My passion for making fabulous scented candles came several years ago when my boyfriend expressed that he wanted a candle that smelled like Bend, Oregon; a town he used to live in.
After searching high and low I couldn't quite find a candle that had the subtle sweetness of Ponderosa pine, the fresh air, the sage brush and juniper.

This is when Bertie's Umbrella came to be.

I am inspired by my beautiful (and wonderful smelling) surrounding here in the Pacific Northwest. At my day job I am surrounded by trees, dirt, fresh air, waterfalls, campfires, ferns and more. I wanted to capture these scents into something people could take home with them. Many of my scents are inspired by real places. A photo taken by me graces the label of these products.

It's not just the natural settings of Oregon that inspire me so much. The Pacific NW is known for being quite the " Foodie Mecca". With all the farm fresh and wild gathered ingredients at our fingertips who would expect anything else? This is where all of my delicious food and bakery scent inspirations come from.

All candles and soaps are handmade by me from high quality made/grown in the USA ingredients.
