| Refresh's Shop Announcement |
Refresh by Midori embraces recycling, function, and art by using elements of recycled, or natural/earth friendly materials in each piece. I have been crafting as long as I can remember, in fact I started "helping" my mom at her art shows when I was a baby (by sleeping in a basket at her booth.) One of my life passions is working with recycled or earth friendly materials. I picked those materials because I feel extra good when I recycle, I like making a difference in the world with my work, recycled materials are usually the only supplies that coincide with my budget, and I figure with a name that means "GREEN" (in Japanese), why not Go Green? Our environment and how we treat Mother Earth is a serious matter, yet making a difference and being aware can be fun! Every item has been refreshed by Midori with love & respect, all while leaving a smaller ecological footprint. Handmade in the Red, White, and Blue, Baby. Let's Go Green!
You can hear me as "the voice" of the www.181.fm "Chilled Out" online radio station. Along with creating crafts, I write, record, and produce voiceovers. If you would like a custom message created for your business other than the voicemail or website greeting I currently have listings for, "convo" me and I'll create a custom voiceover listing just for you.
Refresh by Midori products are available locally at People's Organic Food Market in Ocean Beach, California. Also, join me "live" Tuesdays at the Otay Town Center Farmer's Market, Wednesdays at the Farmer's Market in Ocean Beach from 4-8pm on Newport Avenue next to the longest pier in the West Coast, most Sundays downtown San Diego near the new baseball stadium, and the last Monday of every month you can happen upon me in La Jolla at The Whole Foods Sunset Market, from 4pm-8pm.
Looking for something special you don't see in the shop? Custom orders of all kinds are welcome, please ask!
I will ship outside the USA, please "convo" me for a shipping quote.
Refresh is honored to be a member of EcoEtsy! I use recycled packaging & shipping materials.
Refresh is a proud supporter of the Frances Klauser Memorial Scholarship Fund at Lapeer High School in Lapeer, Michigan, which helps make it possible for a Special Ed student to attend college. The scholarship was established in 2004 in honor of one of the first Special Education teachers in Michigan (the 1st Special Ed teacher in Lapeer County), she was also my grandmother and lovingly taught me the skills & importance of creatively making due with what little you may have and giving to others.
Inspirations include: Andy Warhol, Leonardo Da Vinci, Bono, Horst Rechelbacher, Martha Stewart (I love how she doesn't limit herself-she does it all!), Living with Ed (Begley Jr.), Tyree Guyton from the Heidelberg Project, Sarah McLachlan (the creator of Lilith Fair), and of course my family (if you couldn't already tell.)
