex for our understanding that come here for a time, and then leave. Weather it is that they come to observe us, to help us, or if they are simply hear on holiday - there is no denying that they are here. To recognize each other they ware certain symbols, insignias if you will, jewelry actually. I believe that what Jenkins has found is one of these insignias."

Others offer different opinions. On the subject, Jenkins is mute.

Steamy World steampunk necklace

Once in a while, while working in the studio, I just need to take a break, and have some fun. That is how this Steamy little necklace came to be. I HAD TO set a project down, stretch a little, have some more coffee ... my eyes wondered over all of the pieces and parts that crowed my studio. I noticed this Hemisphere that I had made for another project - and had extra castings of, and this casting of a Top Hat that my father had made many years ago (used with his permission). Some how they just went together! Add a little brass turning left over from a Star Wars project and some sparkle from Swarovski and whala! A great little steamy necklace.

The Top Hat & Hemisphere are pewter, the crystal is Swarovski, the mechanical piece under the crystal and the bail are brass. This necklace is about 1 inch high and the chain is about 18 inches long. The chain is silver plated with a lobster claw clasp.

Renowned designer SteamSmith won the commission to create this extraordinary line of exquisite jewelry designs. This pair of cuff links is part of the collection. They have been, until now, available only to NewIndustries Ltd employees. We have had the good fortune to obtain a pair and are now offering them to you at a remarkably approachable price.

NewIndustries Ltd Airship Cuff Links are made of pewter and brass, with Swarovski crystals and nickel silver backs. Each cuff link measures about 1 inch x 1/2 inch (2.7 x 1.5 cm). They come in a clear top gift box.

Pewter and Black Onyx with silver-plated brass chain, lobster claw clasp.

Necklace is about 3 1/2 x 2 1/4 (9 cm x 6 cm); chain is about 18 inches long (45 cm).
