Baillie Day, where it all began!
My great granny taught me to knit, sew and bake when I was 4 which gave me a love for all things handmade and I haven't stop designing and crafting since!
Baillie Day began when I was in London aged 14, I went past a small bead shop in Soho and loved all of the colours. There was nothing like that shop near me in Scotland so I dashed in and bought painted wooden beads. I went home and made bracelets for my family and friends, the elastic bracelet never lasted, but the idea to make and sell my products did.
4 years on I heard about this site called etsy, I opened a shop, put 8 rubbish photos up and forgot about it, flash forward to 2011 and I had my daughter. I had made myself some pocket watches over the years but hadn't thought other people would be keen. Then I decided to make a go of it and I made some new products, took some new photos and headed off to the Christmas Craft Fairs.
January came and with a renewed sense of business, the sales started coming in! I went from 2 sales in 2011 to 400 in 2012, almost 900 in 2013 and who knows what in 2014!
