ABOUT FARADAY BAGS
English chemist and philosopher Michael Faraday (1791-1867) made perhaps his greatest contributions in the areas of electromagnetism. His Faraday Cage is the basis of the data-shielding Faraday Bag, which uses his principles to shield the personal information contained in RFID chips in credit cards and passports from prying eyes.
In addition to data-shielding bags, I make totes and handbags without data-shielding capacity, so check item descriptions carefully to make sure you get the item you want.
Much of my work comes from custom orders, and I'm very happy to consider requests.
I ship via USPS insured within the U.S., and First Class International to outside the United States.
This shop attempts to use the planet gently. Toward this end:
(1) The building in which all products are made is solar-powered.
(2) No harsh chemicals are used to clean the brass or silver: just good, old fashioned apple cider vinegar. What stains aren't removed generally mellow until they look rather nice.
(3) Many of my products are made of, or contain upcycled materials. Look for the "recycled" or "upcycled" tags to see which ones.
(4) I reuse packaging material. When this is not possible, I choose packaging that is either post-consumer or biodegradable.
Also: all items are handmade in a smoke-free environment.
