This quite unusual necklace--probably not for the faint of heart--is created from a 1975 Metzke pewter liquor tag, from which hangs a large and wonderful smoke green chandelier crystal. The chains are composed of both watch fob and vintage silvertone chains.

The Scotch tag is 2 and 1/4 inches wide and the total drop length of the tag and crystal is 4 inches. The chains total a length of 20 inches.

This bracelet brings back a bit of nostalgia for hobbies of years past...

The focal point of this unique bracelet is a 1935 member pin in the shape of a stamp (the back of the pin has been removed) from "Captain Tim’s Ivory Stamp Club."* Completing the design are vintage coins from Canada, Portugal, Australia and Holland, and thrown in for a little Southern appeal—an old luxury tax token from Alabama.

*In the mid-1930s, when Franklin D. Roosevelt was president, Proctor and Gamble took to the radio airwaves on the National Broadcasting Company with their incredibly successful Ivory Soap Stamp Club of the Air. Captain Tim Healy, a bona fide real-life world traveler and explorer, hosted the show which offered kids the opportunity to send in an Ivory soap wrapper to receive a free stamp album and stamps to fill it. The success of this program was greatly due to the famous stamp collector in the White House. Not only did hundreds of thousands of youngsters become interested in philately during his 12 years in office, the hobby enjoyed a surge of popularity among all age groups that has to this day never been matched.

The bracelet measures 7 and ½ inches long and closes with a toggle clasp.

These unique earrings are created from United Railways of St. Louis tokens from 1920! Even the backs are cool--stamped "Receiver."(see the last photo). For interest and dangle, I have threaded antique watch fob chains topped off by 8mm almond colored Swarovski crystal pearls. Antique brass hoop style earwires.

The tokens measure 3/4 inch in diameter and the total length of the earrings is 2 and 1/2 inches, including the wires.

I couldn’t resist that title since these earrings always remind me of the New Orleans Saints! I have been a fan forever (even during the dreaded “paper bags over the head” seasons!)

These funky earrings are created from quite rare National Distillers brass liquor tags, which were used during the 1930s and 40s to number whiskey barrels. I found these old tags in the wonderful state of Tennessee and surmised that they may have likely been used at the famous Jack Daniels Distillery. Antique brass fleur de lis charms float across the tags and antique brass Swarovski crystal pearls dangle below.

The tags are lightweight (perfect for earrings) and measure 5/8 inch wide by 1 and 1/4 inch long. The antique brass kidney wires are 1 inch long, making the total drop of the earrings about 2 and ½ inches.

Her tiny frayed purse was empty, but her faith would see her through...

This one of a kind necklace is quite extraordinary. The focal point is a tiny antique Victorian (circa 1880s) woven and gilt metal framed chatelaine coin bag/purse. There is a slight hole in one corner which is barely noticeable, and the clasp works perfectly. I have added an antique fleur de lis watch fob pin to the front of the bag.

An ornate antique brass filagree serves as a connector to "beads" created from British Bread (i.e., food) ration tokens from WWII. The tokens are of a reddish hue, which complement perfectly the tiny purse. The antique gold linked engraved chain is also quite lovely. Large lobster claw clasp for easy closure.

Measurements:

The purse is 1 and 3/8 inches (3.5 cm) wide by 1 and 1/2 inches (4 cm) long.

The ration tokens are 7/8 x 1 and 1/8 inch.

The length of the drop(filagree and purse) is about 3 inches.

The total length of the necklace is 20 inches.

This is a simply lovely piece for a special someone.

This unique necklace is created from a vintage to antique brass (rose gold hue) buckle bearing the wonderfully detailed engraved letters "EPC" (I think). However, hung vertically, the letters are transformed into interesting shapes and forms.

Beneath the buckle hangs a vintage cream colored button to which is attached a watch movement of the loveliest rose gold color, with tiny gears intact. A greenish turquoise cabochon sits atop the watch movment. Hanging below is a tiny silver link and a rose gold watch fob chain.

Hangs from a vintage silvertone rope type chain.

Measurements:

The buckle is 1 and 1/8 inch wide by 1 and 3/4 inches long.
The entire drop length is 4 and 1/4 inches.

The necklace length is 18 inches but could be adjusted.

I love this bracelet! (The two clear chandelier crystals remind me of pointy bosoms!) A 1964 Texas DAV license tag and a wonderful pewter cowboy serve as the perfect charms. The cowboy charm is intricately detailed on both front and back. A vintage stainless Speidel watch band forms the perfect accompanyment. Twisted Sterling Silver wire connects the crystals together and to the band.

NOTE: This bracelet is not intended for a small wrist, but rather a medium to large sized wrist, as the inside dimensions of the band measure about 2 and 3/4 inches.

Here's a little history lesson for you!

Many states initiated a tax on merchandise sold to raise money. Today, all states with a sales tax use a bracket system to charge tax in even cents, and forgo collecting tax on small purchases. In the 1930s when sales taxes were first instituted, these tokens were issued to facilitate taxing even a one-cent purchase. The denomination of a tax token was often as small as one mill or one-tenth cent. An interesting fact is that Kansas was the first state to suspend the token usage in July 1939.

These OOAK earrings are created from quite hard to come by Kansas Sales Tax Tokens--these appear to be made from zinc--not the usual and more common aluminum tokens. To add a bit of bling to the tokens, I have added tiny flat backed Swarovski crystals, and 8 mm jet Swarovski crystal pearls form the drop. Steel grey Niobium* wires.

The tokens measure about 5/8 inch (1.5 cm) in diameter.

*Due to the limited quantities geologists have located in the Earth's crust, this beautiful metal has a value many times higher than silver. Because Niobium is inert, it is stable and does not cause a metal reaction when worn as jewelry. This is the least likely metal to cause an allergy reaction, so if you haven't been able to wear earrings or other jewelry, good news. I'll bet you can wear jewelry made of Niobium!

Hangs from sections of a heavy antique watch fob chain and goldtone vintage chains totaling 30 inches long. A beautiful antique brass-tipped button adds interest on one side.

This necklace is substantial but not weighty--it feels really good on.

The filagree measures about 1 and 1/2 inches in diameter and the total length of the pendant (to the bottom of the key) is almost 4 inches.

These kitschy earrings are created from repurposed Scrabble tiles which have been dyed with a silver moss colored pearlescent permanent ink. Collaged under resin are tiny original photographs of a wonderful retro car wash sign I took in the border town of Douglas, Arizona. Poor, long-suffering Sue Ellen Ewing. She never seemed to be able to truly leave that dastardly J.R. (And, if she did, she most likely would not have taken a bus!)

Anyway, these old Dallas, Texas, transit tokens--first used in 1936--reminded me of the TV show, and hence Sue Ellen. The tokens are topped by antique brass dragonflies, with Swarvoski crystal sand opal bicones hanging below. Hang from one inch antique brass kidney wires. The tokens measure about 5/8 inch in diameter and the length of the earrings, excluding the wires, is slightly over 1 inch.

This truly unique necklace was created from a wonderful Household of Ruth* badge section from the late 1800s. Hanging below is a brass "This is Your Life" locket from the 1950s television show. The locket opens and closes perfectly. Various antique watch fob chains hang below. Two watch gears form the link to additional antique watch fob chains which form the necklace's chain.

The chain is 16 inches long. The Household of Ruth badge is 2 and 1/4 inch wide and the total length of the drop including the chains, is about 5 inches.

Anyway, these super cute earrings are created from dark vintage keys and some wonderful zipper pulls that I found in a market in Mexico (and now wish that I had gotten more of them!). I love their industrial look, but decided to soften them a bit with a touch of turqouise.

The keys and pulls are very lightweight so the earrings are not heavy at all. Antique brass hoop style ear wires. They dangle about 2 and 1/2 inches in length.

This quote has absolutely nothing to with this bracelet--I just like it a lot! (I also like this bracelet a lot so maybe there's the connection in my reality.)

This OOAK bracelet is created from five vintage to antique ladies watch cases. One of the cases is marked 10K gold filled and the others are not marked. The crystals have escaped to the "Land of Roving Watch Crystals and Other Small Objects" and the cases now hold other old various bits and baubles of unknown origin. I believe a couple of the items may have been cuff links in a previous life. My favorite is the monkey robot looking creature in the end case!
