Inspired by a love of nature and a bit of whimsy, Joretta Knits designs are handcrafted with local textiles, hand chosen for their beauty and timelessness, and of course, for comfort. I am a homeschooling mom and homesteader and was inspired to start this shop for children’s knit hats and dresses as a way to share my love of crocheting, which I remember learning at the home my grandmother, Joretta. Those fond memories are a source of inspiration for this shop. I believe childhood is a time for laughter and smiles, storytelling and make believe, and my designs reflect just that, from the points on the fox ear hats to the pretty little stars on the hairclips. My knits are meant to be both cherished and worn - over and over again, from those planned special occasions to the not-so-planned-but-just-as-speical occasions, like backyard picnics and rainy day story times.
