I have always had two loves - travel & making things. When I go somewhere I love to let the culture inspire me. I have a sketch book & water-color set everywhere I go.
After living in Japan I began wearing kimono & making kanzashi (fabric flowers) from antique silk kimono fabric that I had found in local temple market. I was inspired to open a little shop to share them with new friends. My daughters were my models.
Now one of my girls is my new inspiration. She is a dancer and I have been making her costumes for years - everything from classic custom ballet tutu all the way to full Egyptian style Oriental dance costumes. Many years ago I had been a dancer myself - traveling all over the middle east to study. I also make all my daughter's dance practice wear. I have created many of my own patterns & techniques. I would like to share some of these dance items with my lolita ladies as well as my kanzashi.
My other girl is also an artist - her items will make an appearance in this shop as well.
I just keep creating, staying inspired, evolving & exploring new projects.
