Black Ivy Necklace

Exotic and beautiful, this necklace is a mixture of black and other dark colors for a look that can be worn with almost any wardrobe.

The pendant is a dichroic glass piece that I fused myself using a black base and subtle dichroic effects within. The center dichroic area is a midnight blue that shimmers with depth. Measures about 23 x 25 mm (1" in length). (For a description of dichroic glass, see my shop policies page.)

I used my handmade pendant as the inspiration for the necklace which is beaded with high quality Miyuki glass beads from Japan. The small dark green iris darts create interest around the neck and the small bronze seed beads reflect points of light and color. Finished of with silver-plated lobster claw clasp and adjustable chain, this necklace measures 16" to 19". A small dart hangs on the adjustable chain for added detail.

This bracelet is one of my favorite pieces of jewelry. It has a unique, sophisticated look and can be worn with many outfits. The white jade is so pale and has the slightest hint of green/gray almost glowing because of the contrasting black Agate stones. Bali Silver caps the Agate and the tiniest Swarovski crystals are hiding out between Sterling Silver daisy spacers. The bracelet is finished off with Sterling Silver balls and a Sterling Silver lobster claw clasp.

Green Rutilated Quartz is one of my favorite gemstones because of the inner glow from the refraction of light within. The subtle green color and cloudiness of this quartz is accented with the internal needles of green to black tourmaline.

The largest bead measures 9x15mm so it's pretty chunky. I've enhanced the soft green of the stone with brilliant Swarovski crystals in a similar hue. Bali Silver caps add a regal quality to the piece. Finished off with a Sterling Silver lobster claw clasp.

I took the hibiscus flower bands off of some hoop earrings I had and recycled them back into the pendant for this necklace. Stacked with a small, peach pearl; a medium, mauve pearl and a large, white pearl. All Sterling Silver and finished with a secure spring ring clasp with an adjustable chain. Two crystal Swarovski beads adorn the clasp area and a small, white pearl hangs from the chain at the back of the neck.
