This clasp free necklace is made with seed beads, Czech glass beads, and fiber optic cat’s eye beads. Colors include caramel, topaz, orange, white and green.

A long band of widely spaced netting mimics the look of water rippling over a sandy beach as the tide moves out. At each end of the necklace, glass clam shell beads and hand stitched star fish beads complete the ocean theme. Randomly spaced white and green flecked glass beads throughout the netting add a little extra personality.

This necklace can be worn in a variety of ways. Nearly any style of knotting or draping that is suitable for a scarf can be used with this piece. When worn lariat style, the netting contracts into a stylish rope necklace. When knotted at the front, the starfish and sandy colored netting take center stage.

“Tide Pool” would look wonderful with a blouse or sweater, and could even make a little black dress stand out in a crowd.

The width of the netting is 3 inches when laid flat. The spacing of the netting can vary, depending on the style of wrap that you choose. The total necklace length is 40 inches.

This Olympic Medal inspired necklace is made with Czech and Japanese seed beads, a Swarovski rivoli crystal rhinestone, and Japanese hex-cut beads. Colors include varying shades of green, blue and purple.

At the center of the medallion pendant is a Vitrail rivoli, which sparkles with every color of the rainbow. It is set in a peyote stitch bezel, and surrounded by a swirling ring of seed beads, that gradually shifts from purple to green, and back again.

The medallion is suspended from a V-shaped St. Petersburg chain. The color of the chain gradually changes color, with the centre of the V matching the blue beads of the medal, and ending in purple and green at the clasps. Throughout the center of the chains are an interesting and pretty mixture of large seed beads and hexagon beads, in assorted shades of blue, green and purple. The loop and toggle clasp is hand stitched from matching seed beads.

Each side of the necklace measures 12 inches (30.5 cm) long, including the clasps. The medallion is just under 2 inches (5 cm) across.

This piece was designed for the Etsy Beadweavers Team December 2009 Challenge, “Peace Piece”. Participants were asked to create a piece of beadwork with the theme “Peace and the Winter Olympics” which reflects friendly competition and respect for others.

“Dream Medallion” embraces three key concepts:

Peace, which is expressed with the calm, cool shades of blue, green and purple; Harmony, in the way that the colors blend together and flow into one another; and Diversity, which is represented by the mixture of beads at the centre of the St. Petersburg chain, and the prismatic colors of the Vitrail rivoli at the heart of the medal.

This pendant necklace is made with Swarovski crystal beads, Czech and Japanese seed beads, and shell coins. Colors include rose, white pearl, magenta, yellow and blue.

Suspended from a white and yellow daisy chain is an intricate pendant made with the pearl-netting technique. Nestled between each diamond of tiny seed beads is a sparkling round Swarovski crystal in yummy shades of pink and yellow.
