This is another one of my lidded jars in an opaque Chestnut glaze. This glaze is reminiscent of an old-fashioned deep brown color that becomes almost black at the rims. Be sure to see all of the pictures to see the variation of the glazing!

The straight-sided jar stands about 6 inches tall including the lid. There is a recessed area at the top where the lid fits. The jar is about 5 inches at the widest part of the upper rim.

This piece is fired to Cone 7 in an oxidation (electric) kiln and is oven proof and dishwasher safe. The glazes contain no barium, lead or other toxic chemicals.

How can you use it? As a decoration, an art piece, or functionally to hold whatever you wish!

Handbuilt in porcelain using a real hollyhock leaf from my Michigan garden! Hollyhock leaves are wonderful for their depth of texture and interesting jagged edges with imprinting.

This particular piece is about 8 1/2 inches tall and about 7 inches wide.

The leaf is first bisque fired to Cone 04, then glazed with a transparent, shiny dark brown glaze, then fired to Cone 7. It is oven proof and dishwasher safe. If used in the oven, please start with a cold oven.

No lead, barium or other toxic ingredients are used in the glaze.

And what can you do with this piece? It can be a decoration in itself, a soap dish, candle holder, a spoon rest or anything else creative!

Set of Three Different Leaf Bowls!

In deep, rich colors of light rust, olive green and dark brown!

All of the leaves were handbuilt and imprinted with live leaves gathered in Michigan, from my yard and garden!

The largest, a catalpa leaf, measures almost 8 1/2 inches by 7 1/4 inches and is 1 1/4 inches tall at the highest point. The midsized leaf, a wild grape leaf, is 7 inches by 6 inches and stands about 2 inches tall. Both of these leaves are porcelain.

The smallest, made from a wild geranium leaf, is 5 inches by 5 inches and is 1 inch tall. This leaf is made with a spotted stoneware clay and a brown glaze is used, showing the richness of the brown clay.

These pretty little earrings are made from my handmade polymer clay mold of a small Czechoslovakian glass button!

Very sweet and delicate, with a deep, dark pink high-fire ceramic glaze.

The earrings are just about 15MM in diameter and are quite light. A tiny tab bail in silver plate is glued very securely to the back of the ceramic pieces.

The earrings are suspended from sterling silver ear wires and I also include plastic stop beads for secure wearing!

Your earrings will come in a silky drawstring bag with extra bubblewrap for safe transport!

These mini-pots are just so much fun to make and sell well at the Artisans Market here in Ann Arbor! People by them for decorations, tiny vases or to use in other displays!

Mini pots are thrown on the wheel. The technique is called "throwing off the hump" where you make a little pot on the top of a mound of clay, then cut it off and go on to the next pot.

This pot is a small vase in pink over a transparent glaze! The white you see is the color of the porcelain. It is almost 2 1/4 inches tall and about 1 3/4 inches in diameter at the widest part.

The pot is fired to Cone 6 in an oxidation (electric) kiln. It is dishwasher safe and oven proof (if started in a cold oven). No toxic chemical are in this glaze!

Again, this glaze combination is another attempt to recreate a past glaze from 20+ years ago! It combines a rich, dark, shiny brown base with a top coat of a light beige glaze. It is very interesting as the top glaze runs and has a small blue edge at the bottom.

The casserole, or serving dish is 2 1/4 inches tall and 6 1/2 inches in diameter. There are two small lug handles near the top.

The casserole was fired to Cone 7 in an oxidation kiln and is dishwasher safe and oven proof. If baking, start in a cold oven an bring up to temperature.

"Retro Glazed"? Yes, another piece with a lovely combination of a present day glaze experiment and a 25 year old glaze I used in the past!

Fired to Cone 7 in an oxidation kiln and dishwasher safe and oven proof - no lead or barium in this glaze.

The brown glaze is covered on the top by an old Oatmeal Glaze and the combination is just gorgeous! And just the effect I've been trying to obtain!
