Bananastrudel...what could be more delicious?

My Etsy friend, Bananastrudel - commissioned me to make a pair of earrings for her, and I since then loved the design so much that with her permission, I decided to make them again.

This antiqued brass version is so pretty and down to earth. A brass ball sits beneath many different sized rings - the rings float and move together like a school of fish.
They hang on long, antiqued brass ear wires for a clean and simple look.

Its un-structured design is so beautiful and definitely taught me to loosen up a bit.

Reclaimed beach stones and sea glass have been smoothed and aged by sand, pebbles and tide. They're recycled and eco friendly like the son of a biscuit eater!

Ne'er walk the plank with this large black beach stone, adorned with a gorgeous antiqued silver skull and crossbones.

Aye, this booty has unique entry holes along the top of the skull, where I've attached two industrial stainless steel jump rings.

I love all heart-ish things. Even these frosted ones.

You'll warm up to these, as they adorn lovely light aqua blue sea glass gems. I reclaimed these beauties from my local beach this past summer.

Sea glass usually comes from old vintage glass medicine jars and spirit bottles tossed overboard by fishermen decades ago.
Natural sea glass can only be weathered by time, sand and tide - man's folly turned into nature's beauty.

These gems are thick and frosted, with just a hint of aqua blue. I've top drilled them and added silver plated sparkly hearts and spiraling bails.

Silver plated shepherd's hooks finish the design for an uber charming set of earrings.

These earrings are my personal exercise in taking the plunge.

I'm the type that has to be orderly, symmetrical, everything in it's place.
If my dining chairs don't perfectly line up across from each other, I start to get heart palpitations...

These earrings are just the opposite - free flowing, disorderly, chaotic even.

Frosty weathered sea glass gems were beach combed off Canada's beautiful shores this past spring, and find their home amidst stacks of silver plated jumprings, which sit atop of each other at their will.

What could be more lovely than an unexpected found treasure?

This vintage inspired design centers a beautiful piece of genuine sea glass - I reclaimed it from my local beach this past summer. Its frosted patina and rounded edges tell tale of another life long ago. Perhaps from an apothecary jar or a ghostly spirit bottle.

I like to think of it in a more loving way. As one can't do without the other, connected - yes, but working together in harmony.
