A serene and lovely vintage print is the center highlight of the brooch. This print of a mother and son came from the cover of a 1920's Sunday School handout. I have made a copy, sealed and protected it and then it has been encased in a bead embroidered bezel of Japanese seed beads. The beads are in colors complimentary to the print and include cranberry red, bronze, lavender and gold lined iridescent light purple.

The edge has been trimmed with a picot edging of matte iridescent seed beads and Czech fire-polished beads that are light purple and gold.

What a unique gift this brooch would make for Mother's Day!

The back is finished with a faux leather fabric. Brooch measures 2 5/8" by 3 1/8".

A beautiful Victorian inspired bead embroidery brooch. The center of this brooch is a copy of a Victorian Valentine from the late 1800's that has been sealed and protected. It has been encased in a peyote woven bezel of Delica seed beads in peach and gold lined light olive. At the corners of brooch have been embroidered the palest of pinks freshwater pearls. All of have been surrounded with several rows of light and darker olive Delica seed beads with a scattering of peach beads at the corners.

The brooch is finished with a sparkling roped border of additional peach Delica seed beads. Back is finished with a faux leather fabric.

Brooch measures 3" long by 2 3/4" wide.

The color of the stone cabochons in these earrings is hard to describe. It is an earthy lavender or even mauve with slight inclusions of brown. I have set the cabochons in a beaded bezel of Delica seed beads to compliment their colors. I have added a lacy picot edging to complete the earrings. The back is finished with a black faux embossed leather felt.

Cabochons are 1 3/8" long by 7/8" wide. Sterling silver ear wires.

What a whimsical expression on this polymer clay moon face. I crafted the face from polymer clay and accented it with an iridescent gold finish. I then set the piece in a peyote woven bezel of Japanese seeds beads and embellished with additional seed beads and freshwater cultured pearls. Back is finished with a embossed faux leather fabric.

I have always loved anything victorian and antique collecting was one of my past passions. This lovely brooch has allowed me to combine my passion for bead embroidery along with my love of anything old.

Embodying the spirit of Dealan-de, I have given new life to a Victorian sepia photograph of a long forgotten bride by using her as the focal point of this brooch. She is accented with a vintage cut metal button and then many rows of Japanese seed beads in varying shades of bronze and brown.

The design is simple but the effect is stunning....actually I could see a Victorian bride wearing this brooch on her wedding day.

Back of brooch is finished with a faux tooled leather. Brooch measures 3 1/4" long and 2 1/2" wide.

Sodalite Cabochon Pendant with Bead Embroidery Bezel on a Kumihimo Cord Necklace

This unique necklace features a center pendant of a Sodalite cabochon. The Sodalite is a pretty bright blue with large inclusions of creamy yellow. I have set the cab in a peyote woven bezel of Japanese seed beads in colors complimenting the stone. Surrounding the bezel are bright blue glass beads and trimming the edge are blue and cream stone beads. I have strung the pendant on a soft rayon necklace cord that was hand braided in the ancient Japanese technique of Kumihimo. The end caps are sterling silver and necklace closes with a sterling silver lobster clasp and extender chain. Back is finished with faux embossed leather felt.

Necklace measures 19" long and pendant is 2 1/2" long by 1 3/4" wide. Due to it's design, the length of the necklace can not be adjusted.

This beautiful necklace in soothing neutral colors evokes a feeling of the great Southwest. A designer cut pink Peruvian Opal cabochon is the center piece of this pendant. The cab has been set in a peyote woven bezel of Delica seed beads in complimentary colors of salmon and sand. Additional rows of seed beads have been embroidered around the cab and to complete the western feel, a lone star antiqued bronze metal button tops the pendant.

This wise old owl is actually an antiqued silver metal button that is part of this stunning bead embroidery pendant. The owl button sits atop a labradorite cabochon and both have been woven with peyote bezels and embroidered with rows of seed beads and fire-polished Czech glass beads. The beads are in colors of gun-metal, smokey gray and iridescent hues of blue, aqua, gray and taupe that compliment the beautiful flashes of color that are laced in the cabochon.

The back of the pendant is finished with a black faux tooled leather fabric. It is strung on a 4mm high quality black bolo leather cord. Ends of cord are finished with sterling silver end caps, lobster clasp and extender chain. Pendant measures 2 3/4" long by 1 1/2" wide. Earthy greens and browns of the forest and white and gray of puffy clouds...these are the colors that give this designer cut cabochon the look of the woodlands. I believe this stone is some type of jasper and I have surrounded it with 15/0 dark ivy, 8/0 brown iris and 11/0 Delica taupe seed beads. Sitting atop the cabochon is an oval Czech glass button that has the look of a vintage metal button. It has been set in a peyote woven bezel of same seed beads. Surrounded this montage of beads and stones is a row of sage green freshwater pearls. Edge of pendant is finished with a picot edging of the dark ivy seed beads. Back of pendant is finished with a brown faux tooled leather fabric.

A moss agate cabochon is the highlight of this bead woven pendant necklace. Moss agate gets it's name from the lacy green inclusions throughout the stone that give the impression of moss tendrils. This beautiful cabochon has hues of dark green and grays.

I have woven the cabochon in a bezel of complimentary Japanese seed beads in colors of teal green and pewter and a row of Czech fire-polished glass beads in pewter gray.

The necklace is strung on a high quality 4mm black leather bolo cord. Ends are finished with Bali style sterling silver cords ends and sterling silver spring clasp and extender chain. Back of pendant is finished with a black faux leather fabric.

The Elizabethan - First Ladies of Style EBW August Challenge

"The reign of Queen Elizabeth I would be accentuated by the display of style that she herself embodied. She would become the namesake and emblem of the Elizabethan era, her long reign as regent allowing for great cultural achievements as well as political change in England."

The Virgin Queen...Bess, the woman who brought style and elegance to the Royal Court...it is in her honor, one of the "First Ladies of Style", that I have named my entry for this month's Etsy Beadweavers monthly challenge.

This beautiful piece has been created in royal colors of gold and ruby red. The "heart" of the necklace is a heart-shaped Czech glass button in the color of antique gold embedded with crystal and ruby red rhinestones. I have set the button in a peyote handwoven bezel of gold and red Delica seed beads and trimmed with a picot edging.

Accenting the centerpiece are three 14mm stunning Swarovski rivoli's. The fire in these stones is gorgeous and photographs do them no justice. They are also set in peyote hand woven bezels.

The rivoli's are connected to the necklace strap with peyote woven bails. The necklace strap features ruby red Swarovski crystals, brass bi-cone beads and fire-polished Czech glass beads in a dark antique gold color.

Necklace closes with a gold-filled toggle clasp. Necklace measures approximately 18" long and pendant drops 2 1/4".

It's almost here...my favorite time of the year...FALL!! And this stunning necklace reflects the colors of the season...rich tones of copper accented with forest green and saddle brown leather. The highlight of the necklace is a large moss agate cabochon that is a gorgeous green color that just couldn't be captured in my photos. I have set the cab in a peyote woven bezel of Japanese Delica seed beads in coral, copper, green and light peach.

The edge of cabochon has been trimmed with a fringe of additional seed beads, faceted copper plated pewter beads and chips of green aventurine. It attaches to the necklace cord with a peyote woven bezel.

The necklace strap is a high-quality saddle brown 4mm bolo leather cord. The ends have been finished with sterling silver end caps and toggle clasp. The back of cabochon is finished with dark brown faux leather fabric.

The Edwardian Necklace - Time Machine April EBW Challenge

I have set the dial on my Time Machine and traveled to the Edwardian period of history. "The Gilded Age" of which the likes we will never see again. A time when women were breaking free of the bondages imposed by the Victorian era and the dream of equality was beginning to take shape. Czar Nicholas and his family met their tragic end, Titantic was the ship of dreams and H. G. Wells wrote books of fantastic machines that would transport you to another time and place.

The Edwardian necklace is my interpretation of the EBW street team's April challenge of "Time Machine". Embodying the opulence of the period, this necklace features a pendant of a brass clock face that has been encased in rows and curves of bead embroidery. An elegant brass stamping along with two teardrop cabochons of green aventurine and a round cabochon of brecciated jasper complete the pendant.

The pendant is hung a chain of antiqued brass plated metal. I have created right angle woven beaded beads in colors complimentary to the pendant and they accent the chain. The necklace closes with an antiqued brass lobster clasp and extender chain.

Pendant measures 3 3/4" long and 2" wide. Back is finished with faux leather fabric. Necklace measures approximately 24" long. The length of this piece can be adjusted upon request at no additional charge.

Exotic Bead Embroidery Ocean Jasper Cabochon Pendant Necklace

When I begin a bead embroidery project, I never know what the final outcome will be as the stones and beads lead me into the finished design.

The center piece is a beautiful designer cut Ocean Jasper cabochon. The colors in this cab are soft and restful shades of green, cream and gray. I have accented the cab with two smaller stone cabochons and a few bronze freshwater seed pearls. These have all been surrounded in complimentary layers of seed and glass beads. Surrounding the cabochon are rows of cream Japanese seed beads and they are encased in a row of green and brown flecked Czech fire-polished beads. The final rows are Delica seed beads in iridescent green and bronze. The back is finished with a faux tooled leather.

With such a stunning pendant, I have only added as a necklace strap an antiqued gold metal chain. Added to the chain are glass and metal beads. The chain, jump rings and metal beads have been textured to give a more vintage look. Closure is a lobster clasp and extender chain.

Pendant measures 2 3/4" long by 1 1/4" wide. Necklace measures approximately 18" with a 2" extender chain.

Bead Embroidery Dragonfly Pendant on Kumihimo Cord

I have really come to love the art of bead embroidery and this stunning piece is one of my favorite creations. A polymer clay disc featuring the impression of a dragonfly is the centerpiece of this pendant. The disc has been finished with colors of gold and rust. It has been set in a peyote woven bezel of rose gold and rust seed beads.

More layers of beads have been adding including bronze Czech fire-polished beads. Accenting the dragonfly is a antique gold Victorian metal button and a small cabochon of autumn jasper. All of this has been embroidered on a base of tan ultra suede and pendant is edged with a picot stitch of more rust seed beads. The back is finished with a tooled faux leather.

The pendant is strung on a handbraided Kumihimo necklace cord. I created this cord out of soft cotton thread in colors complimentary to the pendant. Cord ends are finished with sterling silver end caps and necklace closes with sterling silver lobster clasp and extender chain.

A one of a kind piece of wearable art.

Necklace cord measures 17" and extender chain adds an additional 2". Pendant measures 3 1/4" long by 2" wide.

Dramatic Ruby Zoisite Pendant Necklace

A large freeform Ruby Zoisite cabochon has been set in a hand beaded bezel of iridescent green and ruby red seed beads. The pendant is edged with tiny red Czech fire-polished beads and a lush fringe of more seed beads and chips of green aventurine.

The pendant is strung on a necklace comprised of round green aventurine beads, rectangles of ruby zoisite, large discs of lava rock, red Czech fire-polished beads and sterling silver spacers.

The necklace closes with a heavy sterling silver hook and eye clasp. This beauty measures approximately 23" long. The pendant measures 2" wide by 4" long.

These earrings feature beautiful cabochons of medium blue lapis lazuli also known as "denim lapis." The cabs have been set in a handwoven bezel of periwinkle blue and silver Japanese seeds beads. The picot edging along the stones of the earrings give the impression of twinkling stars.

Fabulous Art Deco Inspired Pendant Necklace

Words are hard to describe this stunning creation. I love the Art Deco era of history and when I ran across this Czech porcelain button that featured the impression of a gilded moth, I fell in love. The button is quite large, measuring 2" across, and is a lovely delft blue washed in antique gold. It is set in a peyote woven bezel of Japanese seed beads in a pale gold color and is edged with Montana blue 3mm Swarovski crystals. Adding to the beauty is a sparkling 18mm Swarovski Rivoli that has also been encased with peyote weaving and double edging of picot trim.

The pendant is hung on a Vintaj natural antiqued brass chain with accents of Deco inspired brass connectors and fire-polished Czech beads that have the iridescent finish of bronze and blue.

Necklace measures approximately 18" long and closes with a brass lobster clasp and 2" extender chain. Pendant drops 2 3/4".

Coppery Art Deco Inspired Glass Button Pendant Necklace

Another beautiful Czech glass button with the impression of an Art Deco inspired moth. This button is a rich coppery gold color and I have surrounded it with a peyote woven bezel of copper Delica seed beads and additional bronze and light peach seed beads. The edge of the button has been trimmed with faceted copper plated nickel beads that sparkle when hit by the light.

The finishing touch to this beauty is an 18mm copper Swarvoski rivoli. This faceted stone has incredible depth and fire that the camera lens never seems to capture. It is also set in a peyote woven bezel of the same seed bead combination as the moth button.

The bail of the pendant is peyote woven with the copper Delicas. It is strung on a high quality bronze leather bolo cord. The centerpiece of this elegant little brooch is a new Czech glass button in shades of blue with green and gold accents. This fun and unique brooch features as it's focal point a whimsical lady's face made of polymer clay. This face was created by a polymer clay artist who simply goes by the name of Linsart. Her faces carry incredible expressions and I especially loved this one's cool and mystical attitude.

Adding to her mystic is a Swarovski crystal butterfly that hovers on her forehead. I have set this lady in a Japanese seed bead peyote woven bezel and surrounded her with additional rounds of complimentary seed beads. The edge of the brooch is trimmed with a picot edging of blue bi-cone Swarvoski crystals.

Completing the piece is a fringe of blue round Swarvoski crystals and more crystal butterflies. The back of the brooch is finished with a faux embossed leather fabric. Measurements are 3 1/2" long by 2 3/4" wide.
