Here is a hand spun single ply yarn, spun by me from hand dyed Falkland wool, dyed by the Yarn Wench, color "Mahogany Orchid" - shades of orchid, black and mahogany/brown. Falkland is "in between" for me as far as softness goes - not as soft/squishy as merino but not as rough as domestic or Romney.

Here is a hand spun single ply yarn spun by me from hand dyed Falkland wool, dyed by cloudlover69.etsy.com . This is color "Pink Grapefruit" and includes bright shades of pale and hot pink and peach. Fibers include wool top, Shetland locks, merino wool, superwash wool, and glitz. I plied with a silver metallic thread. The colors are shades dark burgundy, red, sky blue and gray.

If you purchase this listing, you will receive ONE skein of hand spun bamboo yarn, spun from the "Rain Forest" color - shades of mocha brown and chartreuse-y green - dyed by fiberlady.etsy.com and spun by me.

It will be spun either slightly thicker for DK weight, or thinner for Sport weight, or possibly in between. Yardage will vary from 100-150 yards depending on how thin it is spun. IF YOU HAVE A PREFERENCE, please note that in the "Notes to Seller" section when checking out. It will weigh approximately 4 oz.

Your yarn will be spun and mailed within 48 hours of your payment (usually it will ship the next day)

Bamboo is washable but due to the dyeing I would still wash this in cool water and air dry.

Bamboo is an environmentally friendly fiber with a unique anti-bacteria agent that should last for many washings. It is also naturally pest resistant and due to the fiber structure of bamboo, it can absorb and evaporate sweat from human skin very quickly (thus making it very cool in summer!). Bamboo has the sheen, weight and drape of silk but much more durable! As wonderful as it is, please keep in mind that it has NO memory like WOOL does, so it may not be good for fitted knitting or crochet projects unless used with another yarn. But, for draping projects or projects where elasticity is not required, it is excellent! And SO soft and shiny!

Hand Spun Single Ply Bamboo Yarn

Here is a hand spun single ply yarn skein, spun by me from the custom "Kitty Grrlz Dark" colorway, dyed by fiberlady.etsy.com and spun by me. This is the dark version of the purple and orange combination she dyed special for me. This skein, along with this one here:

are a little bit different than the other skein I have available. There isn't quite the range of shades of the purple and orange, it's more of a "medium" version of the Kitty Grrlz colorway.

SKEIN 1 (pink/yellow ties): 154 yards, 4.1 oz/118 grams

Wraps per inch: 16-18
Gauge per inch: 5.75-6.5
Recommended needles: 3-5 (metric: 3.25-3.75)
Recommended hook: D, E

Sport weight

Bamboo is washable but due to the dyeing I would still wash this in cool water and air dry.

Bamboo is an environmentally friendly fiber with a unique anti-bacteria agent that should last for many washings. It is also naturally pest resistant and due to the fiber structure of bamboo, it can absorb and evaporate sweat from human skin very quickly (thus making it very cool in summer!). Bamboo has the sheen, weight and drape of silk but much more durable! As wonderful as it is, please keep in mind that it has NO memory like WOOL does, so it may not be good for fitted knitting or crochet projects unless used with another yarn. But, for draping projects or projects where elasticity is not required, it is excellent! And SO soft and shiny!

Squish-tastic! yarns are yarns spun with one thick/thin strand of merino wool and a thinner strand of a merino blend - either merino/silk or merino/tencel.

This skein is spun by me from merino wool hand dyed by the Yarn Wench in color "Bronze" and an 80/20 merino/silk blend also hand dyed by the Yarn Wench in color "Imperial Bronze". The wool is spun thick/thin and the merino/silk is spun thin and then they are both plied together. Very squishy soft! Shades of gold, olive, khaki and bronze.

The colors are very bright, but a bit lighter than previously listed skeins. The yellows and greens, especially, are very bright - almost neon. If you purchase this listing, you will receive ONE skein of hand spun bamboo yarn, spun by me from hand dyed bamboo fiber from fiberlady.etsy.com, color "Prairie Dusk". Shades of gold, purple, and a peachy shade of orangey/brown. Similar to older versions of this color and IS different than "Prairie Autumn Gold".

**First two pictures show the color most accurately.

I have enough fiber to spin two skeins, so if you would like another one please convo me or email me at kittygrrlzinc@yahoo.com and I can adjust the listing.

It will be spun either slightly thicker for DK weight, or thinner for Sport weight, or possibly in between. Yardage will vary from 100-150 yards depending on how thin it is spun. This is a fun skein spun by me from a carded batt from loop.etsy.com - one of her "Spontaneous Spinning batts". It's a spontaneous blend of wools, bamboo, sparkle and more! Novel-Ply yarns are hand spun wool plied with a novelty yarn. Batt-tacular! yarns are yarns spun from blended fiber batts.

This skein is spun from a LOOP Spontaneous Spinning batt called "Ode to Autumn". It is a spontaneously carded batt of fiber including alpaca, merino, corriedale, mohair, nylon, tussah silk, silk noil, angelina, firestar, bamboo and pygora in gorgeous autumn shades of brown, orange/red, green and creamy white. I spun the batt and then plied with Trendsetter CHARM yarn. This is a super bulky skein that may be enough for a small project like a hat or small scarf, or combine it with another yarn for something larger. Very warm, thick, and squishy!

Falkland is "in between" for me as far as softness goes - not as soft/squishy as merino but not as rough as domestic or Romney. The Falkland I get from cloudlover is amazing - spins like a dream for a really nice yarn!
