Left over from some long ago project, is this set of vintage handmade buttons depicting the the animals of Noah's Ark. There are six ceramic buttons in all: Zebra, Giraffe, Elephant, Camel & Bird (Swan?). For quilting, clothing embellishment or your next creative venture...these will add great dimensional interest to your project!

This set is from Creative Uniques, Inc. Handmade in 1988, the original price was $10.50. The buttons range in size from .75" to 1.5" tall. These buttons have never been used and are in excellent vintage condition.

This Folk Art Santa Doll is sewn from heavy osnaburg, then painted, stained and aged to perfection. His "fur" trimmed coat is creamy osnaburg and ties at the waist with a length of jute. He has a grubby beeswax candle and a sprig of sweet annie tucked in his waistband. His matching cap is fastened with a length of jute and finished with a rusty bell at the tip. Santa's beard is made of sheep's wool. His features and pinched nose have been crudely stitched for that early look we primitive lovers adore. He is 15.5” tall from the tip of his hat to his toes. He comes with a loop of heavy thread on back for hanging. He can also sit or stand (with a bit of help).

Sewn from aged wool in a deep red, this make-do pinkeep will add old fashion charm to your Holiday decor. This star pinkeep is mounted on a distressed wood base, and each point is accented with a vintage glass ornament. The "face" has tiny glass beads for eyes and is finished with hand stitching in black floss. You will receive everything pictured, including an assortment of pins and the little attached goodie bag (Pins include one handmade brass pin from the civil war era, and a large vintage hat pin). The pinkeep is about 12.5" high and 11.5" across at the widest point.

I made one of these for myself years ago, and it remains one of my favorite Christmas decorations. These simple wool stars are wonderful hanging on a cabinet, from a peg, or as a tree topper for a small primitive Christmas Tree. They also look great grouped with other primitive fillers in an old wooden bowl or basket.

Each golden brown, wool star was stitched by hand with the words "Christmas 1872" in country red floss. The edges are blanket stitched for that old fashion look. Stars are stuffed with clean, new wool, and could also serve as a pin cushion in your holiday sewing basket or arrangement.

Each star measures about 7.5" tall X 6.5" across, and has a loop for hanging. You are purchasing ONE wool star.

Because they are handmade, without a pattern, each star is slightly different. Please allow us to choose one for you.

Naomi's pinkeep is made from cotton patchwork in pale blues and aged muslin. "She" has worked her initials on the front in case it should fall from her workbasket. Her pinkeep is blanket stitched all around with brown floss, and adorned with an old bone button. Naomi has stitched the date on the back and included a few of her favorite pins.

Naomi's pincushion measures 4"x4" and is firmly stuffed with clean wool to keep your pins sharp and rust free. Any stain or wear is intentional and is meant to give this item an early look.

Vintage Christmas Postcard, Dated 1914

This lovely little postcard to Arthur from Uncle Charlie features a wreath of holly on the front and is embellished with a velvet leaf. The simple greeting on the back is penned by hand using an old fashion dip pen-the kind you dip & blot.

The card is dated Dec 15, 1914 and was addressed to Arthur Smith of Decatur, IL. There is no postmark or stamp...was it never mailed? It measures 5.5" x 3.5" and is is excellent vintage condition. There are no creases, bends or tears and the colors are still bright. I do notice a few small age spots on the front of the card- please see the photos for detail.

Whether hanging from a cupboard or the back of a chair this elbow style basket will add primitive charm to your home. I’ve woven a number of these and have displayed them in my own home filled with drieds like sweet annie, flax or tansy.

This particular basket was handwoven using half inch and quarter inch basket reed and is finished with woven edge. It measures 14.5” across at the widest point and is 20” in height, including the handle. It is decorated with five rows of red and dark blue reed and has been over dyed using walnut hulls to give it an aged look. This basket features a flat pinched “envelope” style bottom.

The sweet annie bundle is for display purposes only and is not included in this sale.

I have slowly put together a set of these over the years, and am passing on books that I have found doubles of. They are becoming increasingly harder to find. These volumes are in excellent condition. The bindings are tight and there are no tears, folds or markings on any of the pages or covers.

Reproduction Chocolate Mold, Two Bunnies, Reproduction Tin

This wonderful reproduction chocolate mold features a sweet little bunny riding on the back of a larger bunny. Made of aged tin, this mold is perfect for shaping wax, chalk ware or papier-mâché figures. It can be used for molding both flat and three dimensional figures. One of the best things about these molds is that they do double duty as a great decor item when you’re not using them! I keep mine on a kitchen cupboard for that authentic primitive look. The bunny with rooster mold is 6" tall, 4.5” wide and about 3” deep. It is made of tin and does have some intentional age spots to give it the appearance of a vintage mold.

Each mold comes with either two or three ring clips (depending on the size of the mold) to hold the sides together. These molds do not have a tight fit and will leak a bit if a seam sealer is not used. The type of sealer needed will depend on what kind of material you are molding. You will also need to use a mold release such as “Pam” cooking oil spray on the inside of the mold before use. Again, this will depend on what material you are molding.

These molds are NOT suitable for chocolate molding or other food use and should be used for craft or decorative purposes ONLY!

This particular basket was handwoven using half inch and quarter inch basket reed, and is finished with hemp cording and a whipped edge. It measures 16” across at the widest point and is 17.5” in height, including the handle. It is decorated with three rows of dark blue reed and has been over dyed using walnut hulls to give it an aged look. This basket features a rounded open bottom instead of the flat pinched “envelope” style of others I have listed.

Primitive Wool Eggs in Vintage Cheesebox

This rustic box is filled with seven hand stitched eggs nestled in a bed of shredded paper "grass". The eggs are stitched in dark primitive cotton and wool fabrics. Eggs are aged, and each one embellished with a different design. This would make a nice addition to your Spring or Easter display, and would work with your Summer garden display as well!

This vintage "Kraft" American cheese box measures 9.25" long, is 3" wide, and stands 2.75" high. Individual eggs are 2.25" x 3.25". You will receive the seven eggs pictured with the box. Try as I might, I cannot seem to get a photo of the "true" colors on this batch of eggs. They do appear somewhat brighter than they actually are.

Some eggs are my own design, others are adapted from designs by the talented ladies at Need'l Love and Folk & Whimsy. All are used with permission.

Mary's pinkeep is made from cotton patchwork in pale blues and aged muslin. "She" has worked the date on the front and stitched her own name on the back. Her pinkeep is blanket stitched all around with brown floss and adorned with an old brown button. Mary has included a few of her favorite pins.

Mary's pincushion measures 4"x4" and is firmly stuffed with clean wool to keep your pins sharp and rust free. Any stain or wear is intentional and is meant to give this item an early look.

Blue Calico Primitive Star Ornament, For You Ornie

This sweet little star is stitched of reproduction blue and tan calico for the early look that we love. I’ve added a patch of aged osnaburg in the star’s center, and embroidered it with the message “For You”. I’ve ruched the ends of a length of vintage seam binding to create a festive hanger for the star, and finished the seams with tiny little X's. Each star comes with an aged, hand lettered tag. I will be happy to personalize one for you. The hand stitching and attention to detail make these stars very special. Wouldn’t this be a lovely remembrance for someone you know?

The star is 7.5” tall and 7” wide, not including the hanger. You are purchasing ONE star- the one pictured in the first photo. This item has been aged to look old, stains and small tears are intentional. This does not affect the quality in any way.

Early Primitive Style Prairie Doll, Paper Mache, OOAK, OFG

This original, one of a kind doll was created to look like a much loved toy from long ago. Her body is made from cotton muslin and is stuffed with clean, new wool to give her the heavy feeling of an old doll. Her breastplate, head, arms and legs were hand sculpted from paper mache and painstakingly sanded, painted and stained, to give her the appearance of age.

Her costume is of my own design and consists of many layers. Her flannel pantaloons are trimmed in vintage tatting. Her floral cotton chemise is piped in black as is her mottled gold, wool felt jacket. Over her chemise, she wears a periwinkle blue petticoat, with tucking along the edges. Her dark floral over skirt is trimmed in vintage lace as are the sleeves of her jacket. Her jacket is held closed with an old and unusual brooch.

She is 22” from the top of her head to the tip of her toes, and is signed and dated on the back of her breastplate. This is an heirloom quality doll and is not suitable for small children. Any stain or wear is intentional and is meant to give this doll an early look.

Much of the work that went into this doll was done by hand. She is well constructed and made to stand the test of time. I know you will be pleased to add this beautiful primitive doll to your collection.
