Hand-Pulled Reduction Linoprints

Top shop for gifts.

Announcement    My process of Lino-printing involves hand drawing on to a piece of linoleum, then, using the linoleum as a relief surface, the image is cut using specialist tools.

The raised (un-carved) areas are then inked with a roller and impressed onto paper. This process is repeated for every colour in the print. This is known as reduction printing since at every stage more and more of the linoleum is cut away until very little of it remains.

The actual printing can be done by hand or with a press.

The tradition of Lino-printing was born from that of Woodblock printing which dates back hundreds of years.

Here you will find a selection of hand pulled reduction Linoprints, each, one of a very limited run.
All pieces are crafted by hand, often there are slight variations from one print to the next. That's the beauty of hand pulled printmaking. Although every care is taken to ensure the images represent the print to its fullest, please allow for slight variations.
