Charming and functional - a one of a kind small box, designed and handcrafted by us from beautifully aged wood, chosen from reclaimed boards that were once part of an old cabin in our area.

The piece is carefully sanded so it feels smooth to the touch, but at the same time retains its unique character.
The natural colours of the wood are a wonderful patina of warm sunburnt browns.
Since it has such a rich look just the way it is, the finish of the wood is left completely natural - no stain or varnish being used.

The box is enhanced with an exquisite original woodburning design of a songbird with touches of hand-painting in blue and brown acrylics.

Due to the unique character of each board, the box you receive will be very similar but not totally identical to the photo.

It measures appr. 4x3x1 3/4 inches high (10x8x4.5cm) on the outside.

One of A Kind - RUSTIC REFINED

Our solid wood frames are handcrafted here on Paradise Hill from reclaimed aged barn wood which we have collected ourselves in our area. Most of them are of old pine, some of old fir. They are built to last, held together by hidden screws, the holes filled with solid wood dowelling.

They have been carefully sanded, making them nice to touch, but are otherwise left natural, showing off the wonderful patina of the wood, ranging from weathered greys to warm, sunburnt browns.

Each frame has four keyhole hangers routed right into the wood at the back, so they can be hung both vertically or horizontally on small nails. We also supply a piece of solid wood that can be inserted at back if you would like it to be free-standing.

The width of the frames ranges from appr. 1 1/2 to 2 inches (4 to 5 cm).

They come with non-glare glass, acid-free backing and flexible framing points, ready to insert your photo or artwork.

No two are ever alike, each having its own unique character markings, but you can state a choice of either weathered grey/brown or sunburnt brown. If no colour is specified, a greyish/brown tone will be sent.

The greyish/brown tones suit almost any colour picture, the sunburnt browns go especially well with warm tone colours, such as reds, browns and are excellent for sepia photos.

The photos here shows samples of our weathered grey/brown frames, except for picture no 5, which shows sunburnt wood.

The price for this listing is for one frame that fits an 8 x 10 inch picture or art work.

A little piece of history preserved...this handcrafted barnwood frame provides a charming, functional and artsy way to keep your earrings easily accessible!

Simply leaning on your dresser, table, or hung on the wall, it will look like an ever changing piece of art work. The frame has routed keyholes at back, ready for hanging either vertically or horizontally. We also supply a solid piece of wood to insert at back to make the frame free-standing, if you so desire.

You can organize or randomly place earrings on the strong yet flexible mesh insert. It is wedged between two solid frames and shows off your collection very nicely.

The double frame is built from weathered pine, aged to a beautiful patina of silvery grey with touches of warm brown, taken from the shady side of a reclaimed old cabin.
We have carefully sanded it to make it nice and smooth to the touch, but otherwise left it in its natural state, complete with its unique and interesting character markings collected from many years of exposure to the rain, sun, snow and wind.

The space to hang the earrings measures 9.5 x 7.5 inches (24x19cm), the overall frame is appr. 12.75 x 10.75 inches (32x27cm).

Our latest design...

Tea water is always on up on Paradise Hill!

We first designed this style of box to attractivly store an assortment of tea bags on our counter, but most particularly to bring it to where we serve tea to our guests and allow them to make their individual choices.
Since we enjoy using ours every day, we would like to offer you this design as well.

The slightly slanted open box is handcrafted from reclaimed aged boards, salvaged by us from a fallen old cabin and fencing in our area. The wood is rich in character with a wonderful patina of weathered greys and warm browns.
It has been carefully sanded, so it feels smooth and wonderful to the touch, but has otherwise been left completely natural. The simple pleasing shape and rounded edges give it a timeless rustic yet refined look.

Due the the unique grain pattern of each board, the piece you receive will differ slightly from the picture.

It measures 7 x 3.5 x 2.5 inches (18x9x6cm).

Quite unusual, these earrings are handmade from small pieces of Canadian silver birch. The wood is finely sanded, then enhanced with an exquisite, original woodburning design depicting a tiny fern leaf on each. They are completed by a delicate touch of hand-painting in calming forest green acrylics.

Weathered from years of strong winters and hot summers, the wood is rescued from falling down cabins and fences in the Northern Canadian bush of British Columbia.

We remove old nails and lightly sand the boards, being careful to retain the beautiful silvery gray & light brown patina, as well as the very unique character markings of the wood.

Hand-shaped into tea light holders of simple, natural beauty, they radiate a soothing and calming aura, perfect for relaxing, meditating or dining.

Each coaster has been hand-shaped from reclaimed boards, salvaged by us from old falling cabins and barns in our area - the Northern forest of British Columbia, Canada.

The wood has lots of interesting patterns and character, including some small knots and the occasional nail hole from its former life. The rich patina of warm, sunburnt brown tones was achieved by years of exposure to the elements.

Apart from gently sanding each piece, the wood has been left completely natural for an authencic look and its wonderful feel.

The coasters may be wiped with a slighly damp cloth as they are, or if you prefer we can apply a water-based sealer to them with a satiny finish, just let us know in 'message to seller'.

Each measures appr. 3.5x3.5 inches (9x9cm)

A charming way to file away the business cards you collect, or an attractive storage for your own cards on hand.

We handcraft these solid little boxes from reclaimed boards salvaged from old buildings and fences in our surrounding area.

The wood is gently sanded, the corners softly rounded, making it very pleasant to the touch, but care has been taken to preserve the beautiful natural patina of weathered silvery greys and shades of warm browns.

The interesting grain pattern of the old wood give it lots of character and a simple, woodburnt design along the top rim adds a bit of an old world feel.

Something a bit different, this pair of original earrings is handcut from a piece of Canadian silver birch wood, finely sanded, rubbed with 100% natural walnut oil & hanging from Sterling silver ear wires.

They are enhanced with an exquisite original woodburning design, reminding of tiny heather flowers, and complemented by a delicate touch of handpainting in blue-green acrylics.

The earrings are feather-light, making them very comfortable to wear. They greatly enhance casual clothing, but also look just right with more dressy natural materials, such as a silk or fine wool.

Measuring 1 3/8 inches long, and 3/8 inches wide, total length with the ear hooks is appr. 2 1/4 inches.

Since each pair is handcrafted one at a time, their may be slight variations due to the individual character marks of the wood.

They are signed at the back, making for a unique gift, or enhancing your own earring selection.

RELAX - WILD ASTER ON WOOD

Our second design of a collectible original wooden art card (ACEO).

The ‘canvas’ is a beautiful piece of Canadian silver birch from our area, whittled down to 2 ½ x 3 ½ x 1/8 inches, sanded very smooth so it feels wonderful when you touch it.

The original art work is first sketched in pencil, then burned right into the wood with a fine burning tool, making it very permanent. It is further enhanced with touches of delicate acrylic painting right onto the wood.

‘Relax’- the message - is one of a series of power words or ‘focuses’ that we will be offering more of. Just one word - glanced at during the day – has the ability to zero us in on what we want to accomplish and succeed in. It can keep us from scattering our forces and help in redirecting our energy towards our goal - not a small task in our very complex world these days.

The wooden card is signed and dated by us at the back in woodburning, making it collectible.

Rustic Yet Refined

A beautiful mat to place your teapot on - or whatever else you like!

Handcrafted from a roof shingle we salvaged from a cabin in the woods nearby, the piece was planed, sanded smooth, formed into an organic shape, then further enhanced with an exquisite woodburning design of birch, poplar and willow leaves, finially hand painted in warm acylics of copper, green and gold.

The trivet has been protected with a water-based satin diamond finish and can be wiped with a damp cloth.
It measures appr. 5x5 inches (13.13cm).

Saved from the fire, the wood was given new life and function as a useful mat or trivet, as well as an artful table decor.

Makes a great natural gift!

Charming and multi-functional, a little bench for your business cards, a great way to rotate new photos, or a unique way to display your art cards (ACEO's).

Designed and handcrafted by us from reclaimed weathered barnwood, it’s a small piece of history given new life and function.

You can lean up to 25 business cards into the larger indented space or a photo or art card into the smaller slot at back. It comes with three semi-precious tumbled stones (local jasper and quartz), which are fun to place in or around the bench (or hold them when you are stressed!). The wood and stones have a relaxing effect – it’s almost like a miniature oasis right on your desk.

Reclaimed old pine boards given new life - they now function as a comfy little bench for tea lights!

Weathered from years of strong winters and hot summers, the wood is rescued from falling down cabins and fences in the Northern Canadian bush of British Columbia.

We remove old nails and lightly sand the boards, being careful to retain the beautiful silvery gray & light brown patina, as well as the very unique character markings of the wood.

Hand-shaped into a tea light holder of simple, natural beauty, it radiates a soothing and calming aura, perfect for relaxing, meditating or dining.

It measures appr. 7 x 2 1/2 inches at its widest x 1 1/2 inches high (17x6x3.5 cm.
