This brightly colored African Trade Bead is an ancient artifact.

I started with a heavy gauge Sterling Silver wire and wrapped it up with yet another heavy gauge SS wire to make the chunky, sturdy form. The Sterling Silver flower is wrapped right into the form. The entire form faces the sky, on a tilt, toward the sun. A perfect daytime ring.

The entire ring has been antiqued and makes this ring look like an ancient artifact!

This ring is a size 7.

Fantasy Silver and Turquoise Necklace

I began this fantasy with the Sterling Butterfly and the Vintage Rhinestone Necklace. Soon after that, it just evolved. The Butterfly landed on a huge silver plate filigree oval which is antiqued.

There are 6 faceted Sleeping Beauty Turquoise dangling from Sterling loops and beads. Sterling trumpet flowers have dangling Sterling stems with Turquoise Swarovski's at the tips.

The center piece is Antique Sandwich Glass in a dark Aqua color, tumbled to a frosty patina. To learn more about this glass, please read my Profile.

Rhinestone chain is approx. 15". The filigree pendant is 3" x 2".

A Smoky and Mysterious Ring, best to be worn in the twilight hours....

The huge 22mm Smoking Swarovski Crystal on this ring is facing upward, to the sky, on a tilted platform of wrapped Sterling Silver which has been mellowed to an antiqued patina.

Sterling Silver vines crawl across the top and down the side of the band, loosely at first, before tightly wrapping itself around the whole band.

This ring is a size 7.

14mm Aquamarine Quartz, a 22mm Topaz Swarovski Crystal, and 2 Miriam Haskell Swirl Pearls set the color tone for this soothing bracelet. This is a chunky bracelet that twinkles in the light and is lovely at night.

The 2 Miriam Haskell Swirl Pearls are Vintage beads from the 1950's. They were rescued from a broken piece of Miriam Haskell jewelry in my personal collection. They have a luminous coating with a hint of a vintage off white patina.

Sterling Silver, Silver Plate and Balinese Silver bring the light in to play over the faceted beads. This bracelet is 8".

This pretty cross is created with Pink Antique Sandwich Glass which has been crushed and formed in my Kiln. The effect is quite pretty and confetti like with dark pink swirls inside clear glass. On the front of the cross is an antiqued brass filigree with a London Blue Topaz dangling from the bottom. The measurements are approx. 1-1/2" x 1" x 1/8" thick. RARE Yellow Antique Sandwich Glass is a frosty pale shade of lemony yellow dangling inside a Needle Lace Netted sack. This glass is thick and rounded with a smooth and frosty patina. Sterling Silver coil at the top of the glass is attached to a Sterling Ring. The thick Sterling Silver Rolo Chain is 18" with a Sterling Lobster Clasp. Your piece of Sandwich Glass is over 100 years old! The original Sandwich Glass factory in Sandwich, Cape Cod, Massachusetts was in operation from 1825-1888. Legend has it from those who were residents of Sandwich in the early 1900's, that the original formula for the glass was destroyed along with the building. The ruby color glass required gold which they imported from Italy, and much of the sand was from Virginia, and also the Berkshires. The Company imported materials for their glass from other areas as well. Because much of this information is unknown and unavailable today, the original Sandwich Glass was never accurately reproduced. After fire destroyed the building,there remained left behind, and buried under the ground, thousands of broken pieces which were discards from many color and product experiments from the 500 or so employees and craftsmen that worked at this glass factory. These fragments were dug up from the earth through the years. Some of the fragments are naturally smoothed from natural influences, but most of this glass is re-worked in my Glass Studio and is tumbled, ground, kiln formed, polished and drilled by me. I believe I am one of the very few who may still have this glass in this form. My Mother-In-Law grew up across the street from the original factory and was one of those who dug up much of this glass as a child, along with her 10 siblings. This piece of Antique Sandwich Glass is an original shard dug up from the original Sandwich Glass Factory which dates to the late 1800's. The outstanding color is a deep pink interior with white translucent borders. The entire piece of glass is semi-translucent and just beautiful in the light. This piece is approx. 1-1/2" x 1" and dangles from a spiral of thick Sterling Silver. The chain is approx. 16" long with smooth circles of Sterling linked together with smaller oval Sterling rings. There is a Magenta color Garnet wrapped in Sterling and dangling from the end of the chain. A hand formed Sterling Hook makes this necklace fully adjustable.

Set upon a bed of Mother of Pearl Shell, 2 large pieces of frosty green Antique Sandwich Glass are wrapped in Sterling Silver wire and nestled among the faceted Green Amethyst Gemstone. Natural rafia and Vintage Milliner's lime green granulated buds and pink textile flower peeks out from behind the Amethyst gemstone. The big Sterling Bail is looped with turquoise satin cording and Sterling Silver Lobster Clasp. The cording is approx. 29". The pendant is approx. 2-1/4" x 2-1/4".

Precious and Rare, this Frosty Pink glass is "Spangle", or also know as "Vasa Murrhina" or Speckled Glass. The silver specks are mica, which was then coated in Silver. This particular Vasa Murrhina glass was produced at the original Sandwich Glass factory during the late 1800's in Sandwich, MA., and unearthed from the original site. These earrings have been ground and tumbled. Each earring "curl" is approx. 1-1/4" long and 3/4" wide. There is a simple Sterling Silver wired loop with Sterling Silver Post and nut. Part of my Antique Sandwich Glass Sailing Vessel Fleet, this precious ship is constructed of Pink and Pale Green transparent Antique Sandwich Glass which has been tumbled and polished in my Glass Studio. The hull and sail are connected with Sterling Silver wire. Swirled and climbing up the sail is a lucious vine of Pink Tourmaline Gemstones. At the top of the sail is a Stering Silver ring which connects to a Sterling oval loop. The Sterling Silver chain is approx. 17" with Sterling Corrugated rings approx. every 2 inches offset with 2 Sterling rings. This Nautical necklace is a genuine piece of Cape Cod history!

This beautiful peaceful Sailing Ship is made of Antique Sandwich Glass from my private collection. These original glass shards were plucked from the earth where they were originally produced in Sandwich, MA.. These precious pieces were gently shaped and tumbled to achieve the smooth rounded edges and soothing colors of translucent foggy blue and harbor green. Draped across the front of this vessel are two swags of tiny faceted Balinese Silver beads. The Sails are connected to the Hull with tiny Genuine Emerald Gemstones. If you love the Sea, this Starfish choker style necklace takes its origins from Old Cape Cod. Formed in 14ktgf wire, this blue Starfish is completely wire wrapped in 14ktgf wire with a twisted rope texture. The 14ktgf rope wraps around the Starfish as though captured in a fisherman's net. The big blue center is Antique Sandwich Glass which has been tumbled and highly polished. This special and rare glass is surrounded with pretty blue Apatite gemstones. The bluish white gemstones outlining the Apatite are Tourmaline gemstones. There are 3 rope rings in 14ktgf which attach to the supple and soft Blue Greek leather. A Genuine 1-1/4" drop of Cobalt Blue Antique Sandwich Glass is smooth and glossy with thick rounded edges. This beautiful Creamy White and Pink Glass is Antique Sandwich Glass which was dug up from the original factory site in Sandwich, MA.. Dating to the 1800's, this glass is rare and historical. The glass has been cut, ground and tumbled to get this porcelain-like texture and patina. There is a swag of Facted Pink Tourmaline Gemstones on the front of the ship. A Sterling Silver Anchor dangles from the sail, and Sterling Silver wraps around one of the sails. This nautical sailing vessel is constructed with Sterling Silver wire. The chain is 18" of Sterling Silver Rolo chain with a large Faceted Amethyst Glass dangling from the chain. In a separte listing, there are earrings made with this matching glass. These Depression Glass earrings are cut from Pink Dogwood Pattern tea cups. They have been ground and smoothed preserving the dogwood blossoms on each earring. This little Red and Blue Sailboat is made from Antique Sandwich Glass from Cape Cod, MA. The glass has been cut and tumbled to a high polished surface. The glass is thick and smooth. The Red Sandwich Glass is semi-translucent. The Blue Sandwich Glass has a "milky" patina. This Glass Sailboat is constructed with Sterling Silver and has a Sterling Silver Anchor dangling from the top sail. These stunning Caribbean Blue Antique Sandwich Glass Earrings have been created in my Glass Studio. I start by crushing this Rare Glass into frit to be molded in the Kiln. After firing and annealing, I start smoothing and polishing the glass. These very thick tiles have been left with a frosty, beach-like patina, as originally found at the site of the Sandwich Glass Factory a hundred years ago! Sterling Silver Ovals have been formed and looped through the tiles with hand formed ear hooks attached. These earrings dangle approx. 3".

Sandwich Glass should not be confused with beach or sea glass, and other glasses that use a "sandwich" pattern. Authentic Sandwich Glass was produced from 1825 through 1888.

My historical connection and family ties to Sandwich Glass extend back to three generations of the Hamblin and Hoxie Families, who's members continued on as glass cutters at the fabled glass factory well past it's 1888 closing. I have a limited amount of these rare glass artifacts. Every piece of jewelry is authentic Antique Sandwich Glass.

Your piece of Sandwich Glass is over 100 years old! The original Sandwich Glass factory in Sandwich, Cape Cod, Massachusetts was in operation from 1825-1888. Legend has it from those who were residents of Sandwich in the early 1900's, that the original formula for the glass was destroyed along with the building. The ruby color glass required gold which they imported from Italy, and much of the sand was from Virginia, and also the Berkshires. The Company imported materials for their glass from other areas as well. Because much of this information is unknown and unavailable today, the original Sandwich Glass was never accurately reproduced. After fire destroyed the building,there remained left behind, and buried under the ground, thousands of broken pieces which were discards from many color and product experiments from the 500 or so employees and craftsmen that worked at this glass factory. These fragments were dug up through the years. Some of the fragments are naturally smoothed from natural influences, but most is tumbled, kiln formed and drilled by me. I believe I am one of the very few who may still have this glass in this form. My Mother-In-Law grew up across the street from the original factory and was one of those who dug up much of the glass. The prettiest blue Chrysanthemum flower sits in the center of the glass heart and a Turquoise Swarovski Crystal connects it to the Silver plate chain. I used my favorite vintage bird on this necklace. The vintage Trifari Hummingbird is clustered with rhinestones and beautifully enameled. Originally a brooch, it has been mounted onto a pretty faux Blue Peruvian Opal which has been wrapped in a 14ktgf wire cage. I added turquoise color Swarovski crystals to edge out the wire cage. The shape of this is reminiscent of a hummingbird's nest. My Popham Beach, ME collection of finely smoothed driftwood was used as a background for the big pink plastic flowers. The flower centers are moss colored glass roses. The 14ktgf chain is approx. 17". The Hummingbird drops approx. 1-1/2". The clasp is a 14ktgf Toggle.

This pretty cross pendant is made from black Antique Sandwich Glass which has been crushed and formed in my Kiln. The cross is cross-wrapped in Sterling Silver. There is a silver antiqued brass filigree running down the center of the cross with a small Red Ruby Gemstone dangling from the bottom. This cute little pin is approx. 5/8" x 1" square, with a smaller Ruby Red Antique Sandwich Glass Sail laying flat on top. At the end of the day, Cape Cod Craftsmen at the Sandwich Glass Factory discarded many shards and broken or undesirable pieces of glass outside the factory in the late 1800's. Many years later, most of the glass was dug up leaving wonderfully historic clues to the manufacture of the best glass ever made. This horn was probably the handle to some unknown piece of glassware, maybe a candlestick holder, which never made it to market. This piece has been ground to form the horn and slightly beveled and etched to create sparkle on your Holiday tree or wherever you need a bit of Holiday sparkle. This Chrysthanthemum has a lovely shade of Pale Icy Blue and is surrounded with Pearly White Fresh Water Pearls. The vintage plastic molded Chrysthemum was a big hit in the 1940's and 50's! The shank of the ring is an adjustable white enameled metal. The underside of the flower is a white lace doilie where it rests so sweetly. The top of the ring measures approx. 25mm. This beautiful Creamy White and Pink Glass is Antique Sandwich Glass Milk Glass which was dug up from the original factory site in Sandwich, MA.. Dating to the 1800's, this glass is rare and historical. The big "squarish" shapes were first cut and ground, then tumbled with smooth and curvy edges and a texture much like porcelain. They measure approx. 1-1/8" wide by 1-1/2" tall. Bali Silver rounded rondelle beads sit on top of the earrings and connect to the Sterling Silver wire loops. Sterling Silver Ear hooks. This big chunky piece of swirly Depression Glass has been tumbled to a thick, smooth frosty patina. This dangling Cobalt Blue Teardrop Necklace is made of five Cobalt Blue Antique Sandwich Glass pieces which have been worked in my Glass Studio, kiln formed, ground and tumbled to a high polish. Your piece of Sandwich Glass is over 100 years old! The original Sandwich Glass factory in Sandwich, Cape Cod, Massachusetts was in operation from 1825-1888. Legend has it from those who were residents of Sandwich in the early 1900's, that the original formula for the glass was destroyed along with the building. The ruby color glass required gold which they imported from Italy, and much of the sand was from Virginia, and also the Berkshires. The Company imported materials for their glass from other areas as well. Because much of this information is unknown and unavailable today, the original Sandwich Glass was never accurately reproduced. After fire destroyed the building,there remained left behind, and buried under the ground, thousands of broken pieces which were discards from many color and product experiments from the 500 or so employees and craftsmen that worked at this glass factory. These fragments were dug up through the years. Some of the fragments are naturally smoothed from natural influences, but most is tumbled, kiln formed and drilled by me. Part of my Fleet of Antique Sandwich Glass Sailboats. This one is semi-translucent Green Antique Sandwich Glass with a large hull and two sails. This glass is thick and smooth and has been worked in my Glass Studio shaping, grinding, polishing and drilling. 14ktgf smooth and twisted wire circles completely around the center of the sailboat. More 14ktgf wire climbs up one of the sails and meets the twisted ring for your chain. There is one swag of Peridot Gemstones and below it, a swag of pale coppery color Swarovski Crystals. This vessel measures approx. 1-1/2" x 1-1/2".

This Cluster Bracelet has loads of Pink/Peach Coral beads in 3 different sizes. Most of the beads are 8mm, some are 6mm and some are 5mm. All beads are fastened onto heavy beading wire with Sterling Silver wrapped loops - some with flat tips, some with floral heads. This Beautiful Big Red Heart is Antique Sandwich Glass which has been ground and molded in my kiln. The resulting colors are various deep reds with some black matrix. The top of the heart is domed and the back is flat. It has been highly polished. The necklace itself is constructed with many different types of beads. Bright Red Faceted Quartz Rondells are a large 10mm. There are many Sterling Silver ball beads; a multitude of Openwork and Filigree Balinese Silver Beads; Black Onyx Faceted Rondelles, Faceted Bicones and Rectangular Tube Beads. The clasp is on the lower side of the necklace for added interest and it is a Sterling Silver Heart Toggle Clasp. The total length of the necklace is 19.5". This Beautiful Ruby Red Antique Sandwich Glass Heart has been ground and formed in my kiln and is highly polished. The center of the Heart has a clear faceted rhinestone embedded. The big 14mm Round Sterling Silver link chain is textured and sparkling. The clasp is an antiqued filigree Balinese Silver Heart Toggle which is worn on the bottom side and meant to be seen! This chain is approx. 21" long. The Antique Sandwich Glass Heart is approx. 1-1/4" x 1". The top of the Heart is smooth and domed. The back is textured and resembles veins of the heart. Wear it as a Brooch, or a Pendant! This large Antique Sandwich Glass Sailing Ship is a member of my "Fleet of Ships" Glass Sailboats that I have been creating for many years. This high quality glass was produced on the beaches of Sandwich, MA at the original Sandwich Glass Factory. This unique sailing ship is a Raisin Color glass with creamy streaks and swirls. After cutting and grinding, this glass is tumbled and polished to create this piece. The hull of the ship has deep grooves running in an arc and meeting the scalloped bottom of the glass. There is a swag of Sparkling Faceted Andalusite Gemstones on the front of the sailboat/ship. This piece is constructed with 14ktgf wire. There is a 24kt Gold Vermeil Twisted Rope ring on the back for a chain or cord. This piece can also be worn as a brooch with the long sturdy 14ktgf wire pin which is hand formed and attached to the back with 14ktgf wire. This piece measures approx. 2" x 1-1/2".

These lovely earrings are derived from Antique Sandwich Glass shards rescued from the original factory site. I'm sure this was meant to be a beautiful vase, or perhaps a set of candlestick holders at one time, but they are just as beautiful today dangling from your ears! These softly curled earrings are soothing shades of aqua with a pretty ruffle down the center. They remind me of icicles and ice castles. The top of each little ruffled section has imprinted textured detail. Each curled earring is approx. 2". Simply wrapped and looped with Sterling Silver wire with a Sterling Silver ear hook. This is the perfect beachcomber necklace with frosty pale yellow Antique Sandwich Glass and frosty pale green Depression Glass. These pieces of glass were re-worked to a frosty patina with smooth, thick edges. These pieces are between 1-3/4" - 2-1/4" long. They are strung onto thick, round, black velvet cording which is soft on your neck. There are antiqued silver filigree tube beads with tiny flowers in the filigree separating the glass. Sterling Silver hand formed hook loops to close the necklace. Approx. 18".

This is end of the day glass from the original Sandwich Glass Factory. The Pattern is a colorful Tortoise Shell look. Deep brown, yellow, blue hues. This glass was worked in my Glass Studio from cutting to finished polishing. This glass was kiln fired for a deeper, richer Tortoise Shell look. Sterling Silver leafs dangle on the front. The ear hooks are Silver plate lever backs. The glass sticks are approx. 1-1/2" long and just under 1/2" wide at the bottom widest section. The total dangling length is approx. 2-3/4". These earrings can be made into pierced look with lever backs. Just ask me!

This little Sailing Ship is approx. 1-1/2" x 1" and uses 2 different colors of my recycled Antique Sandwich Glass. The bottom and the small sail are a swirl pattern with raisin and cream coloring. The larger sail is a deep dark semi-translucent pink, which matches the Ruby Gemstones. The hull of the boat has a swag of Faceted Ruby Gemstones, and above that is a swag of 3 Copper rings. This vessel is constructed with 14ktgf wire which climbs up the smaller sail, loops into the larger pink sail and forms a loop, ready for your chain!

One of my many Sailboats from my Fleet of Sailing Vessels made of recycled Antique Sandwich Glass. This single sail vessel has an Amber color glass which is semi-translucent, thick and smooth. The hull of the boat is a pretty Aquamarine color with 3 "dashes" alongside the thick, smooth glass. These pieces have been tumbled and polished, but left slightly frosted for character. There are 3 twisted rings of 24kt Gold Vermeil attached to the front. Approx. 1-3/4" x 1", this sailboat is constructed with 14ktgf wire which is wrapped around the top of the sail and formed into a curly banner, and a loop for your chain.

Recycled Red Antique Sandwich Glass Earrings with Turquoise Swarovski Crystals

These Deep Red Diamond and Teardrop Shape Earrings were developed in my Glass Studio using 2 different shades of red crushed Antique Sandwich Glass and molding it in my kiln. After lots of shaping and polishing, I paired them up with Turquoise Swarovski Bicone Crystals for Bold Southwest Color. This glass is thick and smooth with highly polished tops. Sterling Silver wire wrapped teardrops have tiny Sterling Ball Beads at the top. The Sterling Silver ear hooks are hand formed and have the same Turquoise Crystals on both sides of the red glass. These earrings are approx. 3-1/2" long.

Chunky, dangling Antique Sandwich Glass Earrings in colors of Seafoam Green, Environmental Green, Lemon Yellow. These earrings have a combination of tumbled, frosty patina glass and highly polished glass. The top piece is a triangular piece with a raised pattern which has been cut and tumbled smooth and shiny. All four pieces of Antique Sandwich Glass on each earring are thick and smooth with semi-transparent characteristics. Sterling Silver is wrapped around the glass from bottom to top and wound around the stem. Hand formed Sterling Silver ear hooks. The stack is approx. 1" wide and 1-1/4" tall. The total dangling length with the ear wires is approx. 2".

On the Beach Antique Sandwich Glass and Sterling Necklace

This Antique Sandwich Glass looks very much like Sea Glass, but it's not!! This is Rare and Special Glass from the site of the original Sandwich Glass Factory in Sandwich MA, Cape Cod. After shaping much of this Antique Sandwich Glass, I tumbled them smooth, but left them with a frosty, sandy beach patina. The colors of the Caribbean are all here in various shades of Aquamarine, Hazy Yellow, Frosty Green and Seafoam Green. All eleven of these Rare Antique Glass pieces are thick and smooth with a free and easy Sterling Silver shank for a charm-like dangling look. Little twisted rope Sterling rings appear on the front and backs of each piece of glass. The chain is large oval links both smooth and textured for a sparkling effect. Each oval is linked with a smaller circular ring. The total length of this chain is approx. 20", but this necklace is totally adjustable anywhere under that with the big, hammered Sterling Silver Hook.

My historical connection and family ties to Sandwich Glass extend back to three generations of the Hamblin and Hoxie Families, who's members continued on as glass cutters at the fabled glass factory well past it's 1888 closing. I have a limited amount of these rare glass artifacts. Every piece of jewelry is authentic Antique Sandwich Glass.

Your piece of Sandwich Glass is over 100 years old! The original Sandwich Glass factory in Sandwich, Cape Cod, Massachusetts was in operation from 1825-1888. Legend has it from those who were residents of Sandwich in the early 1900's, that the original formula for the glass was destroyed along with the building. The ruby color glass required gold which they imported from Italy, and much of the sand was from Virginia, and also the Berkshires. The Company imported materials for their glass from other areas as well. Because much of this information is unknown and unavailable today, the original Sandwich Glass was never accurately reproduced. After fire destroyed the building,there remained left behind, and buried under the ground, thousands of broken pieces which were discards from many color and product experiments from the 500 or so employees and craftsmen that worked at this glass factory. These fragments were dug up through the years. Some of the fragments are naturally smoothed from natural influences, but most is tumbled, kiln formed and drilled by me. I believe I am one of the very few who may still have this glass in this form. My Mother-In-Law grew up across the street from the original factory and was one of those who dug up much of the glass. I was fortunate enough to be given all this glass which is slowly disappearing. Enjoy your piece of Original, Antique Sandwich Glass!

Big Slabs of colorful Antique Sandwich Glass in Ruby Red, Bottle Green, Bright Yellow, Aqua Blue and Cobalt Blue colors. All pieces have been tumbled. The colorful Sterling Silver Glass Arc is approximately 5". The chain is 10mm circles of Sterling Silver and measures 15-1/2". The total length is approx. 20-1/2". Sterling Silver hook will fit into any circle to adjust the length. A pretty red gemstone drop dangles from the end of the chain.
