Kooshi, Tea Kettle Character, A Small Friend for Kitchen or Garden

$28.00
This is Kooshi, a little friend to make you smile whenever you see her. She stands roughly 10" (25.4cm) tall, and is sturdy enough to go right into the garden, live on your porch, or pretty up a shelf anywhere.

I create my little characters from recycled/found objects. Kooshi's hair is very touchable and soft, since I used a Koosh ball to form her coiffure. Her head is a small teapot, and her body is a tall coffee mug. Her face is handpainted by the artist. (That would be me!)

I pack carefully, so what I put in the mail is what you lift from the box, and I'm happy to combine shipping on multiple items!

These Christmas cards feature some of my favorite Coffee Pot People and Tea Kettle Characters in holiday scenes of the past and present, and never fail to bring chuckles.

All the characters on my cards are images of garden sculptures I've created. They live in many states, and several countries, and I occasionally hear from their garden keepers and housemates. As their "Mama", I must say they all live in my heart, so I love playing with their photographs!

The photos used are standard 4X6's ((10.2cm X 15.2cm). The cards are 5 1/4" X 7".
Hugs and Kisses in Black and Blue, Unisex Cuff Bracelet

$12.00
I call these cuffs "Hugs and Kisses" because of the X's of the wire and the O's of the grommets, but I gotta say, typing up a description of black and blue hugs and kisses feels a little...uh...macabre.

Maybe that just makes this a good bracelet for Halloween, or maybe it's the perfect gift for your co-dependent BFF, or maybe it just goes really well with denim and black leather. I'll let you decide. I just think it looks really cool.

The cuff is made from a recycled belt and blue electrical wire from a computer's innards, plus a bit of chain and a lobster clasp to hold it on the wrist. It will fit from a smallish woman's wrist (6") to a fair-sized man's (8").

I'm happy to combine shipping when you order more than one item.

PS If you'd rather have a different color combo, just convo me--there are lots of choices available.

Boo-tiful Smile--Tea Kettle Character

Don't know what's made him so cheery, but it's opened his eyes right up, too, and gives him a look that's certain not to frighten anyone at all.

Most of my art is assembled from recycled or found materials. This ceramic jack-o-lantern is made from a big soup mug, a smallish tea pot, and a little bowl that happened to be prettier upside down that it was right-side up. His face is hand painted, with a clear protective coating.

I'm happy to ship internationally! Tell me where you are, and we'll figure the shipping to your exact spot on the globe.

I think it might be over in the Beaverton area...maybe one of the four other Tea Kettle Characters chatting over against the wall will tell me. At any rate, Lou has his bare feet ready, but his sensible side has prompted him to keep his hat on. Come to think of it, that's very much Lou's style--shoes off, hat on--fountain or not.

The card is cream-colored card stock, with a matching envelope. The photo is affixed to the front. I title and sign each card in the margin under the photograph, in pencil. If you'd rather not have the signature, let me know, and I'll leave it off!

Each card is sent in a protective plastic sleeve, and carefully packaged to ensure it reaches you in the same condition it left here in.

I'm happy to combine shipping when you order more than one of my items!

BOB GOES TO THE SEA LION CAVES Photo Note Card and Envelope

$3.00
Sixth in the series "Coffee Pot People 'On Vacation'"

Up until recently, the Coffee Pot People and Tea Kettle Characters have pretty much been home bodies, content to linger in the garden or kitchen, making people smile. A few weeks ago, however, at least a dozen of them decided to go traveling, and they've each returned with photographic "proof" of the great times they've had.

On this card you see Bob, standing at a natural window in the Sea Lion Caves on the Oregon Coast, with the Hecata Head lighthouse in the background. To get to where Bob is, you take a rickety board walk along the side of a cliff, ride an ancient elevator w-a-a-a-y down, and step into caves that are, paradoxically, deep within the earth, but windowed by wide horizontal tunnels. Bob has found this excursion both fascinating and a little unnerving. And noisy. Sea lions lounging on boulders in a rock-walled cave are LOUD when they vocalize.

The card is heavy ecru card stock, with Bob's photo affixed to the front. The inside is blank.

When I bring these cards to shows, I title and sign them lightly in pencil, in the border on the front of the card. If you'd prefer your note card unsigned, just let me know.

Each card is mailed in a protective plastic sleeve, and carefully packaged.

I'm more than happy to combine shipping on multiple items!

See, Orin still remembers when he was a boy, walked hand-in-hand with his Mom, and gathered fistfuls of dandelions for her. He sees no sense or benefit in the idea that growing up has to mean divorcing his feminine side. He knows who he is, and a few flowers are probably part of his (very masculine) personality.

He's assembled from a recycled ceramic coffee pot, dish, mug, jeans-shaped planter. His face and hat are hand-painted.

Also available: A photo note card showing Orin on one of his daily walks. Order Orin and the card together, and get free shipping on the card! (I'll adjust your total for you, so convo me before paying.)

I'm happy to combine shipping when you order more than one thing at a time!

If you'd like to have him, just convo me, and I'll create the listing.)

Orin discovered the wonderful boardwalk in this photo on one of his daily hikes. I caught him in a contemplative moment, pondering the twists and turns of his own life, wondering where his path would take him next. He stands about 33 inches tall, and is about 10 inches wide. His head will hold a potted plant, or your drink, or a candle, or....

King Ah's bio (below) comes with him, on a laminated tag.

King Ahwahnahwhoopi immigrated to Troutdale from the Tuamtuarch Islands in the South Pacific. He didn’t have a very clear idea of the Northwest’s climate or customs, but he’d checked it out on the globe in his daughter’s schoolroom, and the place names looked easy to spell. Portland, Canby, Boring, Dundee—all so nice an short. Such sensible names!

So he packed up his family, and sold the kingly quarters, which he will assure you weren’t as luxurious as that sounds, and moved them all to Oregon, state of bliss and ease of spelling.

If his daughter’s globe had been an atlas, or even a more detailed folding map, King Ah (for short) would have seen names like Tualatin, Puyallup, Umpqua, Suislaw and Wahkiakum before they moved, but he’s here, and he’s just focusing on everything new and wonderful, and avoiding maps and gazetteers altogether.

*~*~*~*~*~*
Coffee Pot People is a trademarked name. All bios are copyrighted by the author.
*~*~*~*~*~*
Shipping is land Fed/EX and is $3, up to 100 pounds.

Her windblown look is habitual--she's a highway flagger by profession, and her hair hasn't looked any more "kempt" in ages. She just slaps a hat on, says, "Whatever", and goes where she wants to go. It started raining moments after this photo was shot, so where she wanted to go at that point was back to the RV at the campground! Picture her half an hour later, with coffee and cookies, nose in a book, rain making a delightful clatter on the roof, cozy as a curled-up kitten.

The card itself is cream-colored card stock, with a matching envelope.
