Read on for the story of the First Vintage Lacy Tree:
In 2006, a couple from New Paltz, New York inspired the first Vintage Lacy Tree Invitation which is similar to the tree invitations featured in my shop. As organic farmers, they grew the flowers for their own wedding bouquets and did indeed marry under the graceful boughs of a tree.
Every season since, brides have infused intricate foliage with their own colors and personalized the imagery with winding paths, waterfalls, distant cityscapes, and cherished pets.
As in nature, no two Vintage Lacy Tree Invitations are exactly alike. I treat each piece of a bride’s stationery ensemble as an original work of art. Touches of color can just as easily mimic the verdant burst of a spring ornamental, the glow of autumn maple or sunlight as it dances across bare frosty limbs.
All Momental invitations are custom-made and individually hand-painted. Borrowing something old… the lacy pattern in this particular design was inspired by an antique wooden stamp originally carved to imprint fine fabric. “It is the delicate stamp impression that typically catches a bride’s eye and opens the door to every other possible way we can tell her story.”
