Would you like a scarf that will work with an overcoat or a t-shirt? Will help keep you warm, but not weigh you down? Will go with everything you own? Will quickly become your very favorite accessory? Then you need a Mesh Scarf!

There are two styles of Mesh Scarves:

The Souffle is knit out of a blend of brushed suri alpaca, merino wool, and bamboo. What's that mean, you say? Well, suri alpaca is the rarer, silkier type of alpaca, and brushed makes it fluffy. You know those flannel sheets you love for the winter? Those are brushed cotton. Imagine silky-soft alpaca brushed in the same manner, and highlighted with smooth bamboo and snuggly merino! They really are as luxurious as they sound.

The Cobweb is knit of lustrous kid mohair. Mohair comes from angora goats, and "kid" refers to the fineness of the fiber, not necessarily the age of the animal (though as in many species, the baby coats of the goats are finer than those of the adults, hence the term kid mohair). This mohair yarn feels as though it has silk in it, but is actually kid mohair with a touch of nylon and merino wool (mainly as stabilizing components to hold the mohair fluff). It is even finer and lighter than the alpaca scarves, and would work equally well in Dallas or Duluth!

As shown in the listing photo, the Souffle scarves are available in Pumpkin (orange), Ginger (golden tan), and Strawberry Cream (light pink). The Cobweb scarves are available in Stream (sky blue), Storm (twilight blue), and Heather (medium purple). This listing is for a single scarf measuring approximately 4" wide and between 6'-0" long (Cobweb) and 7'-0" long (Souffle). This lovely piece is knit from my own design in an snuggly acrylic/alpaca blend in shades of soft blues and greens. It is just the thing to wear on those spring and summer evenings when your day outfit isn't warm enough for the coolness after the sun goes down. It would also be great to keep at the office for those heavily air-conditioned days.

The fabric is very stretchy and should fit most people. I have to say most as I'm sure that there is someone somewhere that it wouldn't fit. The model photographed is about 5'5" (165cm). The large end measures 17" (43 cm) in diameter, and the small end 10" (25 cm) in diameter, and the piece is 17" (43 cm) in length. I did not use any needles for this beautiful piece--I literally knit it on my hands! This results in larger spacing between rows. Therefore, wearing it requires somewhat more care than my regular work--it can be snagged more easily. However, I think its beauty outweighs the extra care needed to wear it!

It can be worn as a wrap or as a super-snuggly scarf. It stretches very easily width-wise due to the construction technique, but can be pulled back into shape just as quickly.

The gorgeous colors were provided by fellow Etsyian HandSpunandDyedToo--as you might have guessed, she handspins and dyes wool. This is created from one of her skeins, and as it is 100% merino wool, it cannot be machine washed.

This wrap measures 60" (152cm) long. Width is hard to gauge, as it stretches easily. However, it can be anywhere from 4" (10cm) wide (when worn as a scarf) to 36" (92cm) or more (when allowed to stretch out). Thanks for looking!

This luxurious scarf is knit in a dense mesh pattern with snuggly soft baby alpaca yarn, which is lighter than wool and even softer. I used this same yarn in my own winter scarf (for those times I travel back East). The deep texture of this knit allows pockets of warm air to be trapped, providing extra insulation against the cold.

This color has far more depth than could ever be shown in a photograph. The wool is blended extremely well, and has individual fibers of ruby red, emerald green, golden yellow, and natural fawn. This careful blend provides an overall sagey taupe color, and appears a little different every time you look at it. To help give an even better idea of the color, the last two pictures are not of this piece, but of a cabled pocket scarf I have previously sold.

This scarf measures 4" (10cm) in width and 80" (203cm) in length, not counting the 4" (10cm) long fringes. It's plenty long enough to wrap around a few times for extra coziness. I knit this T-Shrug from a wool/acrylic blend yarn that feels like soft, smooth cotton, but definitely warms like wool. I wear mine quite often, and am always surprised at how much warmer I feel from such a lightweight and compact piece!

The T-Shrug has slightly puffed sleeves, and a bit of extra room in the back for comfort in movement. The front and back are quite indistinguishable, but you'll be able to tell because I'll stitch in a (non-itchy) tag for you!

This piece is shown modeled on a trim 5'2" woman, but I have tried it on as well, and at 6'0" and not so trim, I feel confident in saying that it would fit up to 5'10" and about an 11" bicep quite comfortably. This gorgeous wrap is knit with hand-dyed wool yarn from Springwater Fiber Workshop, a non-profit fiber collective in Alexandria VA. The vivid blues, greens, and yellows remind me of the Caribbean, and the open stitch makes it just right for those indoor drafts and poorly heated spaces. Keep it at the always too chilly office, or by the couch for movie nights.

The wool in this wrap is quite soft, and plied with a thin woolen thread for some added texture. This piece is actually quite large--it measures about 28" (71cm) wide and 60" (152cm) long! Please note that the model (me) is about 6' (1.83m) tall, so this wrap is really large enough for almost anyone. Well, fellow Etsyian aliceofkansas must have been thinking of them when she used 13 different colors to dye this incredibly bright merino wool and then handspun it into a super-squishy yarn. She actually dyed her hands pink for a week to produce these vivid colors!

This fun hat is quite sturdy though very soft, and will quickly become your child's favorite. It is very stretchy, and should fit children between the ages of 4 and 10, depending on their head size. Please do compare your child's measurements to those of the hat to ensure a comfy fit.

I made a spinning mistake when making this FunkYarn that resulted in it being perfectly knittable, but straighter and not as coily as I wanted. This means even greater savings for you!

This FunkYarn is spun from a wonderfully random batt comprised of colorful merino, pink bamboo, humanely raised kid mohair from Martha's Vineyard Fiber Farm, and silver glitz. I plied it with a silver thread for even more funk.

I can feel the brisk fall air when I look at this skein. Reminds me of the colors reflected in a pond in November--the cold blue of the sky, the fiery browns, oranges, and reds of the leaves, and a bit of grey-white from the scattered clouds.

This yarn is super-squishy and soft. I wouldn't hesitate to put this next to my skin, or even a baby's skin! It matches the lighter weight Fall Creek yarn also on sale in my shop, as shown in the last photo.
