“Godiva’s Horse” is number 73 in the series. Lady Godiva talks over her plans with her lovely horse. In a few minutes they’ll be parading through the streets of Coventry in England, in protest of the heavy taxes levied by her husband, Leofric, Earl of Mercia. Tired of her constant entreaties on behalf of the tax-burdened people, he has finally told her that if she will strip naked and ride through town, he will lift the taxation. The town is ordered to keep indoors and shut their windows, while she rides past, clothed only in her long hair. Faithful to his word, her husband then abolished the taxes - an 11th century bargain that would be much appreciated today!

Capture the light of the stars and the sun within the slender facets of this beautiful quartz crystal. This is used in its natural form, just as it came out of the ground, as evidenced by the unpolished surfaces of the upper and lower ends. However, most of the rest of the crystal is brilliantly clear, and wrapped in 20-guage wire. A tiny, irredescent light-catcher bead dangles near the top, and moves independently of the crystal. This large pendant measures 2 3/4” including the bale. The crystal itself is 2” long and nearly 3/4” wide across.

A black 18" neck cord, with lobster claw closure and an extension of 1 1/2", ships with the pendant.

Some value quartz crystals for their calming qualities in aiding relaxation and easing pain. But I love them because they remind me of Truth – clear and brilliant, unclouded by lies, uncompromising in their honest reflection of pure light. And the child in me still loves to simply peer through their bright prisms.

These lovely earrings bring the soft whisper of the Celtic with them. Their beads are a lovely green, between celadon and lime, with a mother-of-pearl shimmer across their surfaces to catch the light. These measure 3/4” x 1/2” x 2/16”, before being topped with a silver tone Triquetra (Trinity Knot) and a tiny square emerald green stone, flecked with gold. Light and comfortable to wear, these unique, hand-wired earrings measure 2 3/4” long.

The Triquetra, also know as the Trinity Knot or the Celtic Triangle, is an ancient symbol formed by 3 interwoven arches. Pagans and Christians have both found meaning in this powerful symbol. It is featured in the Book of Kells, the famous illuminated manuscript compiled around 800 AD, on Iona Island off the Scottish coast. Even older, Triquetra-carved rune stones have surfaced in northern Europe that predate 1,000 AD.

In Christianity, the Triquetra pictures the Trinity union of Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The lines of the form have no beginning and no end, beautifully expressing eternity. Equality is shown by the sameness of each arc, and the interwoven aspect of the design illustrates undividable unity.

For anyone who wishes they had a little herd of horses! Approximately 4.25” tall. Oval wood base measures 6.75” x 5”.

Each figure is sculpted from polymer clay over hand formed wire armatures. After curing the clay, the piece was painted with acrylics and rubbed with a light antiquing glaze. A clear finish completes the work. No molds were used or made from this piece. It is one of a kind.

Here's a piece of sculpture you can wear, if you dare, and it's large enough, bold enough and unique enough to make quite a fashion statement!

This horse head pendant is hand sculpted from polymer clay, and finished in bronze colors with subtle silvery highlights. A high gloss glaze adds realism to the metallic faux finish. He is one of a kind, made without molds, and measures approximately 3 1/4" long, including the bale. His head height is approximately 1 1/2" from the bottom of his cheek to the top of his forelock. The opening in the bale is a fraction less than 1/4".

Connemaras are known as mountain and moorland ponies, whose ancestors have lived in Ireland for thousands of years. Originating in Connemara, County Galway, in western Ireland, its lineage has been enriched by Thoroughbred, Arabian and Spanish bloodlines. The Connemara Pony is kept hardy by its own environment, because it lives unprotected on rough pasture in harsh weather conditions, where only the strongest of the breed survive and thrive.

Today, many Connemaras are gray in color, with a few having reddish manes and tails, like our little pony listed here. I’ve named him Aodhfin, Irish for “white fire.” He is sculpted from polymer clay over a hand formed wire armature, and stands 2 1/2” tall by 4 ½” long. No molds were used or made from this original piece of artwork, meaning he is - and will remain - one of a kind.
