This roving is many fine wools blended together, very soft.

This is Handpainted Wool Roving or Combed Top, or sliver as it is sometimes called. Each one of my rovings is unique, hand dyed by me in my tie dye style. This is territorial 60's grade wool which is many breeds of wool like ramboullet, targee and others blended together for a soft and lofty wool.

This wool roving is very soft, suitable for next to the skin items. The roving spins very easily and felts very well. Both needle felting and wet felting methods are suited to this soft roving.

The wool is dyed with washfast acid dyes by me dudleyspinner. I have been dying wool for about 20 years now.
This roving is an unusual combination of magenta, blacks, greens, yellows, oranges. There are many shades and tones of soft colorful fun.

Needle Felted Handle for Needle Felting Tool by dudleyspinner

This is a size 36 star Groz-Beckert needle felting needle set into a Sculpey base, then needle felted on the outside. The handle makes needle felting much more comfortable and you maintain control of the needle resulting in fewer mispokes.

The whole needle and holder is about 6 inches long. The ball shape fits neatly into the palm of your hand.

The 36 star needle is best for shaping and firming. It leaves a slightly visable hole in the felt. The handle makes it easier to needle felt longer with less fatigue than just holding a single needle.

Hand Spun dudleyspinner Wool Singles Yarn HARCHESTER 5 Ounces

This is 5 ounces or 140 grams in one skein of singles 100% wool yarn. The skein is about 270 yards measured with a McMoran yarn balance. The yarn is slightly overspun or energized singles. that is aprox. 10 WPI. I have wound this into a center pull cake. I would use this as a sock yarn on size 0-1 needles. It could also be knit or crocheted as a light weight yarn. The color changes are spun in and you will have a one of a kind project no matter how you decide to create with this soft and springy yarn. The wool is my dudleyspinner tie dye roving, combed top and wears extremely well. The wool is territorial 60's wool which is a blend of ramboulliet and targee and other wools. You deserve to create with dudleyspinner yarn!

Hemp Fiber for Spinning 5 Ounces

This fine hemp fiber is from Canada. It is a natural ecru color. The hemp spins into a strong yarn that gets better with use. It starts out quite hard and gets softer with each washing. Hemp does not wear out, it wears in. Hemp is antimicrobial which means that bacteria does not grow well in it. I wet spin the hemp by dampening my fingers while drafting. This makes the loose ends spin into the yarn. Once spun, the yarn is so strong it must be cut. It can not be torn by hand. I had a clothespin bag crocheted from hemp yarn out on my clothes line for 3 years in all kinds of weather.

Unlike cotton, Hemp does not take any chemicals to grow and it enriches the soil rather than depleting it. Cotton must be defoliated to harvest it. Agent Orange or paraquat is sprayed on the plants to kill them. Hemp is a green alternative to cotton.
