These beautiful red beads are made from the semi-precious gemstone carnelian. Carnelian is believed by some to encourage friendship and cheerfulness and to protect the wearer from evil. It is one of the stones for the month of August.

This beautifully soft braid of tops has been hand painted by me in different shades of pink, ranging from quite pale to vivid. This shade reminds me of every little girl's favourite doll, so I have named it for her.

The fineness of Falkland wool ranges from 18/19microns to 32/33microns with the bulk of the wool being in the 27-30microns category. The length is 80-100mm with the fleece showing good bulkiness and soft handle.
