This Momma dragon has been waiting a long time for her babies to hatch!
Here they are!

In the first picture, Momma is snoozing on her nest.
In picture #2, she lifts herself up off of the nest to watch her babies hatching!
Picture #3 shows the little family taking a nap together!

I created this set using graphite pencils on acid-free, heavy weight paper.
They are in the standard ACEO size of just 2.5 x 3.5 inches.
This listing is for all three. I just couldn't separate them!

"Autumn"

Here is an original chalk pastel drawing that I did of a gorgeous old Birch tree that is growing down the road from me. It was a sunny day in autumn when I took the photos of this old tree and the sky was a deep, clear blue. The shadows were dark and abstract against the brilliant white bark. I tried my best to capture what I saw in this tiny pastel!

This piece is in the standard ACEO size of just 2.5 x 3.5 inches. I created it using chalk pastels on Strathmore Bristol smooth paper. It is signed, titled and dated on the back.

"Autumn" was displayed by Strathmore Paper company at a 3 day convention in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was an honor to have several of my ACEO displayed at the Strathmore booth!

Here is another little collage in the ACEO size of just 2.5 x 3.5 inches.

I created this piece using a discarded wooded pin in the shape of a giraffe. I took the pin off the back, created a background for the giraffe to "live" in, then glued her on!

I have title this piece, "Warm Days".

The background was done in oil pastels on acid free mat board. The giraffe is carved out of several different types of wood. ( I did not do the carving.)

This is a little collage that I did in the ACEO size.

A friend was going to throw away this wooden chicken pin, so I decided to try something new with it!
I took the pin off the back, created a scene for the chicken to "live" in, then glued her onto her new nest!

The back-ground art was done in oil pastels on acid free mat board. The chicken is a carved wooden piece made of several different kinds wood. (I didn't carve the hen.)

I've titled this one, "Naughty Hen". Because she is nesting WAY down the lane, where her eggs won't be found by her farmer friend! My hens do this to me all the time! Boy, are they clever when they want to hatch out their babies!

"D" is for "Downy".

I drew these two downy chicken feathers from my own chickens. Don't worry! I don't pluck my chickens! They "molt" or shed their feathers twice a year, the same way dogs' shed their fur! Then, I gather them up to use in my art!

"Baby Squirrel"

I have had the pleasure of raising & releasing three baby squirrels since 2003. I never thought of squirrels as much more than pests that raided my bird feeders, until I raised my first one! Then EVERYTHING changed! I was in love!
They are really funny, playful and naughty creatures! I would never want to keep one as a "pet", but raising them to release has been an awesome experience that I would do again in an instant!

This is an original ACEO drawing of a knot on a tree that I saw while walking with my girls (my Labs, that is!) in Ralph Stover State Park.

I sketched the piece onto the ACEO mat board while walking along the trail. Then, I finished the piece in ink and pastel when I got home! How fun is that?! Very! (Although, my girls were a bit impatient with me when I kept stopping to draw!)

This little drawing was done on acid free mat board with archival ink and pastels. It is in the standard trading card size of just 2.5 x 3.5 inches!

HERE IS A NEW SERIES THAT I JUST STARTED! MY COLLAGE SERIES!!

I was cleaning house and found a stack of old wrapping paper that I wasn't sure what to do with. I almost put it into the recycle bag, but then, an idea struck me! What if I used it to collage some ACEOs?? How fun would that be? So, I decided to try it and here they are!

Each of these pieces were created using an acid free, mat board as a base. Then, I glued on either wrapping paper, magazine clippings or my own photographs. I layered many of these with tiny pieces of mat board to create a 3D effect.

I was cleaning house and found a stack of old wrapping paper that I wasn't sure what to do with. I almost put it into the recycle bag, but then, an idea struck me! What if I used it to collage some ACEOs?? How fun would that be? So, I decided to try it and here they are!

Each of these pieces were created using an acid free, mat board as a base. Then, I glued on either wrapping paper, magazine clippings or my own photographs. I layered many of these with tiny pieces of mat board to create a 3D effect.

Each is the standard ACEO size of just 2.5 x 3.5 inches, signed and dated on the back.

The photos in this ACEO were taken by me! The large photo is of a weanling buck. The inset photo is of a huge mature buck.
I titled this piece, "Let me live... Long enough..." because the hunters around here keep taking the yearling bucks before they ever have a chance to breed! The bucks around here can become "six points" in their first year! I just wish the hunters would let them live long enough to see how big their racks would get as 3, 4 or 5 year olds!!

Here is a colorful little abstract piece that I just completed this week!

I don't do abstracts very often, but feel the need to from time to time. They seem to loosen me up, get me to relax and enjoy my art when I am feeling stressed or blocked.

Well, this one did that for me, for sure! I really enjoyed working this piece and I hope it shows!

'Hard to Kill'

This is one of my favorite plants. Mostly because they are hard to kill! They grow like vines and I have to cut off the long pieces and put them in water to root them. If I don't, they grow right down to the floor and put roots into my rug! Then, I have MORE of them, stretching down towards my rug... I've even put some of them in my fish tanks and the darn things LOVED it! I think they are growing faster... oh my! Why are they my favorite plants?

This is a little watercolor painting I did in my sketch book back in 2005. I set this aside and totally forgot to list it! I think it's time to find it a new home... maybe I should send some of the real ones with it... just kidding! (unless you want some!)
