Fans of Harry Potter and especially that Master of Potions, Severus Snape, will love this elegant and unique Potion Pendant! It's a lovely translucent lavender that the camera simply can't capture well, with twisties, dichroic, and sparkling murrini floating mysteriously in the elixir. It measures 46mm by 20mm is finished with a handmade 18 gauge sterling silver headpin and "stoppered" with a specially drilled genuine peach colored pearl. I do wish I had time to make more of these. My cupcake beads were inspired by a drawing my little daughter made when she was five, which was many years ago. Her cupcake was so cute, a big pink one with chocolate chocolate chip icing and a cherry on top, that I made a mental note to try it in glass when I had the chance. They’ve become a little more sophisticated since that time, but they’re still 100% delicious and completely calorie free.

This little cupcake has a goldenrod yellow cup and lavender frosting with three tender rosebuds and leaves for decoration. The lavender is a magic color that changes to pale blue in fluorescent light. In sunlight and incandescent light it is the prettiest lavender imaginable. I made this heart shaped lampwork bead with swirls of deep dark purple and pale blue and lavender over the silver foil in the middle. Nautilus, little anemones and floating sea creatures cross the glittering surface. Some of the anemones have a little dichroic in them for extra rainbow sparkle. It's finished with a hand made sterling silver headpin and bead, and the whole pendant measures 37mm by 27mm by 12mm. It is very lovely, dark and mysterious!

a Chocolate Chip Lampwork Cookie Pendant before bedtime

I just had to make a chocolate chip cookie in glass. I finally discovered that there's an enamel powder that is just the right sandy brown to match a cooked Toll House cookie. So I make a round gather of glass, dip it several times in the enamel powder to make a good strong coating, flatten it with a masher and add a few dents and lumps with my marver. I make a stringer of black coated in brown for the chocolate chips, and after I dot and melt in the brown dots, I heat the biggest and pull out a point with the stringer so that it's a cookie that still has the tips to the chocolate chips. I'm sorry I forgot to make a picture of the back of the cookie, but it's just flat and the chips are melted in completely, just like it is when you scoop a real one off the baking sheet. This Chocolate Chip Cookie bead measures 17.5mm by 18mm and comes with a 18 gauge sterling silver headpin and a slender 18" sterling silver chain.
