Fired Arts - I'm a "Craft Artisan" who uses many mediums to reach my visions - My passions are clay, glass and textile/mixed media. I get excited about combining all aspects of my work.
My obsession for clay began many years ago thus creating my addiction to wood/soda firing. In wood firings the clay can be glazed or left unglazed to highlight the natural ash melt that occurs during the firing process. Woodfirings are both labor intensive and expensive and require a commitment of several days of constant attention to complete.
I'm a self-taught glass fuser and I also work with fibers, felting, paper and organics, incorporating herbs from my herb gardens into my mixed media pieces. I learned the "Art of "Craftsmanship" from my Grandmother when I was a little girl and the drive to try everything possible.
I have exhibited and sold at local art/craft shows and galleries. I have a working studio that is open daily. You never know what’s firing! If you live in Kentucky or don't mind a road trip, email/convo me to come visit!
