Donna Beales is a jewelry artist, writer and illustrator at Western Avenue Studios in historic Lowell, Massachusetts.
Donna shares her love of Celtic lore and high fantasy in her one-of-a-kind pieces. Many of her designs feature the intricate braid work and scroll patterns of ancient Celtic artwork.
She is inspired by many sources, including the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and the National Museum of Scotland as well as works of high fantasy. She is a professional Librarian and researcher and has spent many hours in libraries studying her craft.
Donna specializes in spiritual jewelry and considers her artistic work to be a form of meditative prayer. “I want to create pieces you might find on an archeological dig, or in the dark depths of a dragon’s hoard. When you wear my pieces, I want you to feel like you own something a member of the royal court might have worn from a thousand years ago, but more importantly, I want you to feel that someone made your piece with love and care for you, not that it was cranked off some assembly line by an impoverished worker in Bali.”
Donna’s body of work includes several acclaimed video productions, however she is best known for her work in the New York Times best-selling series “Chicken Soup for the Soul.”
