A new platter for fans of temaki, or the hand-roll, the Japanese nori equivalent of the pita or tortilla - mmmm, itadakimasu!

Like all my sushi platter pendant, this one is entirely handcrafted out of polymer clay, hangs on your choice of an 18" silver plated ball chain or on a leather necklace (please specify 16" or 18"). On this new model you'll find a fresh temaki filled with avocado & salmon or tuna, amazingly detailed futomaki, two nigirizushi and of course, wasabi and lots of shoga!

Approximately 1.5" square. Each one is individually made so there are slight differences in every platter, making each one unique.

These miniature California rolls are entirely handcrafted out of polymer clay, adorned with wasabi green glass accent beads. These maki have been filled with ripe avocado and fresh salmon, and rolled up in soy wrappers AND an outer layer of nori... mmmmm!

All my sushi earrings are made with sterling silver wires and are also available with masago orange accent beads as seen in the last photo (pictured on the Cali roll with only the yellow soy wrapper - your earrings can be made with or without the black outer nori wrapping). If you would prefer the orange beads, simply let me know at checkout time.

This eggplant coloured lotus flower is one of my hand-carved stamps. The image has been heat embossed for texture on bamboo patterned washi (Japanese paper), and mounted on lilac textured paper.

The orizuru, or folded paper crane, symbolizes peace, longevity and fidelity in Japanese culture. Giving one to someone as a gift is a wish for them to have a healthy and harmonious life - the perfect little gift for any and all occasions!

Each crane is carefully folded from a sheet of beautiful Japanese paper and is strung on gold or silver thread, ready for hanging anywhere: in a doorway, from your rearview mirror or desk lamp, or in a window. It's tucked inside a folded card, also made with Japanese paper, in which you can write your message. Tuck the crane back inside the card, and it all fits neatly inside the accompanying white envelope (4 3/8" x 5 3/4").

When helping the recipient open up the crane, pull down gently on its wings, close to the body, and it'll puff right up.

Lots of colours available! I may not have exactly the paper patterns shown, but please ask, and I will do my best to send you what you're wishing for... This miniature version of a Japanese nagado taiko drum is entirely handcrafted out of polymer clay. It hangs from an 18" leather necklace with a silver tone clasp. Please let me know if you would prefer it on an adjustable leather cord with sliding knots, available for the same price.

The drum measures approximately 2 cm in length. Size and detail will vary since they are made one by one - each one is unique! All of these nagado taiko have securely attached side rings; the "tacks" on the drum skin are painted on and the entire drum is varnished.

This is THE original taiko necklace design by tatsuko (me!); the necklaces were first conceived in 2003 along with its okedo counterpart, exhibited and sold at the 2005, 2007 and 2009 North American Taiko conferences.

* Please note that shipping these little drums to you is more expensive than my other jewellery items, since they require more protection and are packaged in a jewellery box, and then in an envelope. Canada Post categorizes this as a parcel and thus, charges higher postage fees.

Surrounding the pendant is a sunny morning combo of coral, freshwater pearls, jasper, garnet and glass, as well as sterling silver spacers; it is finished off with transluscent mossy green seed beads. Asami measures 16" long; the hook clasp is also sterling silver.

These lovelies measure 44m from the top of the earwire to the bottom of the earring; the dangle alone measures 34mm.

These handmade earrings feature chiyogami paper in a pattern of red & white sakura blossoms against a pitch black sky; accents are in gold. Please go to the end of the description for more info on chiyogami.

The chiyogami is sealed onto two layers of polymer clay. The finished earrings measure approximately 40mm from the top of the sterling silver earwire to the bottom of the earring and are glazed to a water-resistant finish - fine to wear in the rain, but not in the shower though :)

You will receive exactly the pair pictured.

All of my chiyogami pendants and earrings are handmade from start to finish and no pre-cut pieces or tiles are used. The paper and polymer clay is individually cut and the wire bail is also hand-formed, making each piece truly unique (^_^)

Originating in the Edo period in Japan, the intricate designs were painstakingly created with woodblock stamps; today silkscreens are used on kozo-blend paper that is extremely resilient.

This little taiko, or Japanese drum, is modeled after the nagado taiko, or the long-bodied drum.

The taiko is hand-crafted of polymer clay and the "tacks" on the drum's heads have been carefully dabbed on with paint. The taiko is then varnished to a glossy sheen.

The drum alone measures approximately 1 cm in length. Accompanying the taiko on the charm lanyard is a little bell, for a bit of jingle. Great on your cell phone, also perfect for your digital camera, ipod, mp3 player or keychain :)

700 kilometres west of Tokyo is Okayama, a city famous for many beautiful sites, but also for its delicious muscat grapes and its giant peaches.

These earrings are a juicy combo of a mossy muscat freshwater pearl, a peachy pink coral round, and a bright blue turquoise stone for the sunny skies that watch over these incredible fruit... The findings are all Balinese sterling silver, featuring a swirly ornate cap - gorgeous!

The orizuru, or folded paper crane, symbolizes peace, longevity and fidelity in Japanese culture. Giving one to someone as a gift is a wish for them to have a healthy and harmonious life - the perfect little gift for any and all occasions!

Each crane is carefully folded from a sheet of beautiful Japanese paper and is strung on gold thread, ready for hanging anywhere: in a doorway, from your rearview mirror or desk lamp, or in a window. It's tucked inside a folded card, also made with Japanese paper, in which you can write your message. Tuck the crane back inside the card, and it all fits neatly inside the accompanying white envelope (4 3/8" x 5 3/4").

When helping the recipient open up the crane, pull down gently on its wings, close to the body, and it'll puff up, as in picture 4.

Lots of colours available, patterns and solids. May not have exactly the paper designs shown, but please ask, and I will do my best to send you what you're wishing for... A jizo* is thinking positive thoughts, leaving a trail of blooming happiness... *In Japan, a jizo is most well-known as a guardian of children, and a protector of women and travellers.

Jizo may comfort anyone dealing with sadness or the loss of someone dear. A little jizo statue that my husband gave to me when my mom passed away is the inspiration for this card :)

The images on this stamp are my hand-carved stamps. The sakura blossoms are heat-set in pink ink, and the jizo is heat-embossed in a blue and silver mix for added texture.

This crisp white card measures 4.25" x 5.5" and comes with a matching white envelope, sealed in a cellophane sleeve.

This card hopes to bring a smile to someone who is going through a tough time of any sort :)

Two sakura blossoms surrounded by fresh green leaves...

The delicate images here have been created with my own hand-carved stamps, then heat embossed to a pearly sheen. This 4.25" x 5.5" card is on crisp white card stock and comes with a white envelope, sealed in a cellophane sleeve.

There will be slight differences in each card as they are individually made (some have 5 leaves while others have 6 depending on the angle of the two sakura, which may vary a little), but please rest assured that each is made with the utmost care and attention to composition :)
