As far as I remember, I've always had a fascination with bonsai. I grew up poor and the only thing I had for entertainment (besides three channels of shit on the TV) was a 1976 World Book Encyclopedia. For shits, I would pick up a volume and read it, cause hey, nothing better to do. Volume B included Bananas, Birds, and Bonsai. That's where I first learned of bonsai: there was a picture of this little tree resting on some dude's hand.
That picture captured my imagination. The universe in the palm of your hand. I grew up a bit and joined the navy. In my nine years in, I got a chance to see this little world of ours. Along the way, I got married and for a while we did the whole navy gypsy thing, keeping our possessions small enough to pack up and move out. Along the way, my fascination with bonsai continued to grow, but never actually able to keep any for myself.
Once I left the navy, I started keeping bonsai and I learned from a few of the Japanese masters in California. For a while, I had my own bonsai nursery to help put myself through college. After a while, I got bored of the restraints of the traditional bonsai pots, so I learned to make my own pottery. And that brings us to this little shop of mine.
My pots are strange, unique, and sometimes straight up fuckery, not gonna lie. Everything I make is a reflection of my experiences throughout my life. I love what I make, I make what I love.
