Many of my necklaces are Kumihimo braids. Kumihimo is the traditonal art of Japanese braiding and is a highly specialized skill. I find that I also like to use a variety of fibers as well as silk, the traditional Japanese braiding fiber. And adding beads to the fibers creates another dimension to the necklaces.
I have also branched out into working with wire, even braiding with it! And finally, I have discovered the natural beauty of semi-precious stone beads so some necklaces will be a wonderful conbination of colors and textures.
