Welcome to Wandering Mermaid! Come and wander through our selection of whimsical handmade sketchbooks and journals. Each book is filled with special details and whimseys that include famous quotes, classic poetry, original sketches or maybe some decoupage. Every unique book is individually named and no two books are ever the same. These books can be used for writing, sketching, painting and displaying photographs. All materials used are natural and archival. Books have a hard cover made with Lineco acid-free binders board and are covered with a variety of natural fine papers including Italian Venetian, Thai Unru, Japanese Kozo as well as some fun cotton rags. The pages allow you to use a variety of mediums and are made up of a selection of 140 lb. cold press watercolor paper, black cardstock for dipalying photographs using archival glue or photo corners, drawing paper for sketching with pencil, pens or fine inks and speckled writing paper for your thoughts, poems, notes or journaling. Each book is hand stitched using 100% pure hemp twine. There is a secret pocket inside the front cover for you to keep small treasures and is sometimes filled with a vintage postcard to compliment the theme of the book. There is an envelope sewn into the back of the book for any precious things you collect along the way. You will also find a hemp twine bookmark in each book with a charm at the end.
