Red Heart Pot-Holder - PDF format pattern

$1.00
This is a very easy lace pattern for someone who wants to learn how to do lace.

It's inexpensive to make - a ball of Lily "Sugar 'N Cream", which you can pick up for a couple of dollars, will make 4 pot-holders. The pot-holder is not only pretty, it's also practical - the 100% cotton yarn is very absorbent and reasonably thick. You might also want to use it for a coaster.

To receive the pattern, please send me an email address so I can send you the file in pdf format. Obviously, email shipping is free.

Pattern - Blue Diamonds Scarf - PDF Format Pattern

$3.00
I love Kid Mohair/Silk lace blends - they are so light, airy, yet warm. They feel soft as a kitten and give lovely lace effects. You can knit them up in garter stitch or stockinette, and the lace will still be beautiful.

This design is a simple lace pattern of diamonds. The sample shown is in Royal Blue, a color that looks lovely on blue-eyed blonds. However, the lace yarn I used, Madil Kid Seta, comes in a large variety of colors, so pick your favorite. And if you can't find a color you like in that brand, you can substitute Rowan Kidsilk Haze or Douceur et Soie.

The tricky thing about the pattern is working with the yarn - it's slippery, fine, and hates to be undone. This is one reason for keeping the pattern fairly simple if this is the first time you are working with this yarn!

If you are daunted by this, you can substitute a less quirky yarn. For example, Crystal Palace Kid Merino would work well with this pattern, and it comes in some terrific colors. Plus it's less expensive! You could also use a merino lace or fingering weight yarn - I give hints on how to substitute these in the pattern instructions.

The scarf itself is about 8"x60" and uses 1 1/2 balls (350 yards) of the Kid Seta. If you decide to use a fingering weight yarn, you will need about 430 yards.

When you order this pattern, please provide your email address so I can send you the pattern. It is an Adobe Acrobat file. I can also mail you a pattern, however, in that case I will charge a fee of $5 for processing.

Feel free to contact me for any support or help if you buy the pattern. I am always happy to help another lace-aholic!
