4 Pitch Pack Flat Wool Combs in Red Oak for processing wool roving (top)

$225.00
4 Pitch Red Oak Pack Flat Wool Combs with Walnut Inlay
Combs for the ultimate in portability!

These wool combs are entirely handmade by my Dad, Emile (Emmy) Nolet--even the tines are cut to length and ground to points by hand. He has been a woodworker for over 35 years and the combs are stamped with "EMMY" and the date finished.

Four rows of tines (4-pitch) with a first row having a tine area of approx. 4" wide and 5" long. The tines are stainless steel and set at a spacing which we've found best for the widest range of fibers. Our Pack Flat Combs have removable handles for easy storage & portability. A dovetail joint provides a secure fit between head & handle when assembled. They have been designed with flat handles so that they can be easily clamped to a table for those times you need an extra hand. Flat handles eliminate the need for a specially designed table clamp--any C-style clamp will do--and reduce slippage both when clamped and when used in the hand giving better control.

Comes complete with:
~ one pair of 4-pitch Pack Flat Combs in red oak
~ pine press-fit tine covers
~ 2" clamp (not shown)

Please use care and extreme caution when using wool combs. ALWAYS make sure the comb is securely clamped before use. Do not leave combs unattended without protective covering or where young children or pets can come into contact with them as the steel tines are extremely sharp and can cause serious injury.

Thank you!

Diz Threader in Maple for threading a diz to prepare wool roving (top) with wool combs

$7.50
Maple Diz Threader

These maple diz threaders are from the birdseye maple batch and are ones that ended up with no 'eyes' or only a couple of 'eyes'. They are a very nice light yellow.

Our diz threaders are made by my Dad, Emile (Emmy) Nolet. He has been a woodworker for over 35 years. Since they are handmade, there may be some small variations in size and the appearance of the wood grain will vary.

A diz threader is much like a needle threader, you don't need it but it can eliminate a lot of frustration. Especially since when you're threading a diz you're always dealing with a puffy bundle of fiber rather than a thread end you can trim back to make it easier. When I use the threader I can be already done dizzing the wool from the combs in the same amount of time it usually takes me to just thread the diz without it.

Diz Threader with stainless steel loop
Overall Length: 5"
Threading Loop: 3 1/8"
Handle: 2 x 1 1/4 x 1/2"

Thank you!
Mini Wool Combs in Red Oak for processing wool roving (top)

$125.00
Mini Wool Combs in Red Oak with Walnut Inlay

These wool combs are entirely handmade by my Dad, Emile (Emmy) Nolet--even the tines are cut to length and ground to points by hand. He has been a woodworker for over 35 years and the combs are stamped with "EMMY" and the date finished.

Our Mini Combs have been designed primarily for handheld use & portability. We've tried to strike a balance between being as lightweight as possible and still being able to process a good amount of fibre at a time. They have been designed with flat handles so that they can be easily clamped to a table for those times you need an extra hand. Flat handles eliminate the need for a table clamp--any C-style clamp will do--and reduce slippage both when clamped and when used in the hand giving better control.

Comes complete with:
~ one pair of 2-pitch (double row) red oak mini wool combs with walnut inlay
~ pine press-fit tine covers
~ 2" clamp (not shown)

Combs have 3" long tines x 3" wide, tines are 5/64" thick stainless steel set at a fine spacing of 3/16" centers. Comb handles are through mortised for a strong joint and are 4" long. Each comb weighs approximately 4 oz. Since they are handmade there may be some variation in size and weight between sets.

Please use care and extreme caution when using wool combs. ALWAYS make sure the comb is securely clamped before use. Do not leave combs unattended without protective covering or where young children or pets can come into contact with them as the steel tines are extremely sharp and can cause serious injury.
