The doorjamb, with it's sun and moon symbols, is worked in colored pencil and ink and the surrounding wall in watercolor. As a finishing touch, sun and moon charms were glued above the door. Victorian Hearts Wall Quilt

This original, one of a kind wall hanging was designed and made by Donna. First, she hand cut 49 hearts, each one from a different fabric. She appliqued these onto squares of soft pink broadcloth. Then she put the squares together with strips of mint green cotton moire and dark green solid fabric, arranging them in a traditional Attic Windows pattern. She layered the top with polyester batting and light green broadcloth lining and hand quilted it, then bound the edges with bias tape. To make the quilt even more decorative, Donna created rosettes out of cotton and nylon lace and hand-strung beads and stitched them onto the quilt.

The spring rains have brought out a fine crop of mushrooms, creating a perfect playground. Look closely and you will see a whole band of tiny, bright fairies swinging, dancing and playing hide-and-seek in this mushroom garden. Overhead, a pale rainbow shines in the blue sky.
This wall hanging is a combination of fabric and fiber. The base is cotton quilting fabric. The mushrooms and other details are needle-felted using a mixture of man made and natural, animal fibers, and the fairies are twists of chenille stems. Judy dreamed up this delightful piece after seeing a cluster of mushrooms in the yard. It is completely original; there will never be another like it.

Siskiyou Tom the turkey is all wide eyes and fluttery wings but he has nothing to worry about; with his bright colors, he's sure to be a star come Thanksgiving. This hanging uses a variety of techniques. The spread tail feathers and waving grass were hand colored with permanent ink on cotton fabric. The rest of the turkey - head, body, wings, and feet - were needle felted directly on top of the tail using natural animal fibers. Googly eyes and a big, needle felted beak add the final touches. The wide border, backing and hanging loops are made of a bright Thanksgiving print cotton. This hanging is completely original and one of a kind. Horus Spreads His Wings Art Quilt, SALE

In this new piece, the Egyptian god Horus is shown as a man with the wings of a falcon. Standing on a stone dock, his wings spread to catch the rays of the morning sun, Horus embodies the timeless spirit of the Nile. The son of Isis and Osiris, Horus was well known in the myths of Ancient Egypt. He was a god of the sky whose eyes were the sun and the moon, and a god of victory. The pharaoh was said to be the Living Horus, the god come to earth. Horus was associated with the falcon or hawk, and was most often shown as either a falcon or a man with the head of a falcon.
This art quilt was completely designed and made by Donna. She drew the design, then hand appliqued the center section. The details on the wings, the wig and the collar were thread painted in rayon and metallic threads. A pieced border in the traditional flying geese pattern makes a frame around the center. It was layered with batting and a cotton lining and quilted. Both the thread painting and the quilting were done by Donna on a basic sewing machine, guiding each stitch by hand. No computerized patterns were used. Cotton bias tape, hand-stitched around the edge, finishes the quilt.
This is a one of a kind piece. There will never be another like it.

It's Samhain night, and this ancient tree is saying good-bye to the summer and preparing for her winter's sleep. A few bright leaves still cling to her branches, too few to hide a visiting owl. While she waits, she is keeping watch over a bubbling cauldron belonging to her witch friend. Far above, but close enough to touch, the full moon is sending down her blessings, energy for the cold months to come.
This original, Samhain inspired art quilt combines traditional applique and needlefelting. The background, tree, moon and cauldron are cut from high-quality cotton fabric and appliqued by hand. The campfire and foliage were needlefelted directly onto the quilt top using natural animal and rayon fiber. A layer of batting and a cotton back were added and the piece was outline quilted by machine and the edges bound by hand. A 4" sleeve was sewn on the back to hand the quilt. This one of a kind quilt would make a unique centerpiece for any Samhain or Halloween decoration.

This is not quite a door, but instead a whole magical house. The tiny fairies seen in the felted 'Fairies in the Mushroom Garden' have set up housekeeping in this 2 story mushroom. The door and window are made of frosted 'glass' with a leaf pattern. The door handle is a small twig. This piece would make a light-hearted addition to any room and a delightful companion piece to the felted hanging.

This 3-dimensional picture is made using a mixture of techniques and materials. To make the mushroom, pieces of cotton fabric were glued onto foamboard. The fabric door and window were glued in place. The whole piece was then glued onto watercolor paper and finishing touches added with paint and ink.

This unique 3-dimensional door is made with a mixture of materials and techniques. The doorway is fabric covered foamboard. A fabric background is glued to the back, then the whole piece is glued onto watercolor paper. Cotton netting, shells, and miniatures are glued or sewn into place. A watercolor wash on the paper adds a final touch.

Inspired by stories of scryers, fortune tellers who use bowls of water, this art doll is a ooak original. It is made of cotton fabric using my own patterns. The arms and legs have a fabric-wrapped wire core so that they can be gently positioned and are attached at the hip and shoulder with buttons. He is dressed in a white cotton tunic tied with a black and silver lace sash, black faux-suede pants and matching boots. His thick black hair is made of natural animal fiber. Look closely to see the silver hoop in one ear. The scrying bowl in his hands was shaped from clay and painted with pearlized paint. The 'water' is an acrylic cabochon bead. His removable cape is fully reversible. On one side is black cotton fabric with a silver spiderweb design; the other is the same black suede as his pants. The features are worked with permanent ink.
This doll is a companion to the Fortune Teller. Alone or together, they would make a unique Halloween display or a perfect addition to any collection.

Inspired by the traditional image of a fortune teller, this art doll is a ooak original. It is made of cotton fabric using my own patterns. The button-jointed arms and legs have a wire core so that they can be gently positioned. She is wearing a white cotton peasant blouse, a dark purple satin skirt with a lacy overskirt, and black faux-suede boots. Her long black hair, made of natural animal fiber, is held back by a black and silver lace scarf. Her ankle length cape is is fully reversible and ties at the throat. One side is black cotton with a spiderweb design worked in silver metallic; the other side is the same black suede as her boots. Beaded hoops dangle from her ears and in her hand is a 'crystal ball' made from a clear acrylic bead. The features are worked in permanent ink.
With or without her companion, the Far Seer, this original 12" doll would make an unusual centerpiece for a Halloween scene and would make a perfect addition for any collection.

Do princesses love pink? Well, the fairy princess who lives behind this door obviously does. The 'door' itself is made of hot pink, sparkle dusted fabric in a marble pattern. A dark pink leaf shaped bead forms the door knocker and a round pink bead is the knob. Fabric pots filled with hand-drown pink flowers flank the door, standing on the red and pink brick steps. The bright color is offset by a white and grey striped fabric door frame and light grey watercolor wall. Three hand drawn butterflies over the door add a final touch of pink to the scene.

Oregon Seashore Fabric Picture

Look into this fabric picture and let your imagination take you to a wild, undisturbed stretch of beach somewhere along the Oregon coast. Wander down past the dunes to the edge of the water. Stand watching the waves as they swirl around the offshore rocks then wash gently up at your feet, leaving behind shells and stones and strands of seaweed.

This lovely 3-dimensional mixed media piece captures in fabric and fiber the feeling of being on such a beach. Cotton fabric is layered and fused to create a bacground. A light layer of blue fiber is needlefelted in place to suggest moving water, then small stones, shells and dried moss are glued along the beach. The finished piece is stretched around foamboard and paper glued to the back to seal the raw edges. The picture is ready to display, no matting or framing are necessary.

The brightly colored balloon swoops and dips as it passes above a field of grapes. This beautiful OOAK fiber art hanging is made entirely by hand without a pattern. Judy starts with a hand-drawn sketch then begins layering pieces of cotton fabrics with a mixture of yarns and natural fibers including llama, alpaca and goat. She then begins hand felting the piece, adding more layers and more textures until it has the effect she is looking for. Then she finishes it with polyester batting and a cotton lining and binds the edges.

Imagine a bird with brilliant scarlet and gold plumage, the most beautiful bird that ever lived, rising from the ashes of its nest and soaring across the night sky, bringing joy and inspiration to the world. This legend of the Phoenix, or the Firebird, was the inspiration for this one of a kind art quilt. The bird, based on an original drawing, was appliqued entirely by hand. The fabrics used are high quality cottons, many of them enhanced with metallic accents. The background was pieced in an original design out of a variety of black and grey cotton fabrics. The top was layered with lightweight batting and outline-quilted with metallic and rayon threads.

A note on the photos: the shimmering fabrics used in this quilt reflect the light causing it to appear a little lighter in color and a little shinier than it actually is.

Flying Leaves Wall Quilt, SALE

There are few things more evocative of autumn than swirls of many-colored leaves dancing in the wind. The colors in this original quilt were inspired by the beautiful pictorial fabric that forms the center. Overlapping scenes show the beauty of fall in the country. Surrounding the center is a wide border made up of old-fashioned Flying Geese blocks pieced from a multitude of autumn colors and a light blue background. Another traditional pieced block called the Windblown Square forms the four corners. Hang this one-of-a-kind quilt or throw it over a table to add a warm country feeling to any room.
