Pretty as a picture! And oh-so-feminine.

These earrings are hand sculpted flowers with stamens that hang from ear threads. If you don't know what ear thread are, instead of just an ear wire going through your ear,you pull the chain part through as well so they hang down lower and show lovely movement.

Ear threads are actually my favourite style of earrings - they are the most comfortable I have and secure when you use the rubber stopper up against you ear (see the last photo).

The flowers are made from fine silver and the threads are sterling silver. The flower with stamen is 3cm long (1 inch) and the total length is 12cm (4.5inches) - this means they hang down 6cm (2.25 inches) to the bottom of the stamen.

So if you are in the mood for flowers, romance, and love - try this pair! They will definitely catch attention.

Bluebird of happiness - bangle bracelet

The mythology of the bluebird of happiness has deep roots that go back thousands of years. Indigenous cultures across the globe hold similar myths and beliefs about the bluebird. It is a widely accepted symbol of cheerfulness, happiness, prosperity, hearth and home, good health, new births, the renewal of springtime, etc. Virtually any positive sentiments may be attached to the bluebird.

This bracelet is lovely as a gift to someone - a gift of happiness.

The bird is hand sculpted in fine silver and hangs on the sterling silver bangle with the word tag ".... of happiness". The birds wings are blue, colored using resin.

The bangle is 6cm internal diameter - small-medium size. The word tag is 2 cm long. Part of my "birds with words" series.

A constant wish for happiness for the wearer...

Love is the flower of life - silver necklace

"Love is the flower of life" - from a quotation by D. H. Lawrence.

And this necklace is all about love. It just exudes femininity.

It is a pretty fuschia style flower, hand sculpted in fine silver. From the center of the flower, three stamens hang down which give the piece lovely movement. The stamens have river pearls and a swarovski crystal hanging from them. The length of the flower, including stamens is 1.25 inches.

The flower is supplied on a sterling silver 18 inch chain. If you would prefer a 16 or 20 inch chain, please let me know.

A story bracelet, based on a quote by Victor Hugo:

Following the sentiment of the quote, the bracelet reminds the wearer to 'not worry' when times get difficult as we have the strength and capabilities within us - like the bird knowing she has wings.

It makes a wonderful gift for someone who is going through a difficult time right now - or to someone who is often prone to worrying! It is that little nudge to trust and believe in yourself.

Hand sculpted in fine silver,the bracelet is composed of 9 squares which shows a bird flying....landing on a branch...singing...then the branch breaks....but the bird keeps singing as she knows she can fly.

The bracelet is 7 3/4 inches (20cm) long and is secured with a fold over type sterling silver clasp.

Jack the snowman is feeling a little round in the area of his waistband, so he just loves it when you pull the cord at the bottom and he can do jumping jacks! Yes, a snowman necklace that does jumping jacks!

It is sure to delight - both adults and children.

Jack is 2 inches tall and hand made in fine silver. When you pull the cord at his base, his arms and legs raise up. Using the idea of a padlock to symbolize the feeling of security, this " in safety's keeping" necklace is a lariat style necklace comprised of a separate padlock and key.

The padlock and key are hand sculpted in fine silver and the key goes through the loop in the padlock. The weight of the two pieces means that when worn, they hang together.

The details of the piece are lovely - with little screws on the padlock, a little post in the lock, the hollow end of the key.....

A light-hearted whimsical bracelet similar to the animal tracks bracelet but this time showing the footprints from 9 different birds. So when you go to the beach or lake/pond side and see little footprints in the sand or mud, wear this bracelet and you’ll be able to tell who was down by the water! Each footprint square is hand formed in fine silver and then patina is added to highlight the footprint. The bracelet has a soft brushed finish, to represent the ground, mud, sand where the footprints can be seen.

A little play on words from the Latin "Quid pro quo". Popular for all you lawyers, Latin scholars, bird lovers and wordsmiths!!!

This interesting pin or brooch shows the words "quid pro crow" impressed in the silver and highlighted with the use of patina. Hanging from the script is a hand sculpted fine silver crow.

The brooch is fastened with an attractive and stylish fibula type pin which holds the piece firmly in place through tension in the spring of the arm. The pin part is made from stainless steel and matches well with the brushed and patina finish of the rest of the brooch.

Pretty songbird earrings on ear threads. Hand sculpted in fine silver.

If you aren't familiar with ear threads, you thread the post through the ear and also some of the chain, so the chain hangs down at both the front and back of the ear. You slide a stopper up the chain to the back of the ear and that keeps the earrings in place. They are very comfortable.

The birds are 2cm wide and 1cm tall. If you hang equal chain at the front and back, the total length of the earring is 4.5cm (1.5 inches). The chains are sterling silver. The birds can be shiny and polished or have a brushed finish. Both version are shown in the photos.

This poem initially inspired my poem bracelet with illustrations, and now this simpler "bird with words" bangle. It is also available on a chain as a necklace.

The bangle is 6cm internal diameter - small-medium size. The word tag is 2 cm long.

This bangle bracelet is an ideal gift for a birthday. The "bird with words" are on an interchangeable bangle bracelet so additional charms can be added. The bangle is similar to a Pandora, Chamillia, Troll etc bangle bracelet.

Anyone can juggle - silver necklace and earrings

A necklace and earrings set, perfect for those busy people who try and keep too many balls in the air at once ....or for the playful person!

I learnt to juggle quite a few years ago when I was staying at my sister's house and caught chicken pox! My sister had to work so I stayed at her apartment and taught myself to juggle! Got up to 6 balls...but now I struggle with 4!

The latest in my "anyone can" series, this shows anyone with two balls in his hands, two more balls "in the air" ie in the necklace and then four more balls higher up in the air, as earrings!!! Just a delightful, make-you-smile ensemble! Hand sculpted in fine silver, the balls are then covered in resin to give the jolly colors!

Definitely a playful set!

A beautiful hand sculpted brooch to comfort and protect. It just feels like a safe place....

A little hand sculpted figure is nestled inside a purse - with his little hands showing over the top.

The purse features a fibula style pin that is very secure for this brooch. There is alot of spring in the fastener, made from stainless steel, and it hooks safely under the latch.

There is a lot of silver in this piece (35g) so it is suitable to be worn on coats, jackets, sweaters - but not suitable for delicate fabrics such as blouses.

Just a delightful warm, reassuring and comforting unique piece.

The purse is 4cm wide by 1 cm deep by 3.5 cm tall. With the pin, the total height is 6cm.

Bubo the flying owl necklace

Bubo the flying owl is based on the old wooden toys where you pull a string at the base and the arms and legs lift up. In Bubo’s case, he flaps his wings!!!! Hand crafted in fine silver, with lovely detail, this unique owl wants to fly to you.

A short sterling silver chain hangs at the back of Bubo and that is what you pull to make his wings flap.

This is just such a cute and charming piece of “mechanical” jewelry. As Bubo raises his wings, it raises your spirits!

These square silver cufflinks are perfect for the "understated" gentleman in your life. If he is anything like my husband, he doesn't like a lot of show or design. So there is a simple texture on the front of the cufflinks.

Alternatively, they can be worn by women too. There are cuff link blouses out there and this is a great way to add more decoration to a business outfit.

The mechanism is the traditional hinged back where the post is inserted into the button hole and then the post swivels to secure the cuff link in the cuff.

THIS PIECE JUST WON THE SECOND PRIZE IN THE BEAD AND BUTTON COMPETITION!

It's all too easy to rush around, getting caught up in work or something else, and life gets out of balance.

So as you own personal reminder, here is my latest bracelet entitled "Remember the little things". It illustrates 9 different things to help us find that elusive balance on nine different silver squares.

The little things, from left to right on the bracelet are:
stop a little; entertain a little; indulge a little; celebrate a little; care a little; work a little; pamper a little; love a little; play a little.

Each square on the bracelet illustrates a different "little thing" with the help of a bird illustration. The squares are all hand made in fine silver. On the reverse of each square, is written the name of that square (- see last photo). The bracelet length is 7.5 inches/19 cms - standard bracelet size. It closes with a sterling silver box style clasp with a safety catch.

Stuck on you - silver frog necklace

Meet Findlay the frog. He is hand sculpted in fine silver and what I call "a wearer's necklace". That means that the wearer gets the best view - as when you look down at Findlay, you can see his eyes looking back at you and his smiling face. Observers get a good view too - but they don't get to see his adoring eyes!

The necklace is called "stuck on you" as it seems as though Findlay is stuck to the wearer, using his little sticky pads on his feet!

Such a sweet little piece.

Findlay is 4cm wide (1.5 inches) and hangs on a 40 cm (16 inch) sterling silver chain.

I was reading a book recently and in it, they used the word repose a couple of times. What a great old word - rarely used nowadays, and straight away, I knew I had to make a necklace entitled "repose".

So this hand sculpted necklace of a chair, is a wearable reminder to take a rest, forget your worries and find a sense of calmness...

The chair is 1 1/4 inches high and hangs on a 24 inch stainless steel chain. If you prefer a shorter chain, please mention it in the comments...although it does work well on the 24 inch!

Based on the East Rose window of Grace Cathedral in San Francisco, these rose window earrings are hand crafted in fine silver. The coloured "glass" is actually coloured resin - in reds,blues and yellows.
