FYI: Some of my leftover stock contains wing prints that have not been pictured. Including: Robots & Fluffy White Rabbits! They are very cool!

Val, from Canton, Massachusetts recently e-mailed me about what drew her to Aunt Flo's Sass Rags:

"Sass rags are awesome. What drew me to them at first was the eco-friendly aspect, not to mention the idea of not having to purchase so many feminine care products over and over and over again as I do month after month. I admit, I was hesitant at first but when I saw that they are made for thongs I had to try them. These serve as an excellent pantyliner on a heavy day,and they do the entire job on a lite day. Saves my underwear and the worries of leakage!"

For environmental, economic and a woman’s health and safety alternative menstrual products are rightly becoming more appealing. Statistics estimate that the average woman will dispose of 10,000 to 15,000 pads or tampons in her lifetime, costing her roughly 3 to 4,000 dollars, and exposing her to toxins and chemicals that may affect a her health later in life. Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) is caused by a build up of a bacterial toxin (which happens to grow well on rayon fibers which are found in most mainstream products) and is generally associated with tampons, but can also be caused by disposable pads since the synthetic liners used don’t allow for the body to breath as it would with just a cotton panty. Mainstream disposable products expose women to traces of harmful pesticides, dioxins and chlorine bleach. This exposure can and should be avoided by using reusable cotton rags, menstrual cups, or even disposable products made out of 100% organic cotton. Aunt Flo wants women to know about the risks and be able to choose products that are safer for her body. If the big companies don’t care about our health we should let them know that we do!
