A warm wood fire is something to behold- mezmerizing as it is relaxing. It is in front of or around these that some of my most cherished memories have taken place: as a child, I went to a summer camp that always involved some sort of fireside sing-along, guitars wailing, squeeky pre-teen voices slightly out of tune; Christmases with our friends, the Twisses, whose back door led into a room that served no other purpose but to take off one's boots and toast cold feet at a fire; power outages spent hovering in front of the basement fireplace at my old house. This Firelight Series is my homage to those and thousands more fireside memories.

First Snow - Red Barn Fine Art Print

In celebration of one of nature's most magical events, I hit the backroads of the American Midwest last winter with my trusty camera in hopes of capturing an image as somnolent and soft as the spirit of the year's first snowfall.

Down windy lanes and narrow farm roads (and with the help of a few last-minute left hand turns) I found myself in front of this red barn, transfixed by its players. A brightly painted modern tractor laid burried deep in a field of white that on most occasions serves as the driveway, and a freshly painted sign for a tree farm waved merrily at the edge of the property. But it was a carefree nutmeg mare grazing slowly around the base of a venerable tree that stole my heart.

A quick pause on the Golden Jubilee Bridge presents the perfect spot to take in the heartbeat of London. Within steps, a train rolls into Embankment Station behind you and Eye of London churns slowly around and around before you. It is one of my favorite spots in the city, and is part of my fine art London series.

I can blame my admiration for guitars on the old days at University, when my friends and I would load into whichever car we had been able to legally park near our house in the city that week, and drive out to the Falls for an impromptu jam session on the boulders in the splash zone.
