The bottom feather was chosen
for its rich brown base with a
cream edge...
and the velvety softness.

Over that is an ashy brown goose
feather, and topped off with a a
blue tinted pheasant feather with
yellow tipped edge.

The faerie shield is sewn onto a
vintage button, which is framed
by a leather shield.

In the middle of the faerie shield
is a tiny glass bead of deep purple.

Set on brass chain with a lobster
claw clasp for easy placement around
the neck of your car's mirror.

The whole piece measures 5 inches
long (not including the chain).

The chain is an additional 5 inches
long which should accommodate most
mirrors, I can adjust it if needed.

So I needed a case for my very first
ipod touch (I'm such a late bloomer),
which I'm completely in love with.

I made the brown leather one (see last photo)
and loved it so much I figured I'd make another.

There is a little pocket for the ear buds.
Right above that pocket are a few naturally
occurring blemishes which only adds to
the piece (imho).

As you can see if fits my ipod touch perfectly.

Completely hand stitched with a Glover's
needle and simulated sinew.

**If you prefer the brown one like I made for
myself just let me know. I have enough leather
to make 2 more brown ones and one more redwood.

All done by me.

The key is vintage with some
great patina on both sides. One
side is blank, and the other side
has partial words covered in rust.

I added a sweet filigree brass
heart, with a lucite milky light
blue bead.

It's aluminum. So you can't really tell
its old, but it has nicks and scratches.

I wrapped it with (new) aluminum wire
and attached it to a 20 inch silver chain
that closes with a lobster claw clasp.

The largest feather on the bottom is
a peahen, which is securely sewn to
the natural barred turkey pointer.

Next is the Narragansett turkey feathers,
the tip and some fluff. The tiniest
feather at the top is a pheasant.

I stitched the five feathers together,
then wrapped the quills in gold suede
and attached the faerie shield.

It has a 5 inch loop for displaying.

The actual feather measures 10 inches
long by 2.75 inches wide.

At the top is a vintage skeleton

the four sacred medicines of
sage, cedar, sweetgrass & tobacco.

Sage: is a good herb for smudging, encourages a healthy long life and wisdom. Tradition says that wherever sage is, evil spirits cannot enter.

Sweetgrass: is my favorite herb to smudge with, not only for the sweet, calming smell, but it is the only known plant to burn clean. It attracts positive energies & spirits, calms the nerves, also helps to relieve upset tummies (I've tried it, it really works).

Cedar: is for protection from negative energies. Eagle feathers are traditionally stored in cedar boxes when not in use. Excellent for cleansing sacred objects and such.

Tobacco: is what is used when one needs to offer a gift for what is taken from the earth or the four legged ones. When smoked, prayers, thoughts and wishes are taken up to the creator with the smoke.

Measures 10.5 inches long by
4 inches wide. With a beaded
display loop at the top.

Display near the main entrance to your dwelling.
